Sooz thats really good - I like that!!

Just come home early from playing at ds' friends coz his temp shot up again and he vomited. Poor sausage. He's asleep in bed now, feeling v sorry for himself (and I feel sorry for him too).

So, make the most of it eh? I'm off to do some assignment writing......

love and prayers to all x

ZipadiSuzy · 29/06/2007 15:40

CC - Is ds being sick because of his high temperature, or has he a tummy bug? my dc hate medicine its always hard to get temps down, poor thing, my prayers are winging their way to you and ds in notts (sunny aswell, for how long)

harrisey · 29/06/2007 15:46

Really like that SoozMind you, I am always leaving my mobile phone at home too and forgetting to check for messages!

I am about to sign off for a while, as we leave to go to Harris for 5 weeks this evening. In our house there we dont have an internet connection atm though I hope to manage a dial up one. Other than that, there is the library and dh can print things for me.

Just dont be worried if I vanish.

Could you pray for us when we are there. There are a lot of unhappy memories for me there, including severe pnd and all that entailed and the water there affected my kidneys badly. So I have a lot of bottles! Dh, otoh, loves it there, feels as if it is his home. So we have been on tenterhooks and fighting the last couple of days.

If anyone really needs me (aye right!), mary has my email.

Have a fun SUMMER!

MaryBS · 29/06/2007 16:20

I WILL post more later but... thank GOD I don't have to do Pizza Praise anymore! My head hurts from having to control 10 children for an hour in a classroom situation. How do teachers cope?

Roseylea · 29/06/2007 16:55

Have a wonderful time Harrisey!

May all the difficulties of the past be replaced by new happy memories for you. And good weather!

I am v. of your having a house on Harris!

Hi everyone else..I have a v. tired, grumpy dd on my hands...I need to play peacemaker until bedtime!

Mary at your being released from pIzza Praise! My mum always says that's the lovely thing about having to do something you don;t want to do - it's lovely when you don't have to do it any more!

CD hope your skin gets better. We live on steroid cream in his house!

DutchOma · 29/06/2007 17:36

Praying for Podmog that no yobs come round to throw stones, praying for Harrisey for travelling mercies and a wonderful time on Harris and NO FIGHTS with dh.
Prayers for Rosey and dd for peace and quiet until bedtime and beyond, prayers for peace in CC ds's tummy and blessings for all of you.

CaptainCaveman · 29/06/2007 20:28

Thank You for your prayers for ds. He seems a little better - think it's a 24 hour bug thing but sure that his temp going up so quickly probably led to him being sick again. He's currently in bed cuddling a multitude of teddies and sighing a lot

Enjoy Harris, Harriseys!

MaryBS · 30/06/2007 08:20

Sooz - I really like that (about the mobile). I could see me using that in a sermon! Praying before work eh, whatever next! Seriously though, that's lovely. I do it on a regular basis and it helps me to cope with the stress!

CCM - glad DS is seeming better - hoping and praying it continues! Well done for getting so much of your assignment done! Its amazing how prayer can help you prepare!

Harrisey - praying that you have a joyful time on Harris and can rid yourself of the unhappy memories, replacing them with good ones. Won't be the same on here without you!

RL - how did the eczema nurse get on at the school? Hoping and praying that she can talk some sense into them!

Please pray for everyone in need of healing, wherever they are...

CaptainDippy · 30/06/2007 10:52

Cold is getting worse ..... yuk yuk yuk.....

Guess what - I actually enjoyed a rare night out with DH - we went to a friend's Birthday BBQ, which was fun - Nice to see a few old friends & relax a little. Couldn't stay long though as BBQ was 40 mins away, starting at 8pm and MIL wanted us back before 11pm!! Feel like a naughy schoolgirl - staying up passed the curfew!! Bloomin' woman... Anyway, our 1st night out together since P was born, so good stuff!

DH has taken K to the 999 Display, it is pouring down with rain & we're all supposed to be doing a sponsored cycle ride for a local charity this PM .... .... Well, DH will be riding the bike with K & S in the trailer & I'll be walking along behind with P in the sling ..... The irony is when we did it last year, S was a little bit too small for the trailer, so I walked with her in the back carrier and we said "won't it be nice next year when K & S are big enough to both go in the trailer & we can all cycle!!?" Whoops!! Oh well, may be one year we'll all get to cycle!!!!!!?

What has everyone else got planned this w/e?? If we don't cycle this PM we'll be going to K's "Summer" Fayre at Pre-School and popping into town to get a Charlie & Lola DVD that DD1 really wants ..... Tomrrow is church and possibly a friend's little boy's 1st Birthday Party .....

Fellow Captain - Hope DS is feeling brighter this AM - poor mite. xx

harrisey - Praying lots of prayers of protection for you & your precious family as you prepare to spend time on Harris. Praying the spectres of the past can be eradicated by God's amazing Love & Power and that this would be a real time of Blessing & Renewal for you all. xx

Right - washing up .....

Thought the Mobile V Bible thing was great btw Sooz - v.true in my case, I'm afraid.

Poor little ds is still not well. SOOZ AND FELLOW EMETOPHOBES LOOK AWAY NOW! Got up at 1.30 am and spewed over me and dh, in bed. Nice.
Had a really high temp that took 2 hours to come down. Very lethargic this morning, didn't even want to watch Peppa Pig (seriously poorly!) so he is now sleeping on the sofa. Poor lamb.
Sure its just a bug but its awful when they're poorly isn't it .

On the plus side - I've got all my ironing and housework (ahem) done whilst he's been asleep, and I'm just about to start more assignment work!!

Prayers and love to you all xxx

CaptainDippy · 30/06/2007 11:25

BTW - do you guys remember Twiga who sometimes posts on this thread / used to post quite regularly?? Well, I've just had a little search around & she had an Elective Section on Fri (yesterday) - will update more when I know more ....

Just got this email ......

"Adam is moving on his left side (right is at the basic twitch stage) and is partly awake! But? he is still ?rebooting? and is still under some sedation so not able to communicate v well."

OP posts:
ZipadiSuzy · 30/06/2007 15:50

CC - Aw, my prayers are for your ds's recovery, I feel so sorry for him! (and you) although I understand the 'getting on with things' when lo's are poorly, its amazing how much you can get done, just one question, being a nurse does it ease the feeling puky side of things for you when your lo is poorly?

CD - well i hope the rain subsided enough for the bike ride, we invested the twins xmas money in a bike trailer, fab arn't they! although I'm pretty useless at it! weed that I am!

I've just got back from Asda to look for something to wear for next weekend, (ds school prom) actually only a disco at a village 'cricket pavilion' but I feel like 'mutton dressed up as lamb' why can't I just be brave and wear modern clothes if I want! (I think age has a lot to do with it)

Well supposed to be at work again in 10 minutes but 'rain stop play' yippeeeee, thank you god for that extra lovely family time! even though dh has gone to the tip

ZipadiSuzy · 30/06/2007 15:57

CD - Praise the lord for the slightest improvement in Adam, I pray he continues to improve, even the teeniest bit each day is such good news, please god work in Adam as he recovers wrap him in your care.

Please god look after Harrisey in 'Harris' for 5 weeks. - will miss her, hope she enjoys her special time and can resolve her not so nice memories and turn them around.

CaptainCaveman · 30/06/2007 19:29

I think it makes it much easier Sooz - the only thing that makes me gag is phlegm (eugh emoticon!). Bleurgh.
Ds now in bed, we just said a prayer for him to get well; I said we should ask God to look after him and make him better. Ds said "Dear God, please look after me and take my bugs away to make my tummy better. Amen" God bless him, he brings a little tear to my eye!! Seems better this evening after barfing again about 2 hours ago. Anyway, enough about the lurgey!!
Prayers for a peaceful, illness free night.

Continuing to pray for Adam and his family

How was the bike ride CD?

Do you get all afternoon/evening off then Sooz?

DutchOma · 30/06/2007 21:56

We had such a wonderful day out,our ds and ddil took us to the Nene Valley Railway, we went up and down a couple of times, then got out and walked to Peterborough Cathedral. Unfortunately we couldn't go in because an ordination service was just about to start, we saw the procession going up.
Then we went to their home to feed the cat and off again for a delicious meal. Just home and catching up with your news. Still prayers for ds, CC, the Lord tells us to be persistent in prayer. Just praying that he won't be sick again.
Good news about Adam, but such a long way to go for him still.
I am very concerned to read what naswm has posted on the other thread, (feeling depressed and something about MN not letting her down, I still can't do the links) she seems to have the roughest of times. I know nothing of her circumstances beyond what she has posted in the past ten days or so

bobsmum · 30/06/2007 22:20

Just thought you all might like to know that my friend Yvonne, a Christian singer/songwriter is on Radio 2 tonight with a live session!

Her music and voice are just great and she's now given up paid employment because she believes the Lord wants her to be a full time musician. It's a big commitment, but she's already reaching people doing gigs all over the UK.

She's sort of Kt Tunstally/Eva Cassidy ish with a bit of Eddi Reader if that helps define her music. I love her latest CD "Fearless' - it's really inspiring.

Have listen if you're up late tonight. It's on Bob Harris' show. It'll be on between 11 and 2am. Or listen again online.

I went to one of her gigs a couple of weeks ago at the back of a very cool bar in Glasgow's west end and it was fascinating to see the massive variety of people who turned up to hear some really beautiful spirit-filled music.

I went to uni with her and she sang at my wedding. She deserves a big break and God willing, it might just happen! And even if it doesn't, her music can really speak to people. Pray that the people who need to hear her music will be listening and will be touched.
