NIGHT PRAYER

Comfort me with Your love O God
Wrap me up in Your strong embrace
Shelter me from the storm O Lord
Envelop me in Your tender care
By day I pour out my heartbreak to You
By night I give you my racing thoughts
In You I take refuge
In You I will not be afraid
For you hold me strong, You hold me safe
Calm my fearful heart O God
Still my anxious mind O Lord
For all my life is found in You
All my being is given to You
All my hope begins in You

Prayer found on web.dawesvillecps.wa.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/17th-September.pdf

I found this prayer on Facebook and tought it was a beautiful way to start the new prayer thread.

There was a beautiful picture with it too, but I don’t know how to transfer that.

Oh Larry that is good news. I was thinking of you all on Friday. What a long day for you. And God bless the NHS staff.

Dutchoma · 06/08/2019 20:52

Larry Very glad to hear the operation went ahead and that he is now home. I will go on praying that he recovers really well and that there is no more cancer left. Thanks for the update.

@larry55 prayers for your DS's recovery.
Minor compared to health worries but may I ask for everyone's prayers for my daughter who is doing her UCAT medical school exam tomorrow that she succeeds in her dream to become a doctor? A really good score would help her greatly to progress.
Thank you all.

So social worker told me today that they consider the time they spend with me to not be a good enough use of their time. Am devastated. For eight months they've lied they never said that about me and had no problem seeing me.

Monday is the anniversary of my aunts suicide. Social worker was meant to see me that day to discuss she knew how important it was to me at least I told her it was.

Dutchoma · 09/08/2019 17:41

Prayers for your daughter Piggy that she may perform to the best of her ability.

Becca Well, you have found meeting with them very difficult, you feel they have lied to you, you don’t find anything they have to offer helpful, so maybe you would be better off without them. It’s disappointing of course to feel ‘discarded’, but in the end it might be for the best. Anniversaries of this kind are always traumatic, but there is nothing much a social worker can do about it. You are in my prayers.

Without them I lose my benefits and only income. I can't work.
That's why I continued seeing them. Because I had no choice.

Becca19962014 · 09/08/2019 17:50

It's the fact she lied that hurts.

Dutchoma · 09/08/2019 17:58

Yes, I can understand that.

Thank you @Dutchoma - much appreciated. It is a hard road and I pray that God guides her heart, head and hand as she progresses through the paper today. Amen.
@Becca19962014 - I remember the tragic situation with your Aunt and that you have not had the support you deserved. I pray that changes.

Becca19962014 · 10/08/2019 10:46

Thankyou piggy

I'm sorry for my selfishness yesterday. I pray she'll be a kind and compassionate dr when she qualifies.

Madhairday · 16/08/2019 10:00

Good morning! Hope everyone is doing well. Thrilled in the MHD household that DD got her first choice uni place confirmed yesterday with the grades she needed. She's very excited - and I feel excited for her , and also mixed about her leaving!

Lisette1940 · 16/08/2019 10:02

Hurrah MHD - that's truly great news!

I know you'll miss her but she'll return with expaned horizons and all sorts of stories.

larry5 · 16/08/2019 12:39

Well done MHD daughter. I can remember very well how quiet it seemed when dd went off to uni but you do adjust and they seem to come back regularly with a pile of washing!

Lisette1940 · 16/08/2019 13:24

expanded horizons i meant.

Hope your son is recuperating well larry5. we're never done caring for them or looking out for them. This afternoon's been dominated by missing junior swim goggles - evaporated!

Lisette1940 · 16/08/2019 13:25

Dutchoma · 16/08/2019 19:12

How is everyone?
I caught an infection on holiday, a shock after a few weeks feeling well. It's most annoying!
Love to all.

Dutchoma · 25/08/2019 13:39

I hope you are soon feeling better MHD and that it didn’t spoil your holiday too much.

I am on holiday in Holland at the moment, I have been on a Rhine cruise where among other sights we visited the Dom in Cologne. Probably the highlight of the holiday as the rest was just eating and sleeping (not very well).

Madhairday · 01/09/2019 10:10

That sounds lovely, Oma, though sorry your sleep wasn't very good. Are you home now?
I thought I was getting better but it hit back again, so still poorly and a bit fed up, missing church again today :(

Dutchoma · 01/09/2019 12:44

That’s sad to hear MHD, I was just wondering whether you had recovered a bit. Not being able to go to church is such a loss.

I am home now and glad to be back. Next week all routine things will start up again. It’s nice to have a break, but I’ll also nice to do all favourite things again.

Hello everyone! Sorry I think it’s been over a year since I was on here. Life is generally good, busy and very full!

Prayers for all returning to school or college this week. My two are entering yr6 and yr3. DS had a tricky year last year as he developed significant anxiety (triggered by dealing with the deaths of his great granny and grandad). It took a while but the school supported him in the end with some CBT and I’m really proud of how he learnt to deal with his emotions and has grown up in the last few months. Things still aren’t perfect but he’s managing so much better. I just hope the pressures of yr6 and SATs don’t impact him in the year ahead.
Needless to say, DD is still her confident, feisty, sunny self!

MHD - sorry to hear of your continued health struggles.

DO - sounds like a lovely trip

Dutchoma · 02/09/2019 21:55

Lovely to ‘see’ you SES.

Madhairday · 06/09/2019 13:26

Hello @SESthebrave - so great to see you! I really hope your ds gets on well in y6, good to hear the school have been supportive. Sounds like it's been a difficult year. Flowers

How are you, Oma?

Still not so great here, infection came back, but better than it was.

Love to hear how everyone is - BES, Becca?

BlackeyedGruesome · 13/09/2019 07:05

Sorry you have been unwell again MHD.

Been an exhausted summer here. Sleeping more than normal. We have started the term with a lump. Two week referral. Phone call with appointment due today or Monday. Sil can only come one day. Hoping someone from church can come the others.

Dutchoma · 13/09/2019 07:36

That’s difficult news BES. Prayers that arrangements can be sorted at least and that the lump is not a bad one.
