A lovely new thread to continue counting our blessings.

Everyone is welcome, of any faith or none at all. Just drop by to pause for a moment and think of what has made you smile or has gone well for you, however small it seems.

This surely can't be spring, there's a gale outside! Grin

gratitudes
a lovely home

KinkyDorito · 08/03/2015 08:49

It's certainly a grey-looking spring this morning Grin.

I love daffodils, crocuses and the feeling of possibility that comes with longer days and warmer weather. It makes me very Smile after what feels like a drawn-out winter. I'm sure it wasn't, but I've struggled with it this year.

I am grateful for these changes.

I am also grateful for my family, my home, my job (through gritted teeth Grin) and mugs of tea.

Yet to see blossom - hopefully will get a chance to get outside properly at weekend and look for it.

Lovely DH
Plentiful food
Cheesy novels in bed for the last couple of evenings. I've decided to go low-brow and it's been fab Grin.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 12/03/2015 21:16

Mmmm .... blossom ... flowers on the trees!

Counselling ... the simplicity and healing of listening

Good food for my family. Some wine too has been pleasant this evening

gratitudes

JugglingFromHereToThere · 14/03/2015 14:48

I've seen some early cherry blossom but I guess apple etc. will be out in April - the best month! Lovely to see some spring daffodils now too.

Other things to be grateful for today ...

Have a Brew and my favourite movie "Mr Bean's holiday" has come on the telly for classic Saturday afternoon viewing (with DS) - especially like the beginning with the church fete and raffle, and ending when Mr Bean sees the sea, and just watched the amazing busking scene too.

So generally for stories in whatever media - film and TV often under appreciated I think, even disparaged

Later going to a concert the DC are playing in. Lots of blessings in that and will be nice to see people, particularly as DH away for a few days.

Annunziata · 15/03/2015 20:38

Happy Mothers Day :)

I hope it was lovely and peaceful for you all xx

KinkyDorito · 16/03/2015 06:19

spring flowers

JugglingFromHereToThere · 18/03/2015 11:10

I bought a Big Issue in London the other day and was an interesting article in it which included the thought-provoking caption ...

"People connect food and water with survival. But sanitation is a blind spot. It's unsexy. People don't want to talk about it."
Therese Mahon, Water Aid

So today I'm being thankful for my loo and bathroom, as well as my kitchen with it's clean running water Thanks

Fink · 18/03/2015 12:27

I know it sounds weird, but I'm grateful for being literate. Had I been born in another place or another time, the likelihood of a woman of my class ever being taught to write are low ... so I thank God that I can pick up a pen and write away without even giving it a second thought. :-)

stressedHEmum · 18/03/2015 13:34

Sanitation and literacy are both things to be very grateful for, I think. We take such things or granted but we really are very blessed in this country to have privileges like these easily available.

gratitudes -
SUNSHINE Grin
spring flowers
birds and their singing

OP posts:
Annunziata · 20/03/2015 20:14

guidance and faith when things get a bit much
St Joseph the adoptive father
sunshine
mad children whose latest escapades have included making a hair conditioner out of a bottle of honey and a bottle of olive oil Hmm

JugglingFromHereToThere · 20/03/2015 20:28

The combined blessings of seeing the eclipse in my back garden this morning, and attending a beautiful funeral service this afternoon with dd, have meant today has been a day of spiritual comfort - the readings and music were really lovely and it was good too to talk with friends afterwards. We went to support others really, but ended up being supported and blessed ourselves too.

Have also felt that spring has really sprung with the warm sunshine and beautiful spring flowers I've seen today. This is always such a blessing to me Thanks

Annunziata · 21/03/2015 16:32

gratitudes
a glorious day
the honey and oil coming out
forever families

Fink · 21/03/2015 20:32

Honey and oil sounds like a relatively intelligent combo for conditioner, well done your scientifically minded dc! I remember trying to make perfume as a child by crushing rose petals and adding water; it was rank.

Gratitudes:
a good confession
chat with dm
pleasant lunch with dd and ex-h
biscuits only 3 1/2 hours away Biscuit
