Tuo · 08/07/2014 01:38

Welcome to our new prayer thread for summer. This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... ALittleFaith, for her dad to recover well after his recent operation;

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Badvoc and her family, as they grieve for her dad and for her aunt, and also for her decision about her DS's schooling, and for his health;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; in particular, we pray for her mum's health, and for health for both her DC, and for her to feel welcomed, accepted and supported at her church;

... BlessedAssurance, for her life with her new baby, for her relationship with her MIL, and for her family who are far away;

... Bluetinkerbell, for her DH's training to go well;

... CharlotteCollins, for her new life as a single mum - may she be happy and fulfilled and supported in it;

... DidotheDodo, thanking God for the safe arrival of her granddaughter;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her life as a single mum, for her finances, for bullying issues around her DD, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, as she grieves for Bob, that she may find peace of mind, love and support at this time; also praying for her relationship with her DD, in particular;

... Gingercurl, for her brother who has been out of contact - may be be safe and well, and may he be in touch with Ginger or her sister soon;

... Iwantdogger, for her pregnancy - may her little one hand on in there and grow and develop strong and healthy;

... jan2014 for her decision to split with her DH, and for health and energy for her; also praying for her brother and his family, for his difficulties with alcohol;

... JugglingFromHereToThere, for her sister and her family as they grieve the loss of Juggling's nephew;

... Kaykat, continuing to pray for her and her DS as she goes through the stressful and painful process of divorce;

... MadHairDay, for health for all in the MHD household, and for less stressful times for her DC

... PandaG, as she and her family grieve the loss of her mum;

... PositiveAttitude, as she gets used to living with her DH again after a long time apart and for her new work as a Deacon in her church; also praying for PA's parents' health, and for her DDs and DS in their various situations;

... Question of Faith, for her and for her DH - for his depression to lift and for them to rediscover their love for one another and their lives together;

... Roomforalittleone, for her DS who has pneumonia, and for a good outcome from her Reader panel;

... thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, after the loss of a close family friend, and for the work that she does with others who are bereaved;

... tunnocksteacake and her family as they cope with her DH's illness;

... weegiemum for strength to cope with her illness; and for

... ZingWhale as she approaches the end of her pregnancy.

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors, and those we haven't seen for a while, including: boxofdelights, bountyicecream, CheerfulYank, cloutiedumpling, EasyCompadre, FairPhyllis, fluffieduckie, FriendOfDorothy, GoodbyeRubyTuesday, harbinger, JakeBullet, ktef, LollipopViolet, MaryBS, NeverKnowinglyUnderstood, niminypiminy, notquiteagrownup, PloddingDaily, revivingshower, saintsalive, SchrodingersFerret, SEStheBrave, Soozi, SunshinemMum, thehorridestmumintheworld, trish5000, youretoastmildred, and zulubump, and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Calm us, O Lord, as You stilled the storm.
Still us, O Lord, keep us from harm.
Let all the tumult within us cease.
Enfold us, Lord, in Your peace. Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers. I'm still in a lot of pain but have had a couple of good sleeps and spent the morning doing crafts with my DD which was lovely.

DH is taking her out for a while so I'm going to rest and would love to be able to take her outside to pick blackberries later today. The pain is quite bad at the moment, so please pray that I can do this.

I'm meant to have an elective c section on medical grounds on 4th August. Last night the labour ward phoned and wanted to move my slot by a week, which would take me past my due date. Please pray that the hospital will have space for me on 4th after all and that I have a safe delivery. I've had recurrent miscarriages and this hasn't been an easy pregnancy. It would be so good to have peace now at the end and not be worrying about this. Thank you all.

PurplePidjin · 26/07/2014 16:38

sometimes prayers are answered in small ways! we're just home from the church fete. lovely chap running the bouncy castle played with ds for 20 minutes while i drank a civilised pimms Grin

PositiveAttitude · 26/07/2014 16:50

MrsPixie It sounds bizarre that they are going to put your date for an elective CS AFTER your due date. Confused Prayers that things sort out for you and God gives you His perfect peace at the end of this pregnancy.

I have had a very good morning of studying and I am feeling more confident about the exam now, so I think I will take it on Friday and let God's will be done but I had better bloomin well pass!! Wink

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 26/07/2014 21:28

Yay purple that's great!

Good PA I felt you should take it.

Well I'm here. They hadn't pitched me near where I asked and I panicked but I've been sneaked in near the rather fab lot I planned to be with and all is grand now Grin

Apart from them both still being awake. Grrrr!

Praying about C section happening soon x

BlackeyedSusan · 26/07/2014 22:09

both of mine are still awake too. just fallen in the door after being at mum's.

good luck with the studying PA.

hope you have a good trip DO

oh heck the fourth of august is not that far away...

a plumber came to drop off the receipt etc for servicing the boiler. I asked him to fix the loo and he has done so. saved a lot of worry.

CharlotteCollins · 26/07/2014 22:34

What a great plumber!

BlackeyedSusan · 26/07/2014 22:42

cost us, but still he did it there and then. and he had the bit in the van.

BlackeyedSusan · 26/07/2014 22:44

my plumber on the other hand, gave us a present when dd was born, bathroom was so badly done by previous workmen that he took a lot longer than normal and I nearly considered giving him a key he was here so often! and came out on a saturday night at nocharge once. suspect he is an angel in disguise.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 26/07/2014 23:19

They'll still both wake early here. So praying they're not too overtired tomorrow. They usually go to bed by 7.30 latest.

Great about the boiler and loo BES.

So warm here tonight. Makes camping nicer. Hurrah!

BlackeyedSusan · 27/07/2014 10:23

it has been a long day. already.

been moaned at becasue he has no clean tshirts...
that i moved a toy back where it belongs.. where it was unmoved yesterday
cushion (present) pulled thread and spoiled
lights on (waste of electricity, same story every week)
breakfast stolen

only been awake an hour

BlackeyedSusan · 27/07/2014 17:58

nevermind a long day, today has been one helluva week.

been clearing out the gargage on.my.own. as the person who was supposed to help was off at a barbeque and did not come back until all the work was nearly finished and the tip was closed. I am most annoyed.

this in addition to taking small boy to church and then to the supermarket to do the shopping.

the car is now in the garage. along with the stuff for the tip. there is not much room to open the doors. but I can close the garage door which is a bonus.

MrsPixieMoo · 28/07/2014 14:14

Thanks for all your prayers ladies. My pain is bearable and I was even able to drive to the shops this morning. Yesterday I couldn't walk to the end of the road so this was great. Have had time and energy to spend time doing some lovely things with DD, am very grateful.

My midwife spoke to me and I'm still on the list for a caesarian on 4th, but it's a full list so I will find out on 4th if they can do me or not. Would be lovely to have a baby this time next week after all the pain and hurdles to get to this stage. Please continue to pray for a safe delivery and for the CS to take place as planned.

Tuo · 29/07/2014 00:58

Praying for you, Pixie, for PA as she prepares for her exam, and for all. Sorry to be so absent at the moment. Am in manic getting-things-done-before-stepping-down-from-role mode. Official last day in the job is Thursday. I predict not much sleep between now and then!

BlackeyedSusan · 29/07/2014 21:13

just spent two hours preparing half made meals for the freezer... using two huge bags of asparagus that I picked up in the supermarket for a about a pound. (approx 120 spears) am shattered but pleased that i got a bargain.

hope the pain is still bearable and Monday goes ahead...

GingerCurl · 30/07/2014 13:50

Apologies for having been mainly absent for quite some time. I do lurk from time to time and pray but haven't felt like posting.

My brother got in touch after a few days. Apparently their ancient phone set has been playing up and not rung when people have been trying to call them and has been dodgy when they've tried to make calls. Well, that's a convenient excuse for not staying in touch. Just get a new phone already!

Am very disappointed over some news concerning a couple of people in church. Can't go into details here but feel deceived and that they have let so many people down. Also, church is changing. We have a new priest in charge and, quite naturally, he wants to make changes. The thing is, I have no sense at the moment if the changes are God-driven or "this-isn't-my-style-so-I-don't want-to-do-it"-driven. Time will tell.

BlackeyedSusan · 30/07/2014 18:03

that sounds unsettling.

I have been hot and grumpy and fed up. it is time to turn this midden into a living room. it is really bad as things have been difficult at the end of term and with the accident which was an excuse for about a month.. two months ago... Blush

PlanetEarthIsBlue · 30/07/2014 18:28

Hello, may I join you? I've found this thread by accident whilst doing a bit of mn surfing and you seem like a friendly bunch!

BlessedAssurance · 30/07/2014 21:29

Ginger that is not good. That feeling you get when you have been disappointed is hard to shake off. So sorry you are going through that. I went through the same a few years ago and I ended up leaving the church. Your brother is not serious but great that he is alright.

Planet. Welcome :) you won't find a better place :) we are not only friendly but we love to love and we love to pray too. Pop in anytime.

Bes, being hot is a very good excuse to be grumpy :)

BlackeyedSusan · 30/07/2014 23:45

spending all day clearingup the midden is what made me grumpy. it is still very untidy, but a lot cleaner under the untidiness.

BlackeyedSusan · 31/07/2014 12:36

supposed to be going to my mothers. need to pack and do stuff ready. grr.

PositiveAttitude · 01/08/2014 07:24

Exam this morning!! Eeeeeeek!!!!!

Dutchoma · 01/08/2014 07:29

What do you think God knows about the subject of your exam? Do you think He would pass?

PlanetEarthIsBlue · 01/08/2014 09:31

Thanks for the welcome Blessed. I'm hoping to drop in on a regular basis, if time allows. No, I'll rephrase that. I'll make the time to drop in on a regular basis.

Dutchoma · 01/08/2014 10:10

Adding my welcome to that of Blessed., PlanetEarth. Look forward to you 'dropping in'.

How is it going Blessed? Are you still breastfeeding? How is mil? And when does your course start?

Praying for PA and her exam. And for BES on her visit to her mother.
And everybody else, whether they post here or not.

I have had the most marvellous holiday. Been taken all over the Wirral and into North Wales. Darling friend and I were both amazed at how well we got on together, I think we both had a few misgivings as we had only met for five days in a residential setting, so how would it go in a smallish flat? No need to have worried, we got on from start to finish and I am looking forward to her coming here soon.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 01/08/2014 17:21

BES you're on the talk round up by email. You get a mention.

Hello to newbies. Fly by visit. Just home and need to unpack the car. Great time, alas I've come home to a boiler problem but it will be resolved hopefully tomorrow. Phew!
