HI guys, still reading the tread and not posting much! Really praying for all the marriages represented on this thread.... DH and I used to help run the Marriage Prep Course at Church - we used the Nikki and Sila Lee Marriage book.... it was a great time for us and we used to use it as a time to check things were OK... perhaps we need to revisit it too!

LWTG - I am originally from Warrington and so know Chester and N Wales quite well great place....

Praying for work situations for FA and MAry too...

I'd like prayer for getting rid of a virus that's lingering and causing cold and coldsores which are particularly painful - also for energy this 1/2 term with the 3 DCs

GhostOfJuliet · 12/02/2007 21:54

can i ask for prayer for my church. we have moved out of our building and looking for a new place. money is a very big issue since we only have about 30 members, most of which are in their 70's.

we are having a concert on Friday 23rd Feb to raise some funds. the wind band that i play in are playing. we were hoping for a good number of tickets to be sold and although we have sold 90 we would've liked to have more people there.

please pray that we get a last minute rush of people aqsking for tickets. and if you know of anyone in the clydebank area of glasgow then ask them if they'd like to come along.

i can get information to you, no problem

thanks

Been to 'Catch' tonight - fab!

Hijack over

CaptainCaveman · 13/02/2007 07:44

Goooood Morning!

I do hope everyone can have some of my lovely jolliness - I really am rather enjoying life . Meds reduction continues to go well, still feeling a little vague at times and fatigued but apparently normal 'withdrawal' effects (I sound like a druggy!!).

I went out to eat with another man last night . Even had dh's permission!! He used to be my line manager about 5 years ago and our team got on really well. Lost touch but the he emailed me last week. It was so nice to catch up.
I also caught up with an old girlfriend whom I haven't seen for 7 years - I googled her! Again, so nice to catch up.

I really feel like God is blessing me by re-introducing all those people who have been so dear to me but for some reason I have lost along the way. Thank You, thank you, thank you God!! Life is GOOD .

Anyway, enough about how nauseatingly happy I am feeling -
Praying for each and everyone of you in our fellowship, that you may cast your cares onto God and that you feel His caring, calming presence, and are blessed with the resources you need to help your situation. God bless you all

xxx

MaryBS · 13/02/2007 08:07

CCM - shocked at you seeing another man, even WITH DH's permission!

Your happiness is infectious! I can feel God's love radiating out from you!

GOJ, praying for you and your church. Any chance of you helping Him along a little, maybe getting it featured on local radio? Will pray that it's a success!

MaryBS · 13/02/2007 08:14

Oh, and CD, PLEASE report in to tell us how you and bump are!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the long silence again - we've been moving and are now back home in Aberdeen. It's amazing how much stuff you gather in a year and the last couple of weeks have been hectic with packing, aided/hindered by an ever so helpful toddler!

Not had time to read down and need to head out shortly so will up-date quickly and read back over thread later.

Move went ok, really missing everyone in Dumfries and finding it harder than expected to settle home. Dh sat and passed the first part of his part3 surgical exam yesterday - thank you God! Just the clinical part to go. My driving test was cancelled due to Dumfries having the only foggy day it's had in many a month so am waiting to re-book.

20 week scan went ok, need to go back at 24 weeks for additional scan as baby's kidneys measuring bigger than should. Been told not to worry so trying not to until the next scan.

Lots of prayers for dd please, she fell off our bed yesterday and has cut the inside of her mouth, has wide gash in tongue from top 4 teeth and a bruised chin. Very sore, not able to eat much, very scarey at the time as lots of blood and trip to a&e ensued. All slept badly last night and the poor wee thing is just exhausted today. Was just nice that dh passed exam so the day wasn't a total write off!

Check back in later, God bless!

roseylea · 13/02/2007 13:35

HI Twiga my MIL was from Dumfries and we had
so many really happy times there - I can see why you miss it!

Hope you settle in Aberdeen quickly.

HI to everyone else too!

GhostOfJuliet · 13/02/2007 13:57

we have adverts in the papers and contacted the local radio stations. i am about to go along my street and put fliers through the doors. many of the people in the church have done the same thing. we also contacted the other churches in the area. some have been more interested than others. all the churches in c/bank are very close and we have many joint services throughout the year.

i am ghostofmumsnet and i used to be MoreTeaAnyone

roseylea · 13/02/2007 14:32

hello again,

I'm having a bad day...please could you pray. I feel like I'm driving myself mad. This is all a bit much to explain right now, but I had quite a traumatic time about 5 yrs ago, just before I fell pg with dd. Our marriage really suffered at the time and without going into the whole story, it involved us having to leave somewhere we really loved, really against my wishes. I prayed so much that we wouldn't have to leave but we ended up having to, and at the time I felt that praying was a waste of time...very angry at God.

I really didn't want to come back to where we are now. I've tried to be positive, make the most of it, make new friends etc but recently I've realised how much resentment and sadness I'm still carrying around, and that's at the heart of why I haven't 'settled down' and that's why I'm craving that sense of being settled and belonging. I am praying it through and each time the traumatic memories surface I am praying for God to cleanse and heal and forgive but it all just feels a bit much atm. I'm so on edge today and I'm finding the dcs very irritating - but that's because of me, not them.

So could you please pray? Dh has got this week off work but he's off fixing the car again today (yes, it is still off the road ) and we tried to talk at lunchtime but the dcs had the most dreadful tantrums so we abandoned any attempt at communication.

Thanks for praying. Hopefully I will come through this - I want to be fully reconciled to my past iyswim. I do still feel that I have a sense of vocation, but of course there's no way I can help anyone else until I let God sort me out!

MaryBS · 13/02/2007 15:31

Rosey, if you want to email me, feel free "suttonmb" "at" "talktalk" "dot" "net".

As for your vocation, I thought I had too many issues to deal with, which is why I kept asking "God, are you sure you want me". Yet he did a wonderful healing job on me, things I thought would NEVER heal... the day that application went in.

I, like you, needed to feel that I belonged somewhere, and now I do. I could ramble on a bit more about this, but if you want to take it to email, I'd love to hear from you.

Twiga, praying for you and DD too!

CD - glad to hear bumps OK, just you take care of YOURSELF!!! {hug}

roseylea · 13/02/2007 18:32

Mary you're going to regret saying that!

There's a mammoth e-mail awaiting you...

mumtogusnalbie · 13/02/2007 19:36

LWTGO - how are things today? glad I didn't offend you. For us money wasn't really an issue because I was paying for everything anyway and my husband wasn't working so he moved home to his mums. He came over on Saturday to see the kids but left about 4.00pm because he was going to the pub for the landlords sons 21st birthday - not sure how old he thinks he is but at last count I make him 39 (time to grow up I think!). His mum was looking after the kids today while i went to work and he was still there when I got there - apparently he was out drinking again last night so wasn't going to work - a lost cause IMO.

GhostofJuliet - really hope your church concert goes well and raises much needed funds - prayers for you all.

CaptainCaveman - I'd love some of your happiness - could you package it up and send some?!!

Podmog - hope your DS1 feels better soon and George sounds like a little sweetheart - I'm mildly jealous - not that I want to go back to the baby stages again!!

CaptainDippy - really glad to hear that baby is ok and sad to hear about your anemia - iron tablets are so horrid! I pray that your iton levels increase and that you begin to feel more human (when is baby due by the way?).

Turiga - good luck in re-booking your driving test - hope it's not a long wait. I'm sure your baby is fine and that the 24 week scan will just be routine. your poor DD, I posted on a different thread last night about co-sleeping and mentioned my youngest S falls out of bed but because he is so relaxed he has never hurt himself - fingers crossed he never does. Hope your DD will be feeling better soon and has a good nights sleep tonight - congratulations on DH exam and good luck with the next part.

Roseylea - obviously don't know your circumstances but I am praying for you and hope God offers you guidance and healing .

And in my household - well as I mentioned earlier in my post my estranged husband has been drinking twice in the last week - not the actions of a man wanting to come home IMO, so I think the time has come to say enough is enough. A line has to be drawn somewhere. I just don't want to feel like I am giving up on my marriage but at the moment I really don't have the will to fight for it any longer especially when things feel so one sided. If he has money to spend in the pub - why doesn't he give me some for the kids?

PandaG · 13/02/2007 20:10

praying for you all

Rosey - if Mary is ever not around, and you want to chat it is pandag at safe-mail dot net.
not got the same experience, but happy to listen and pray.

GHostofJuliet - praying you get more support for your concert, and thanks for filling me in on your previous id.

Notquitesotiredmum · 13/02/2007 21:27

Flying by in the middle of our half term - very very hectic, so general prayers for you all.

CD - how is your book group friend? She has suddenly popped into my mind.

God bless all.

CaptainCaveman · 13/02/2007 22:17

mumtogusnalbie - if I could package my happiness I would most willingly share it with everyone! Been through some very tough times, dealing with panic attacks and going to counselling to talk about me being sexually abused. Phew. Tough old times there for the past 17 months, and on and off for past 6 years.
Wow. Feels so good to feel so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amen.

CaptainCaveman · 13/02/2007 22:18

not quite sure where the big blank came from in that post!

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 13/02/2007 22:45

twiga my dd's kidneys measured bigger than they should on 20 wk scan. Had to go back 4 wks later and consultant said oh thats nothing to worry about they are within the perimiter just a bit bigger than they should be. He said oh registars just air on the side of caution adn refer you back. 4 weeks earlier they were talking about having to scan her at birth by the time we saw the consultant she was fine and didn't need any follow up.

She is 4 now and is absolutely fine.

Hopefully it will be the same for you.

CaptainDippy · 14/02/2007 07:56

MaryBS · 14/02/2007 12:34

Just a quick visit, sneaking on at work! I've heard from CD. She could use your prayers. After taking the iron tabs, she felt dizzy and sick. I suspect as a result of the tablets - lets pray that they're the cause and that the feeling will pass quickly. I THINK she's gone to get checked out...
