"Matthew contains 606 of Markâ??s 661 verses. Luke contains 320 of Markâ??s 661 verses. Of the 55 verses of Mark which Matthew does not reproduce, Luke reproduces 31; therefore there are only 24 verses in all of Mark not reproduced somewhere in Matthew or Luke."

A good diagram here

I couldn't say for sure BigDorrit.

There are certainly people who would swindle others out of money and I would not personally encourage being preoccupied with contacting restless spirits, I think it can be a dangerous pursuit.

Astrology? Well again, it is against my beliefs to be preoccupied with seeking portents, I do not think this pursuit is particularly healthy either.

Whether people have genuine 'skills' in these areas, I could not say.

Hmm, I have known some people personally, who have some very frightening experiences, connected with the occult. Not something I would wish to be involved in.

capsium · 22/04/2014 20:57

Have had^. Typo

capsium · 22/04/2014 20:59

Not that I don't believe there are charlatans out there either.

headinhands · 22/04/2014 21:17

The occult? How did they supposedly get in touch with occultish spirits and what nots?

I know of more than one. How? One in Egypt during the last war, spending time with the locals, other examples concerned playing with Ouija boards, the spiritualist church, general sightings and witchcraft.

Possibly, but that would not explain what happened afterwards, the portentous nature of some of the experiences of the people concerned.

In any case I do not agree with involvement with the occult. Encouraging situations where 'hallucinations' might occur would not be good either.

rabbitrisen · 23/04/2014 07:20

Yes BOB! Funny how the same thing happens to many christians!
That Jesus is the only God is the other one.
Well, there are other Gods, the bible says, but they are spirits.

rabbitrisen · 23/04/2014 07:21

Witchcraft is very dangerous.

rabbitrisen · 23/04/2014 07:21

Hope atthestroke is ok.

headinhands · 23/04/2014 17:12

You got any proof of that rabbit?

OP posts:
rabbitrisen · 23/04/2014 17:20

proof of what?

headinhands · 23/04/2014 17:21

You can buy Ouija boards online, it's a board game, copyright owned by Hasbro at the moment. One of the problems of faith is that you're kinda duty bound to believe in other groundless stuff too. (Maybe we can get in touch with lucifer and his legions through Monopoly too? That'd make it only slightly more interesting.

You can think something is not advisable without wanting to obliterate all who practice it, you know, Dorrit.

I would probably have burnt too, or something equally hideous, a few centuries ago. Some of my ancestors were actually accused of Heresy and witchcraft, others had positions of authority within the Church. Go figure...

rabbitrisen · 23/04/2014 17:48

No, chrisitians are taught to love them BD. Not what they do though.
Hate the sin, love the sinner.

rabbitrisen · 23/04/2014 17:48

Are you one too?

rabbitrisen · 23/04/2014 17:50

Are you in a coven?
Do you all know each other?

capsium · 23/04/2014 18:05

I am a Christian, rabbit. My last comment was mainly in reference to our justice system a few centuries ago.

ShippingForecast · 23/04/2014 19:18

Sorry but roffling at coven. Bwa ha ha ha ha Grin

Or IS there really a coven - and I haven't been invited [sadface]?

headinhands · 23/04/2014 21:30

you can think something is not advisable

You can, but you're best of actually having some sort of reason to advise against it other than just saying 'this book here says it's naughty so don't do it'. How many people do you think are admitted to A&E with ouija board related injuries a year?

Well they're either a pointless waste of time, if you believe nothing supernatural is going on, or there is a possibility you are messing with supernatural stuff, you might not be able to control. Take your pick.
