A lovely new thread to continue counting our blessings.

Everyone is welcome, of any faith or none at all. Just drop by to pause for a moment and think of what has made you smile or has gone well for you, however small it seems.

Let's see, going back to basics a bit this morning ...

I have a nice Brew
ds is up and about and off to band soon - being picked up by a friend
dd has done the first week of her GCSE's and so has something of a break over the weekend, though getting ready for next week too
Even though it is a bit hazy here today it is spring time, with warmer days and flowers to gladden the heart (as my granny might have said!)

Welcome elizabethsmum and just Thanks

Embracing the frugal here as we save up for holidays:

baking scones
cooking once, eating twice
starting a new crochet project for a special gift - very pleased and grateful to have mastered a new pattern Smile

Not so grateful for the ridiculous amount of work I have to do, but grateful that I have the job and the income.

elizabethsmum · 17/05/2015 17:41

thanks for the warm welcome Smile
also planning a frugal few months due to lots of recent expenses, however grateful that we have
jobs
enough money to live comfortably
good health
good friends.

justonemorethread · 18/05/2015 10:22

What a nice heart warming thread to come to!
Thank you for the mumsnet community which is always there at the clic of a button, and which reassures us that the world is mostly full of nice, normal and kind people, despite what the newspapers would have us believe!
Thank you for my and my family's good health
Thank you for the opportunityof living in a peaceful country in Africa- something that I'm too often unappreciative of.

That I got DD ready for prom, that she went and that she had a nice time.

She's come such a long way after 2.5 years of chemotherapy, missing the best part of 2 years of school and being Asperger's. I was so worried about her going, that she would panic and hide, or cry. She said she wanted to at the start, but she fought through it and had a dance.

So proud of her. Smile

stressedHEmum · 23/05/2015 08:51

Well done, Kinky's DD Flowers I have 3 with AS and things like prom are such a huge challenge for them, I'm proud of your DD as wellGrin

A sunny day
friends
the laughter of the little children next door

JugglingFromHereToThere · 23/05/2015 08:55

Oh, that's lovely to hear about your dd going to her prom night Kinky, and enjoying the party and having a dance

Feeling thankful for music and dancing now ...

I'm taking my two out for Sat morning band practice in a bit - a nice way to start the weekend

Apple juice always a good one too stressed Smile Reminds me of Austria where we went on a family holiday when I was 8 - I remember sitting outside with a lovely glass of apple juice enjoying the view of mountains and meadows

elizabethsmum · 23/05/2015 19:18

My DP who made fun of me but didn't mind really that I went

rogueantimatter · 26/05/2015 13:40

Not stalking you TooBusy I swear!

My lovely Christian friend.

The Buddhist centre in my city.

My DS love of music.

TooBusyByHalf · 26/05/2015 13:48

This is pretty much the only board I visit rogue so you prob can't avoid me at the mo'!

rogueantimatter · 26/05/2015 13:54

I did a long post on your thread this morning!

Ponders.... what have I learnt from this? That I spend too much time on MN!

rogueantimatter · 26/05/2015 13:56

Except that now I'm worrying that this might be a thread aimed at Christians and I'm accidentally gatecrashing. Many apologies if that is the case.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 26/05/2015 16:31

Hi rogue No, genuinely open to all and people here having a variety of beliefs and traditions. Some people's faith tradition is more evident than others in their expression of gratitudes. Many of us find it's good to start with the simplest things. Sometimes I include aspects of being part of my local Quaker Meeting - but we're a very liberal tradition. Am equally likely to join you in being grateful for my DC's love of music - mine play the trumpet and the flute, and their interest has opened up a new appreciation of both those instruments and the music composed for them - especially something like a beautiful Trumpet Concerto by Mozart Smile

KinkyDorito · 27/05/2015 07:54

rogue I'm not Christian, though I have been known to turn up at Christingle services Grin.

I think gratitude should underpin everyone's life as it helps with perspective. Many people are motivated by want rather than thanks. I say this as someone who is always fighting that compulsion.

Thanks to all for kind words about DD. It was so lovely that she had a good time and people looked out for her Smile.

Grateful for:

Family. Just that today. I am very, very grateful for my lovely DCs and my DH. Smile

rogueantimatter · 27/05/2015 09:26

Thank you Juggling and Dorito. I've now reread the OP and it's very clearly intended to be inclusive Blush. Silly me.

Seasonal flowers - rhododendrons, poppies, bluebells, azaleas, forget-me-nots; gorgeous

DS' exams are almost over and we've managed not to fall out!

We have more than enough food. I often think that when I'm fretting about the differing nutritional needs in this household. Spoilt for choice.

stressedHEmum · 27/05/2015 09:42

Welcome, Rogue, no need to worry, everyone is welcome here Smile. I love flowers, my neighbour has a beautiful rhododendron bush in full bloom, it makes me smile every time that I see it.

gratitudes -
the calm before the storm - tomorrow evening is my BB parents' night
food, water, safety and shelter
Springwatch on the telly - I love Springwatch and I love spotting all the baby birds/new leaves etc. in the garden and around the neighbourhood.
