Signing in :)

I'm mid forties too! And indeed feeling it.

Edd, I think you will love GB. I'd like to go again as I went a lot as a teenager. But it's just one thing too many with finances etc. I am going to New Wine as usual which I adore.

Love the tryptych!

Sorry things are still rubbish Nickel and grrrr about the website Angry

Things OK here. Lungs on the up at last, have been for a stroll in the sunshine today. Looking forward to church tomorrow.

Glad your lungs are on the up, mhd Smile
No worries about the meetup idea folks, just thought I'd ask. I hope to go to Greenbelt, maybe camping or just for a day or two.

Hello everyone!

Edd I love that triptych. That is very special. I love praying with images and objects. I'm hatching a plan with a friend of mine to do a book with images and prayers (me to write the prayers). What do people think?

MHD glad to hear your lungs are on the mend finally. Nickel sorry to hear the Saints saga is still ongoing. And hello to Double, Broomstick, Pickle and anyone I've missed, and thank you to Oma for starting the thread.

I'd love to go to Greenbelt but with needing to cover Sunday and a cricket match on the Monday it won't be possible again this year.

Only two weeks now till priesting, eek eek. I have my interview with the bishop first thing on Monday morning (great timing, bishop - not).

I've met niminy too, and know one or two others on FB. Happy to connect with anyone else IRL who wants to.

Niminy the book sounds lovely. Hope all goes well with the bishop this morning.

I managed to run the car into the back of another car on the way to the bishop's, other car dented ours immobilised. Got to the bishop's courtesy of the recovery people and spent most of my interview in the edge of tears.

That was not a great morning!

Oh, Niminy! What a horrible start to your day. I hope that you are feeling a bit better now and that the bishop was nice.

Ah Niminy! What a thing to happen! I hope he was able to see past the upset to the wonderful candidate you are.

And it's so inconvenient managing the practical side, too.

Thank you all. Still feeling a bit quite a lot shaky and foolish, but thanking God neither I nor anyone else was hurt. And the recovery people were very sweet and the bishop kind. Still waiting to hear what the damage to the car is.

And I can confirm that I WILL be being ordained priest on 1st July, and presiding for the first time the following day.

I would love to have another meet-up if it could happen, also happy to connect via fb - I know Oma, MHD and Edd on fb. In the meantime this is a lovely online space.

I'm so excited about the priesting , Niminy. And the presiding. How are you feeling about it all?

Yey to the priesting and many commiserations on the accident. I'm in contact with MHD and Niminy on FB but I'm up,for a meeting if that is at all possible. I used to do greenbelt until they moved into a field and loved it as I spent most of the time in the tiny tea tent meeting up with people from all over the country. How about somewhere in the midlands with a garden to walk around and somewhere to have tea?

Report
Madhairday · 19/06/2017 19:10

That sounds lovely greenheart. Like a national trust house, or something like Birmingham botanical gardens?

Report
Niminy · 19/06/2017 19:33

What a lovely idea! If we started far enough in advance hopefully something would be possible. Birmingham is a good place for people who don't drive - that's where Oma was suggesting. The Botanical gardens are lovely. Maybe because it is so hot I am finding the picture of us all in a lovely, green and flowery yet shady place, having tea and cake and chilling out together very alluring!
