NIGHT PRAYER

Comfort me with Your love O God
Wrap me up in Your strong embrace
Shelter me from the storm O Lord
Envelop me in Your tender care
By day I pour out my heartbreak to You
By night I give you my racing thoughts
In You I take refuge
In You I will not be afraid
For you hold me strong, You hold me safe
Calm my fearful heart O God
Still my anxious mind O Lord
For all my life is found in You
All my being is given to You
All my hope begins in You

Prayer found on web.dawesvillecps.wa.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/17th-September.pdf

I found this prayer on Facebook and tought it was a beautiful way to start the new prayer thread.

There was a beautiful picture with it too, but I don’t know how to transfer that.

Oh thank you mhd. She's a friend from Uni who's getting married. She's recovered from breast cancer and when I got the invite I knew I would go. DH and Ds are going too.

Dutchoma · 20/07/2019 07:34

You’ll probably find that it seems as if you met last week, Lisette when you catch up with your friend. Old friends are like that.

Some of you may remember me asking for prayers for my son who has kidney cancer. They will be removing his kidney, the adrenal glands and nearby lymph nodes finally after various delays. The hope is that he won’t need any more treatment as they don’t think it has spread from the kidney.

We were meant to be going on holiday with dd, sil and dgs today but, my sil who suffers with depression took an overdose yesterday and is still in hospital so we will not be able to go. Please pray for him especially but for all of us. I don’t know how much more I can cope with as dh has to have a minor op in three weeks an I am torn in so many directions at the moment.

Madhairday · 22/07/2019 09:23

Oh goodness @larry55, that's all just too much, isn't it. Praying for peace for you, for the surgery to go well, for your sil and your DH as well. May you know the peace of God which passes all understanding today and find moments of light in darkness Flowers

I'm praying for a very dear friend who's DH has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It's a hideous shock Sad I would appreciate any prayers you could spare.

Love to all of you.

Dutchoma · 22/07/2019 09:34

Posts like that make my heart ache for you and prayer goes out almost instantly as a result.
Cancer is such a bastard MHD and more of it seems to be about. Prayers for you and for your friend and her husband.

*larry, yes I remember and was wondering how things were getting on. Prayers for you all and especially for your sil who must have a lot going on in her life to come to such a desperate step.
Also, of course, for all the rest of the family and for you that you will be able to draw strength from God.

My son in law is home from hospital but doesn’t remember much. He has been extra stressed and not told anyone and all her embers he that he wanted to sleep. He has seen the mental health doctor and has been referred back to his go. Hopefully he will get the support he needs.

We have cancelled our holiday but can’t praise eurotunnel enough as we bought the ticket with club card vouchers which usually means we would lose it but they have booked provisional tickets for next April. There are some sympathetic businesses around.

Dutchoma · 22/07/2019 19:48

I hope your son-in-law gets all the support he needs. Very glad that you holiday is ‘on ice’ so to speak.

Please pray for all who are ill in this weather we are having and that it soon breaks.

I'm finding it very difficult, no food or meds for me today it's just too hot. I overslept and by the time I was ready to go out opened the door and was met with a wall of heat so now even hotter inside than before. There's a thread on MN for people who are struggling and a lot of people in need of prayers for conditions that are worsening due to weather.

Lisette1940 · 28/07/2019 21:17

saying a prayer for everyone esp Larry and her family. Hope you get some relief Becca - it is really hot indeed.

Lisette1940 · 28/07/2019 21:18

I keep thinking of Ice cold in Alex [beer emoticon] Grin

Becca19962014 · 28/07/2019 21:42

It's been horrendous. Though it's much cooler outside, inside still hitting high temp. Had a dreadful day and been unable to get out aside from going into front of house, that took all my effort today. Praying for a good nights rest and ability to concentrate on my prayers and, have restful sleep and dreams.

Praying for all here.

Dutchoma · 29/07/2019 07:33

Good morning everyone. Thinking of you all. MHD at New Wine, Becca in her hot room, hopefully it has cooled off now, it rained here all day yesterday and Saturday, but the sun is shining again.
Praying for Larry and Masie.
And praying for BES and her children and all who once were part of this thread.

Becca19962014 · 29/07/2019 09:37

It'll take days to cool off inside as the sun is still shining even if the temp outside is a bit more manageable unfortunately due to the nature of the building.

larry5 · 30/07/2019 12:49

Dd , sil and dgc went off to France on Friday so they have managed to have a holiday. We didn't go with them but we have had a few nights in Cardiff where I revisited my heritage, (I am half welsh) and we were very fortunate with the weather being able to be out and about without needing coats at all.

We are now home getting the washing done before we head up to London to be with our ds whose operation is on Friday. Please pray for us all at this difficult time.

Dutchoma · 30/07/2019 16:22

Will do larry. Glad you managed to get some time away without being too hot.

OP posts:
Lisette1940 · 30/07/2019 17:59

Larry I will say a prayer for a successful operation in Friday. As it happens on that day I'll be attending the wedding of a dear friend who is now cancer-free. God bless her and your son. X

Hope New wine is going well for MHD.

Lisette1940 · 02/08/2019 07:25

Prayers for you and your son Larry. May all go well for the operation today.

Dutchoma · 02/08/2019 07:47

Larry prayers from me too that the operation goes ahead and is successful.

Prayers for you and your son Larry

Madhairday · 04/08/2019 09:43

How did it go, Larry?

I've had the most amazing week at New Wine. Beautiful worship, exceptional teaching, fab to catch up with friends. I feel very refreshed and expectant. Sad to come home (although not to my bed!)

How is everyone? Love to you all.

Lisette1940 · 04/08/2019 11:48

I'm so glad MHD. And Larry, ai hope it went well.

Trip home seems to be as spiritually refreshing as New Wine for MHD. It was a real psychological help to reconnect. I needed psychological help 😄🤣

Dutchoma · 04/08/2019 19:32

Very glad you both had good trips Lisette and MHD.
TUO came to visit me on Friday, a journey of almost three hours. We had a blessed time. She is taken up with too much real life to come back to MN.

OP posts:
Becca19962014 · 06/08/2019 13:48

Sorry for not being around much.
I continue to keep you all in my prayers,

Lisette1940 · 06/08/2019 16:18

hope you're not too hot where you are. Home at last.

larry55 · 06/08/2019 19:52

Ds was lucky to have his op Friday. It was only because it had been postponed before that they went ahead as the operation before him was more complicated than expected and they had to ask staff to work late.

He is recovering well and came out of hospital yesterday. He is now staying with us to convalesce and relieved that it is now over. He will have a follow up in 6 weeks when they will tell him how bad the cancer was and if he needs any more treatment - hopefully everything has been removed and he shouldn’t need any more.

Thank you all so much for your prayers they have given so much support over this difficult time.
