Welcome to our new prayer thread for summer. This is a safe and supportive place of prayer, where regulars, occasional visitors and lurkers, committed Christians and those just dipping a toe into the water are all equally welcome. Come and leave a prayer, tell us what's going on in your life, bring your worries, hopes, fears and joys to God, and know that you will be prayed for.

We pray, in particular, for...

... ALittleFaith, for her dad to recover well after his recent operation;

... amberlight, for her work raising awareness of the ways in which we can work to make life easier for our autistic friends, and for her to know love and acceptance wherever she goes;

... Badvoc and her family, as they grieve for her dad and for her aunt, and also for her decision about her DS's schooling, and for his health;

... BlackEyedSusan, for all the many things which she has to juggle in her life as a single parent; in particular, we pray for her mum's health, and for health for both her DC, and for her to feel welcomed, accepted and supported at her church;

... BlessedAssurance, for her life with her new baby, for her relationship with her MIL, and for her family who are far away;

... Bluetinkerbell, for her DH's training to go well;

... CharlotteCollins, for her new life as a single mum - may she be happy and fulfilled and supported in it;

... DidotheDodo, thanking God for the safe arrival of her granddaughter;

... DontstepontheMomeRaths, for her life as a single mum, for her finances, for bullying issues around her DD, and for the wonderful work she does through her church supporting people going through separation and divorce;

... DutchOma, as she grieves for Bob, that she may find peace of mind, love and support at this time; also praying for her relationship with her DD, in particular;

... Gingercurl, for her brother who has been out of contact - may be be safe and well, and may he be in touch with Ginger or her sister soon;

... Iwantdogger, for her pregnancy - may her little one hand on in there and grow and develop strong and healthy;

... jan2014 for her decision to split with her DH, and for health and energy for her; also praying for her brother and his family, for his difficulties with alcohol;

... JugglingFromHereToThere, for her sister and her family as they grieve the loss of Juggling's nephew;

... Kaykat, continuing to pray for her and her DS as she goes through the stressful and painful process of divorce;

... MadHairDay, for health for all in the MHD household, and for less stressful times for her DC

... PandaG, as she and her family grieve the loss of her mum;

... PositiveAttitude, as she gets used to living with her DH again after a long time apart and for her new work as a Deacon in her church; also praying for PA's parents' health, and for her DDs and DS in their various situations;

... Question of Faith, for her and for her DH - for his depression to lift and for them to rediscover their love for one another and their lives together;

... Roomforalittleone, for her DS who has pneumonia, and for a good outcome from her Reader panel;

... thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts, after the loss of a close family friend, and for the work that she does with others who are bereaved;

... tunnocksteacake and her family as they cope with her DH's illness;

... weegiemum for strength to cope with her illness; and for

... ZingWhale as she approaches the end of her pregnancy.

We pray also for all regular and occasional visitors, and those we haven't seen for a while, including: boxofdelights, bountyicecream, CheerfulYank, cloutiedumpling, EasyCompadre, FairPhyllis, fluffieduckie, FriendOfDorothy, GoodbyeRubyTuesday, harbinger, JakeBullet, ktef, LollipopViolet, MaryBS, NeverKnowinglyUnderstood, niminypiminy, notquiteagrownup, PloddingDaily, revivingshower, saintsalive, SchrodingersFerret, SEStheBrave, Soozi, SunshinemMum, thehorridestmumintheworld, trish5000, youretoastmildred, and zulubump, and for anyone I've forgotten to name-check (don't take it personally, please!). And we pray for those who read and pray but don't post, for those who need our prayers but are afraid or too uncertain to post them, and for all those known to us in our own lives who need God's love.

Calm us, O Lord, as You stilled the storm.
Still us, O Lord, keep us from harm.
Let all the tumult within us cease.
Enfold us, Lord, in Your peace. Amen.

GingerCurl · 22/08/2014 20:46

I gather that there sill be a meet up tomorrow. I'm sorry i won't be able to come but will be thinking of you all. I hope you will have a lovely time. I'm going to my youngest dGodd's confirmation service tomorrow at noon and then flying back to the UK in the evening.

Dutchoma · 22/08/2014 21:52

Hope you have a really good time before you come back Ginger. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

SESthebrave · 22/08/2014 22:02

Hello all. Am back from hols in France. It was lovely to have some time just for me, DH, DS & DD as life's hectic pace doesn't generally mean we get a lot of that!

Am really sorry I can't join you all tomorrow. I'd love to meet you lovely ladies in RL rather than "just" here and FB. Next time....

Blue - congrats on DC4. Prayers for a smooth and healthy pregnancy.

Faith - prayers for your interview

Madcap - I remember you and so pleased to hear how things have progressed more positively for you. Congrats on the wedding!

GingerCurl - prayers for you & your siblings and for wisdom.

KayKat - prayers for the situation you find yourself in and your relationship with DS.

MHD - hope your lungs are behaving?

BES - pleased to hear good news on your mum

Also praying for DO, PA, Mome, TUO, Amber, PurplePidgin, and the meet up tomorrow.

Please could I ask for prayers for tomorrow. I'm on call for work and with it being BH weekend, could be a tricky one.
Also for a girl I used to work with who I found out today is in hospital having chemo for leukaemia.

Dutchoma · 23/08/2014 06:40

Praying for safe journeys for all who are travelling to Northampton today.
Prayers for all who wanted to be here but couldn't for one reason or another. Thanks be to God for our friendship.

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2014 08:51

ahh... I am up, slightly bruised shins... but all is peaceful now...there has just been a humdinger of a meltdown.

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2014 08:57

ds wants to know how old are the children going?

nickelbabe · 23/08/2014 09:12

ve a lovely time today!
I'm sorry I can't be there. I'm in charge of looking after the visiting organist this morning, choir wedding this afternoon and the recital this evening!

Oma can I ask for this to be deleted? I'm sure no one would know some of my DCs are in that post or which they are! But it makes me uncomfy that their name and age is on a public forum.

See you later.

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2014 10:13

oh heck I am late.

Dutchoma · 23/08/2014 10:27

Have reported it myself. Sorry

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 23/08/2014 10:53

No such thing as late today as I understand it BES. Just turn up when ready.

I'll probably get there 12.15 at this rate myself.

Sorry Oma to be so paranoid about that post x

Dutchoma · 23/08/2014 10:59

No, not at all, I nearly reported it myself straight away. And no, there is not such a thing as 'late'. Nobody here yet.

madhairday · 23/08/2014 11:02

I'm on way, just on train from Birmingham, running on time. See you later. ..

Dutchoma · 23/08/2014 18:33

We had a great day, six mummies, 6 children and one Oma. Everybody fed and watered and gone home. Thank you all who came, sorry for the ones who couldn't make it.

DontstepontheMomeRaths · 23/08/2014 18:54

Thank you so much for having us. Drive home was better. Just in!

Apart from DS deciding to cross a road without me and then getting cross at the consequences, the day was brilliant. I was so confident he wouldn't dream of crossing the road alone Ahhhh well. He fell asleep all the way home. Tired boy. He's now in the bath.

CharlotteCollins · 23/08/2014 19:44

Glad it was a happy meet-up. I have spent all day travelling rather s-l-o-w-l-y home from a very relaxing and happy week at my parents' house with DCs. DCs now with their dad and I am looking forward to an early night!

madhairday · 23/08/2014 19:45

Thanks for a lovely day Oma, was fantastic to put some names to faces, you are all very lovely Smile Cake Thanks just home to 2 tired dc and a mound of washing. Dr Who here we come. ..

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2014 20:14

just checking in too. thanks for a lovely day. we stopped off five minutes down the road at a lovely play park and only left as the sun was behind the trees, which made me worry we would have to put the car away in the dark. Blush

Badvoc123 · 23/08/2014 20:22

Oh, I'm sorry I couldn't make it. Sounds like you all had a lovely time :)
Ds2 has come back from hols with a cold, bless him.
Mum was...hard work :( she is so unhappy and I can't help her. She is just so unreasonable at times. Like a 68 year old toddler!
I am still washing...feels like I will never get it all done!
What has happened to the weather? It is still august isn't it?
Door curtain going on front door and furry throws on sofas already!
Sorry haven't RTFT - hope everyone is ok x

BlackeyedSusan · 23/08/2014 20:28

sorry about your mum. It is tough when they are like that! At least with a toddler you are allowed to pull rank. when they are older they are supposed to be adults.

Badvoc123 · 23/08/2014 20:30

Sigh.
I just don't know what to do bes.
I know I won't be taking her on holiday again, that's for sure :(
