NIGHT PRAYER

Comfort me with Your love O God
Wrap me up in Your strong embrace
Shelter me from the storm O Lord
Envelop me in Your tender care
By day I pour out my heartbreak to You
By night I give you my racing thoughts
In You I take refuge
In You I will not be afraid
For you hold me strong, You hold me safe
Calm my fearful heart O God
Still my anxious mind O Lord
For all my life is found in You
All my being is given to You
All my hope begins in You

Prayer found on web.dawesvillecps.wa.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/17th-September.pdf

I found this prayer on Facebook and tought it was a beautiful way to start the new prayer thread.

There was a beautiful picture with it too, but I don’t know how to transfer that.

Thanks for the new thread.

Becca19962014 · 25/10/2018 15:09

It is indeed a lovely prayer. Thankyou for sharing it.

I've been listening to prayers and services online over the last few days in bed. I've never thought of looking on YouTube for services and prayers before. Some are lovely. I found a mass dedicated purely to those able to watch via YouTube and it was so lovely as usually if they're recorded I find myself thinking I should be in church as o can see people there.

I'm still unwell, appreciating all prayers.

HauntedForestier · 25/10/2018 15:43

Lovely prayer Dutchoma. Prayers for your health Becca and also MHD.

Rebecca36 · 27/10/2018 03:01

A lovely prayer, thank you.
I also recommend Psalm 131.

ohlittlepea · 27/10/2018 03:14

Love that prayer. Just what I needed to read right now.

Dutchoma · 27/10/2018 07:13

Yes, Ps 131: I have stilled and quieted my soul, like weaned child with his mother. There is so much about stillness in the Bible. Thank you Rebecca36.
ohlittlepea nice name. Welvome if you are new, welcome back if a namechange.

Thanks for pointing Psalm 131 out Rebecca. I didn't know that one.

Becca19962014 · 27/10/2018 09:29

My personal favourite psalm is 121. I love reading the psalms generally!

Madhairday · 27/10/2018 11:26

Thank you for the thread and the beautiful prayer, Oma. Much appreciated.

Becca - prayers continuing for you. How are you today?

I'm still struggling with infection. 6 weeks in. Very bored of it! I have the book launch in two weeks so would love to get some energy and release in time for it. It's all coming round so quickly now. Very excited but also terrified! I just pray the book will speak to people where they are at and help people.

Becca19962014 · 27/10/2018 13:22

Am still ill - like you I'm really sick of it, as well as terrfied it could collapse at anytime, every time I feel wobbly or cough I wonder if this is it. I went out today, really overdid it though I saw a couple of people I've not seen for ages so having lunch then bed I think.

Thankyou all for your prayers. I'm sorry for being so needy.

HauntedForestier · 27/10/2018 17:36

I'll keep you both in my prayers for speedier recovery. It's so isolating too. Hard work being ill

HauntedForestier · 31/10/2018 14:24

Thinking and praying in particular at this time of year of Z and M who died earlier this year. Both very dear to me. Prayers offered for those on the thread, posters and lurkers, who are recently bereaved and/or who have lost dear ones in the more distant past.

"[For all our departed brothers and sisters]
Merciful Father,
hear our prayer
and console us.
As we renew
our faith in Your Son,
whom You raised from the dead,
strengthen our hope
that all our departed brothers and sisters
will share in His resurrection,
who lives and reigns
with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen"

P.M.fuckingT

though tension does not convey the feeling at all. not a powerful enough word.

nomoreusernamesfree · 31/10/2018 22:30

Hello could I join the thread please - beautiful prayer

Becca19962014 · 31/10/2018 23:45

Of course, everyone is welcome here.

I'm still unwell and now have a lump in my neck as well. Seeing GP tomorrow. I'd appreciate prayers, if anyone sees this. I'm lurking more than posting at the moment as I'm struggling with MN, but I'm remembering you all in your needs and the kindnesses you've shown to me.

Donhill · 01/11/2018 06:02

De-lurking again to say Becca i’m praying for you now. I pray God is with you and you feel the comfort and reassurance of his love and that your worries are eased at the appointment.

Dutchoma · 01/11/2018 08:08

Welcome to all newbies and (de) lurkers.
Praying for all needs, there is a lot of it about.

“Fear not, “says the Lord, “for I am with you”

Thankyou. It didn't go well, I need a lot of tests but they'll take months maybe even a year. I don't know how I can face this long term.

BlackeyedGruesome · 02/11/2018 15:04

off to mothers. motorway driving. flat tyre this morning now fixed. hoping for a safe journey and not too much stress. must check key before we leave.

Becca19962014 · 02/11/2018 20:18

I hope your journey was safe and not too tiring.

Dutchoma · 02/11/2018 21:46

Hopefully you find your mother as well as can be and the weekend is not too tiring.

OP posts:
Becca19962014 · 02/11/2018 21:55

I too hope your mother is as well as she can be and the weekend goes as well as it can.

BlackeyedGruesome · 04/11/2018 22:56

home.

shattered.

mum was ok for her. enjoyed being out. she now has a downstairs room so any grandpas great escape escapades no longer need rope and crampons.

got to part of the service at church, sent ds off with his dad for the day and dd finsihed her homework project.

having a day without ds and being at home doing washing not a lot seems to have worked better than arriving home late on a sunday.

how is everyone?

Becca19962014 · 04/11/2018 23:14

I've had a bad day today, not been out except to the bin, am struggling a lot mentally, am frightened of everything.

Dutchoma · 05/11/2018 07:41

Let us praise the Lord together.

Because He is a great God.

Because it may still be dark and not properly get light all day, the Light of the World is coming.

Because He heals all our infirmities.

Because He is always with us.

Let us praise the Lord together.
