Just feeling very low at the moment! Yet another mother who came to see me is not interested for the childminding. I'm just asking for 1 child!

ZipadiSuzy · 28/06/2007 14:54

Mary - You are obviously the right person for the job, because I'm sure if you didn't react to your sermons especially healing services, you wouldn't be human, I find healing services very emotional and draining, but also a very important part of worship! well done, carry on the good work! 'GIVE YOURSELF A SHINEY'

bobsmum · 28/06/2007 17:35

Thank you all prayer warriors. Neill is coming out of hospital today.

Hopefully this second scare will get him to actually STOP doing stuff. He seems to think life should be back to normal after 10 days.

One impact for us (minor sounding compared to a heart attack) is that dh has taken over Neill's share of preaching as well as his own. sO he's done 4 services in a row now and I haven't seen him in the evenings for 4 weeks. I've been out doing youth club stuff and getting stuff done for my clothing business.

It's a bit mad and no word on a job yet.

On an amazing plus side though, ds sang a solo at his nursery graduation (yes graduation!)Not a dry eye in the house! If I can get dh to upload it to our webspace I'll email the addy if anyone's interested That's my boy [proud mummy emoticon]

MaryBS · 28/06/2007 17:40

Sooz you're really kind! Have you got your DD off the TV yet?

tasja, shame you're not round here! There's a real shortage of childminders in our village. 2 v. experienced ones have just given up and lots of parents are scrambling round to find a replacement! Am praying you get sorted but YAY to the trip

DO - I know you can talk for a long time on prayer - I've just finished leading a 5 evening Emmaus course on precisely that subject .

For a children's service I've been told max. 6 mins for a sermon. Usually its between 10-15 mins, although Sunday's will be shorter due to the type of service it is.

NQGU - that image of you as a child is great! That's just the sort of thing I'd do as well! OO YES! I need directions for the meetup!!!!

Rosey how did the meeting go this am? Praying for the pox and the eczema... and for some rest for you and DH! for being a wicked woman

CCM - how's your assignment coming along?

CaptainCaveman · 28/06/2007 19:45

Thanks for asking Mary - I sat for 5 mins before starting the assignment this morning, praying and feeling the Holy Spirit fill me up. Twas marvellous!
So, now coming along nicely and seems to make sense (until I re-read it tomorrow!). I'm on annual leave next week and ds is in nursery so will get it finished in time without too much stressing .

Ds not too well this evening, complaining of tummy ache and has a temp so gave him Calpol. Then about an hour ago he suddenly stood up on the settee clutching his tummy and howling, then vomited quite spectacularly all over the settee and his own feet. Thank the Lord its leather so it wiped clean! Little pumpkin now in bed asleep so praying he makes a quick recovery.

Great news Bobsmum re Neill, praying he takes it easy this time.

Rosey how did dd get on at the hospital?

Great news Tasja! Praise God for He answers our prayers

Harriseys well done!! You should be extra proud of yourselves. Of course, you are being the bigger person in letting dh get a slightly higher mark

CD are you any less tired? Praying you soon feel rested.

Sooz has your nephew been able to take a break yet now the waters are hopefully receeding?

Am worrying about dsis, have a horrible feeling that I can't seem to shake about her . Keeps popping into my mind and I'm not sure what to do about it.

ZipadiSuzy · 28/06/2007 20:02

CCM - Aw too graphic for an emetophobic, but I really feel for you and lo, I pray he recovers 'QUICKLY' poor wee mite!

You say you have a funny feeling about dsis, have you tried phoning her to make sure she is ok, spose you will miss dneic aswell if they are moving in with your parents, at least you will know they are safe! prayers for her as she embarks on what must feel like her never-ending trauma,

Stay strong and well done on your assignment!

ZipadiSuzy · 28/06/2007 20:06

Mary - thank you, yes dd is safely down 'OFF' the television and I apologise for my grammer (stook, I meant stuck) I was in a rush to get to her, after it had sunk in what she was yelling at I still can't work out how she got up there, nevrermind alls clear on the western front now!

CaptainCaveman · 28/06/2007 20:10

Thanks sooz, I know she's ok with mum and dad but I keep getting this sensation/feeling that she is going to die young, because of her alcoholism, and leave her poor dd without a mummy. It's weird, almost like i KNOW it will happen, and not before too long
Feel so powerless to help her and just wish she would seek some counselling to try and help her come to terms with being abused. At least then she might stand a fighting chance of getting well.

DutchOma · 28/06/2007 20:25

Dd house really looked a ton better than it has done. No point in looking in corners. The inspection lady had gone, so we had a cup of coffee and then went into town where she bought herself six terry squares, would you believe it? She asked whether I thought it was a sensible thing to do, so I said that I didn't know how she would ever manage without terry squares (in my time, when you were little...etc) but didn't like to say so. I showed her how to fold them, she has some fluffles or bumbles or some such thing and said that she actually thought he looked a bit slimmer and tidier in the terry nappy. Oh well, enough crowing done.
Mary, some of the best sermons I've ever heard have been ten minutes or less, apart from one spellbinding one which lasted two hours.
Bobsmum, glad to hear Neill is out of hospital again, I hated it when my dh was in hospital because he hated it so much too.
Fortunately he is much better now.
You may also be glad to know that Janipher by all accounts is holding her own, although things are still quite difficult for her.

Roseylea · 28/06/2007 20:33

Hello all!

Suze "on top of the TV"???? Let's hops it's not one of those posh flat-screen ones you hang on the wall!

Hi Bobsmum! Your life sounds hectic, eh? Hope you and dh get some 'together time' soon!

CCM {{{hugs}}} About these thoughts about your sis, my advice is to pray every time you have them. Just offer the anxiety up to God and pray verses like "Our times are in your hands" or "In you alone do I trust O God". I so feel for you tho; it's so hard seeing those you love suffer.

The hospital appt was great! We saw the children's specialist excema nurse who was very thorough and spent over an hour with us. We now have a new batch of creams, bath stuff etc and a new creaming regime. And dd has some rather exciting new sticker charts which the nurse gave her, just for creaming!

The nurse is "on a mission" (in her words!) to get primary schools creaming kids with bad excema - so far she has persuaded four local primaries to provide people (usually teaching asssistants) to cream children. She is going to phone dd's school tomorrow - so pray if you can for that phone call.

God bless all xxx

Roseylea · 28/06/2007 21:03

I've just come across this

I really really like the sound of it! I like the sound of St Johns generally. Do any of you Nottinghamites know anything much about it?

PandaG · 29/06/2007 08:08

so glad the meeting at the hosp was good Rosey - praying that the nurse is able to persuade your school to cream DD - that would be amazing

have a friend who should be starting vicar factory at St John's in Sept - selection panel willing! He has been to visit and really liked what he saw.

ZipadiSuzy · 29/06/2007 09:06

CCM - aw feel for you really, what a quandry to be in, I would still phone dsis when you have those moments (aswell as prayer) you may have some sibling mind link and she may need support, I know my mum gets it with all her children, she always phones at the right moment!

I can't begin to think what your going through, I can only pray you get healing within your family

How is your little man this morning, has the sickness subsided? yewy!

Roseylea - yes I know "on top of the television" I'll never know how she got up there!!!!!!!!!
I am praying you get success with school creaming, and hope the new creaming regime works well!

ZipadiSuzy · 29/06/2007 09:09

Roseylea - I'm a Nottinghamite, but obviously not close enough to the city to recognise St Johns, sorry I can offer no help, but sounds fab, perhaps Panda can offer more or maybe CCM??????????

CaptainCaveman · 29/06/2007 10:10

Rosey, have no personal insights to StJohns but their students (obviously not all of them) come on placement with our FAB vicar. We currently have a lady called Kate who is lovely. All the students seem to love it. Fab news re dd's appointment with exzema nurse and am praying hard for her phone call to the school today.

Mini CC still has a temp but no further spewing Praise the Lord. He's currently watching Peppa Pig

Weather is pants, house is messy, need to go tidy....

CaptainDippy · 29/06/2007 10:43

I like Peppa Pig!

DD's 2 & 3 sleeping (DD3 has gone down last 3 mornings, so thank you for prayers - hoping it will continue.....) DD1 at Pre-School. I am coming down a nasty stinky cold. Yuk!! I don't have time to be ill - argh!! I am feeling less tired this AM though, which is strange as DD3 was up at 5ish feeding & then DD1 was up at 6 - Bleurgh!! So it must be your prayers - Thank you!! Also, put Steriod cream on my skin last night (something I am loathe to do..) & skin is heaps better this AM, which is nice.

@ tickets for SA over Christmas Tasja!! Wonderful news- Praise God! Continuing to pray that childminding work would come in soon & you could stay & positive. xx

bobsmum - Praise God Neil is out of hospital - just praying that this recent visit would be a real wake up call for him!! Praying he would "slow down" considerably and rest in God's prescence a while ..... Praying for your household too, esp for you & DH - must be tough atm. {{{{{hugs}}}}} Praying you would get some time together soon sweetie. Would LOVE to see R's solo singing - awwwww, how LOVELY!! Do post a link when you get a chance ......

Sooooooooz - Glad DD managed to get off the TV eventually - "ickle pickle"!!!? How's the business going? Guessing the weather isn't helping atm, Poop.

Fellow Captain - Praying the assignment would be finished in a Blaze of Glory sooooooon! Glad DS is feeling a little better now, not nice (for you, or him!!) @ the horrid feeling about your DSis - sounds like a 'phone call of reassurance is needed - praise God for your parents being willing to have her live with them, can't be easy - praying for strength for them. how is your DNiece? Lots of prayers.

DutchOma - I use Terries & I think they are MARVELLOUS so pleased Urban got some! Great news on Janipher too, praying for protection & positvity.....

Rosey - Glad that the appt went well, as a sufferer myself, she is v.much in my thoughts & prayers. Praying the 'phone call from the nurse is a real breakthrough!! Keep us posted.....

DD3 whimpering. So best dash ......

ZipadiSuzy · 29/06/2007 12:13

CD - thanks, yip weather a bit in the way of DH doing his gardening, he's just managing, which is more than I can say for myself.

I don't seem to be managing the twins easily atm, they are getting up to mischief, I'm sorting one out and the other gets in a fix, I'm sure they work it between them and take turns.

I've put a tent up in the house for them to play in today, took me 40 minutes!! put books, toys and cushions in, made it all cosy. huh! 10 minutes later they'd had enough! "I GIVE IN"

I'll be pleased to get to work tonight, might get a bit of peace!

ZipadiSuzy · 29/06/2007 12:14

"POOP POOP"

CaptainDippy · 29/06/2007 12:53

Poop indeed Sooz hon. xx {{{{hugs}}} It ain't easy this parenting lark, is it!!? Sigh. I particularly admire you - coping with toddler twins AND the demands of an older child AND A DH!! You are a star & God loves you, precious child.

Gotta dash ..... praying.......

OP posts:
ZipadiSuzy · 29/06/2007 13:36

CD - thank you for that encouragement - you are at a more demanding stage in family life, you are the 'superwoman' I'm just a moaner and a lazy moo, and expect the twins to play for '1' moment without ME!!

Right, Ive taken the cheats way out and have now put on cbeebies for rest and chocolate time! yummy!!!!

So I have time for a few quiet prayers before work

ZipadiSuzy · 29/06/2007 13:42

This was in our local 'church magazine'

THE MOBILE PHONE v THE BIBLE

What would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our mobile phone?

What if we carried it around in our bags or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to fetch it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it as if we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to our children as a gift?

What if we used it when we travelled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

Unlike our mobile, we don't have to worry about our Bible being "disconnected" because of an unpaid bill.

Jesus has already paid the bill.

In full.

And just think - no missed calls!

God hears them all!
