MaryBS · 11/02/2007 12:28

This is what happens when I take 24 hours away from MN!

Please rest assured I am praying for you all, I've read through what everyone has put, but I have dinner to get ready, so this is a flying visit.

Take care and be easy on yourselves. CD - I will just say, get to see someone ASAP, don't leave it! And LWTG, if you want someone to talk to, over the phone, then I'm here, or if you want to email me, you can do that too. I think your counsellor should let you talk about whatever you want to talk about first, and only then go back over it and direct it along certain lines. I don't agree with what she's doing.

Better go - potatoes will be boiling over! But rest assured, the Lord will provide!

CaptainDippy · 11/02/2007 13:57

Hi Mary - good to "see" you - hope dinner was good!

Pain is still there but not as bad / uncomfortable - hurts when baby kicks me - ow!! About to call local unit and see if they are open today .... here's hoping .... Thank you for your prayers guys!

How is everyone today? How have people's weekends been? DD's sleeping, going shoe shopping when they wake up......

OP posts:
Notquitesotiredmum · 11/02/2007 15:12

LWTG - hope you are surviving your weekend, Hon.

Agree with Mary. and at the counsellor telling you that now isn't the time to deal with your self esteem issues! You are doing so much giving, and holding things together for your family. You deserve to deal with the things that you feel are important for you, when you want to. Any news on the relate counselling you were waiting on?

I was praying for you and felt strongly that I ought to recommend the Rita Bennett books to you: "You can be Emotionally Free" and "How to Pray for Inner Healing for Yourself and Others". I'll happily lend you my copy of the first one, if you CAT me with an address, although dh has just temporarily relocated our wardrobe infront of my bookshelf, so I'll have to dig it out!!! (Or both books are available via Amazon.) They deal with a prayer technique which applies when you have been hurt by things beyond your control - as, of course, that we all have to a lesser or greater extent, so anyone can use it. When you can't change the situation that is hurting you, especially events which happened long ago, you can pray Jesus right into the middle of it, and let Him hold you and speak to you then and there, and change your reactions to that situation.

I found it hugely, hugely helpful, as a prayer technique, (and it does tend to have very positive effects on self esteem too!!)

Hi to everyone else - especially Mumtogusandalbie - welcome aboard! Great to "see" you here. Glad the pain is getting better CD. Praying for you to get some reassurance soon.

Love to all. God bless.

mumtogusnalbie · 11/02/2007 19:34

Good evening everyone - thanks for the warm welcome you have extended to me! I went to church this morning and my boys stayed in Sunday School without me so it was the first time I actually managed to listen to the service!! Unfortunately, our Minister was not present this morning as his son (also a Minister) is back in hospital and about to start treatment for cancer (which has returned after a period of 3 years). He is due to start intensive chemotherapy tomorrow and will be subjected 3 six day courses over the coming weeks so your prayers for him and his lovely family would be very much appreciated.
My own home situation just doesn't seem to improve but I am putting the boys first and taking each day as it comes - ultimately I would like to be reunited with my DH but at the moment that just seems a million miles away and I am struggling to cope with uncertainty of it all.
Anyway - may God bless all on this site and also those of us on this thread.

weirdbird · 11/02/2007 19:38

Congratulations Podmog on the safe arrival of George William, have only just caught up the last week and a half have been mad!

Am just trying to catch up on all the events and will post more later, but also Congrats CD on passing your driving test!

We ended up in A&E with Hannah as she stopped feeding and so saw a Paed, and she is now on Ranitidine for reflux, the proper Tel appt is on Tuesday this week and I am hoping they will see her again quickly as I think she needs to be on a higher dose now, as she has gained a lot of weight since then, she will be 6 weeks on Wed and was 9lb 9 at birth and she is already over 12lb and that was a week ago!!!

I had my scan and all traces of placenta are gone which is graet news and I am feeling great these days, just need to shift all this baby weight and remember what sleep was again now...

CaptainDippy · 11/02/2007 20:50

Hello! Pain seems to have nearly gone now, so thank you for your prayers - Unit was shut again today and tonight, so had a chat with a MW friend and she told me they wouldn't do any more for me at the unit than she could over the phone - She said if there is no bleeding and Bean is bouncing away merrily, not to worry too much unless the pain becomes unbearable, in which case - get down to A&E - Thank you for your prayers - God has been so much present in this sitaution! Thinking it is just a pulled muscle - wish I could get the "R&R" my friend also suggested - no chance unfortunately.

Hello NQSTM!

MTG - You are welcome! Praying for your Minister's son and his family - a difficult time for them all. Praying the treatment is successful. Continuing to pray for your family situation too - keep posting here, it is great to have you as part of our community!

WeirdBird - Great to hear from you and good news about the retained placenta! Praying that this new course of meds for wee Hannah will do the trick for her reflux and feeding issues. Must be so hard and tiring for you hon. [[hugs]] Fab stuff that she is stacking on the oz's regardless though!!

Going to do a few bits and go to bed to try out new pillows I bought today!

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 11/02/2007 21:40

dh is home. I picked him up from the coach, he got in the car moaned a bit, I asked wht was the matter he said my shoulder kills and i'm tired. Tired he's been away for the w/e and had just sat on a coach for 4 hours doing bog all!!!!!

I had to go out to a divisional worship meeting tonight so went out nearly as soon as we got in. Came home about an hour ago and he is fast asleep on settee took three attempts to wake him, i went to make supper asked wht was matter and again got my shoulder hurts and i feel a bit sick, then he went back to sleep.

So he's seen the babies to put them to bed, but as for the older ones he's not spoken to them really.

He hasn't asked how my w/e has been, there wasn't even a hello when he got in the car. Begining to think that relate is going to be a waste of money.

mumtogusnalbie · 11/02/2007 21:45

sorry to hear that things haven't improved in your household. It is so hard to live in a house with an atmosphere - I did it for too long IMO and it was only when my husband moved out that I realised quite how bad it had been. Would that be an option for you both - could you live separately for a time to see if you could find some answers? That might be a completely inappropriate suggestion and I hope that it doesn't offend you - I just know that since living apart my DH and I have been able to see the wood for the trees.

weirdbird · 11/02/2007 22:24

CD - Glad you are feeling better this evening, but get yourself checked out as soon as you can! Will be praying for you and that someone is able to give you a break soon!

LWTG - I should remember this but where are you in the UK? Am still praying for you, but HUGS, your heavenly father can give you a Hug when you need one, just ask!

FA - I hope you have positive news when you hear from work

weirdbird · 11/02/2007 22:29

Sleepy sooz, whereabouts are you in the UK?

Would your DH consider trying to learn to read and write now? My mum teaches adults with learning difficulties, or have you already tried this?

Sorry if this seems out of line, it just seemed like something positive to try

sleepychunky · 12/02/2007 10:21

Hello everyone, just catching up with everything. I have read all the posts but am at work so can't reply to everyone individually.

Last week I posted saying how tired I was and how difficult my commuting was. Praise God I got a proper night's sleep last night for the first time in over a fortnight and even though I did wake up once, I got back to sleep really easily because DH wasn't snoring!

Things got better when there were some empty seats on my train, so I arrived at work raring to go. Even better to find that I had secured the charity I work for a grant of £20,000, which is an enormous amount of money for our little charity

Generally having a good day, but most of my colleagues are in real need of prayers. 3 of their fathers are currently in hospital, 2 dying from cancer and one critical after a heart attack on Thursday night and not expected to last past the next couple of days. Please pray for them all if you have the time.

Much love to you all
SC

CaptainDippy · 12/02/2007 10:44

Morning all - Pain is back with avengence and has moved - into my back (lower) and side - painful when I cough or generally do anything! Pretty convinced it is a pulled muscle and nothing to do with bubs directly - The PostNatal talk I'm doing for the NCT tonight is actually being held at our local maternity unit, so I'm going to call before I go and see if I can see someone tonight - Hope so!!

DD1 is at a friends and DD2 is napping, so catching up on here and then I am going to rest with Pain au Chocolat and "proper" coffee - It's going to be the only chance I get this week, I'm sure, so I am going to make the most of it! Mine and DH's good friend is coming to stay for the week, which is v.exciting! She is lovely, she doesn't have any children of her own, but her BF is a single mum of 2 and she helps her out loads. It'll be so nice to have an extra pair of hands and some company this week - Esp as it is 1/2 term so no Pre-School for DD2!!

Cough is still baaaad. Humph.

lwtg - How is DH this morning? Have you spoken yet? Praying for his shoulder to ease and, most of all, for the both of you - That you will find a place where you can talk honestly and openly. Praying God's Spirit is v.real in your household right now. [hugs]

SleepyChunky - Great stuff! Well Done on securing the grant and the seat on the train - and for the good night's sleep - Glad you are feeling more !! Praying for the people at work whose respective Father's are ungoing treatment for cancer / critical after heart attack - praying for healing and miracles. Keep us updated.

Hi WB!! How's you? How's wee H? Hoping this 1/2 term is a good one for you all!

roseylea · 12/02/2007 14:54

Hello all,

Just a quick hi really! Sorry to hear CD that your pain is worse. I hope that you can get some advice this evening! Enjoy the Pain au Chocolat! (I hope you have it warm - much nicer!)

Hi Sleepychunky - glad to hear that you're getting more sleep! I am a battleaxe if I don't get enough sleep!

Well things here are good (and extremely rainy! ) We had a fabulous meal out for our 10th wedding anniversary - it was a really special evening. I still feel that God is quite deep at work in me, helping me to deal with difficult stuff from the past. For the last few days I've felt so much more light-hearted than I have in a long time, and it feels like everywhere there are little mesages from God! (if that doesn't sound too odd...) Like as if the Bible were written just for me, to read right now, and every song on the radio is God singing to me. (agggh she's gone mad at last!)

MaryBS · 12/02/2007 16:36

I'm feeling a little low due to lack of sleep (DS was up all night, crying, on and off, couldn't find out why, he said he wasn't in pain). Plus I had a bad time at work today. I need to find another job, but there is so much involved, re: childcare and the like, I'm scared to make the move.

Please pray for strength and guidance for me

roseylea · 12/02/2007 16:39

I'm praying for you Mary!

PandaG · 12/02/2007 16:41

praying MAry

fannyannie · 12/02/2007 16:51

ooo sorry haven't been and updated for AGES!!

Just put an 'update' on my work situation on my thread about it (floating somehwere near the top of employment issues....feeling too lazy to post a link ).

DH and I getting on REALLY well - still nothing particularly 'romantic' and we've agreed that Valentines will be a 'nonevent' this year but he's now given me 3 spontaneous hugs in the last couple of weeks - so definitely making some sort of progress. We're just taking things very slowly I suppose like we'd just met.

Still need to call and make another Relate appointment - I really AM going to do it - but we've got loads of training at work ATM and it seems to be on the days when I could have gone to Relate.......I'll almost certainly call this week though as we have a couple of weeks 'gap' in the training schedules.

Think that's all for now.

mumtogusnalbie · 12/02/2007 19:13

Longwaytogo - I have been thinking about you all day and really hope that I did not offend you with my post last night. Hope you have had a good day today.

CaptainDippy - really hope your cough improves soon and glad to hear that you will have an extra pair of hands to help you out this week - when you have finished with your friend perhaps you will send her my way!!!

Mary - I will pray for you that God sends you guidance re your job (and allows you to have a better nights sleep tonight!) I had a real quandry regarding my job at the end of last year because I was really hoping to get made redundant and it didn't come off. I was hoping to get a local part time job and do an OU degree in Health and Social Welfare. My eldest son started school in January and I really wanted to be able to pick him up in the afternoon so made the difficult decision to reduce my hours - dreading the pay packet at the end of the month but am sure that God will be looking down on me and the boys. The degree is on hold for the moment but still someting I very much want to do in the future.

MaryBS · 12/02/2007 19:26

Thank you all for your prayers! Children are in bed now, so here's praying I get some peace!

mumtogusnalbie - thank you for your message of support, and welcome! (don't think I said that before ). My son started school last September, so they must be a similar age! Will pray that God works a miracle for you and you can do your course.

RL - I'm the same, I "hear" God in the songs on the radio - so if you're mad, we're both mad!

CD - hoping and praying you get sorted, and your talk goes well! I've still got my cough as well!

SC - way to go on getting all that funding! What a star! Praying for your colleagues' families

LWTG - praying for you and your DH

longwaytogoandabitfurther · 12/02/2007 20:29

mumtogusnalbie you haven't offended me at all. It is so difficult to see the woods for the trees and if money wasn't an issue he would have moved out weeks ago.

Just finding it so, so hard. Had to take him tot the station this morning before doing nursery drop off and going to work. work was good, but then ended up sitting in car for half hour with the babies who wanted teh toilet waiting for his train when it actually wasn't even due (my fault) misunderstood the time. He hasn't really spoken to me, but seems ok when the older two are around - just wait till they go to bed not another word will be spoken. grrrrr

Anyway someone asked where in the country I am - North Wales, not far from Chester.

MaryBS · 12/02/2007 20:54

LWTG - I really feel for you. I wish there was something I could say that would comfort you, but words seem so empty at times like this

My prayers are with you, anyhow...
