Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Here goes .....

DumbledoresGirl - Finding life tough coping with vomit phobia, especially with DH away a lot - Strength.

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - Relationship with mum (mum drives her loopy re: how to bring up her children etc); all affected by bird flu; relationship with non-Christian DH. Feeling very tired atm!!

NASWM - Life very Sad atm, feeling very low.

We're all a lot happier here, the ds's are much better and and I'm none the worse for my trip down the stairs, just a bit bruised and strained, ds2 is 10 months by the way CaptainDippy.

My Nanny is still not well and getting gradually worse, she can't even lift her arms over her head anymore, it's very sad and I'm praying that it will come ot a peaceful end soon.

Well, I've got a job interview next Wednesday and I am very nervous about it, it's been a long time since I was in a classroom and I'm not sure I'll remember what to do Blush

Prayers for all that need them Smile hope we get more good news on this thread.

SaintofGeorgia · 30/05/2006 14:39

Please add ComeOVeneer's nephew to your prayers.

Thank you.

CaptainDippy · 30/05/2006 20:16

Hi Kate100 and SG!! Smile

Kate - Will be praying for your job interview - Pretty nerve-wracking stuff, you will be ok!! Smile Praying so much for your poor poor nanny. Sad I just hope a peaceful end comes really soon, I just can't even bear to think of her suffering. I am sorry. Glad things are much better with your LO's - Mine are still not quite right - DD1 is teething like a maniac, poor love - tantrums galore and DD1 is "getting there" - Still not decided on MMR tomorrow.....

Will be praying for ComeOVeneer's wee nephew, poor little mite - Sounds like the family have really been through it. I do hope the op was a success and the kidney is operating properly. Praying so hard!!!!!

Could you please pray for me?? - I am achy all over and it hurts to breathe. I am not sure what is wrong, but it has been hurting since I got up this morning. Thinking that it is perhaps the beginning of flu or perhaps a chest infection. Hurts so much. Thank you!! Smile

Update on DS's sponsor. Dh visited him today in hospital. Came through surgery well. Has a hole in his bladder in addition to the other problems.

Prognosis is good though and barring further complications he should be in hospital for only 10 days or so. Much better than we expected after such big surgery.

So thanks for your prayers.

I will add all to my healing list, since I am not a Christian myself. I send Blessings and good wishes to you all. xx

helenainsworth · 30/05/2006 20:31

I am so amazed that so many Christians read mumsnet. I am so very enouraged! God bless you all! I will try to include you in my prayers- our God is such a faithful God and finds so many ways of building us all up! A good friend of mine could do with prayer as he has lost his job and with a wife and a DS and DD he needs to find God's purpose in it all (he whole family v committed christians). Thank you

CaptainDippy · 31/05/2006 08:55

Hi SG!! So glad that your DS' sponsor has come through surgery ok - Praying for lots of progress to be made in his recovery - and thank you for posting on here, it doesn't matter whether you are a Christian or not - I think we could all do withn a little prayer now and again, eh!!? Smile

Hello helenainsworth!! Welcome to our thread! Smile Will be praying for your friend's DH as he struggles with the realities of losing his job Sad. Praying that something new will come up for him soon and that God would give the family real strength to get through these tough times - Keep posting!! Smile

My chest still hurts a little when I breathe deeply and I am still a bit achy, but most of how I was feeing yesterday has gone - Praise the Lord!! Thank you for your prayers!! Smile

All ok in the Dippy Household - Taking DD2 to have her MMR this morning, still a little worried, espcially as she woke up at 2am with a great big smelly poo for me to change (tmi, I know!!) Mmmmmmm, well I'll just tell the nurse she's not quite herself and leave it to their discretion.

How's everyone else?? Updates please!! Smile

How did the trip to see your Godson go NQSTM?? How is your DS pudmog?? When do you start the new job Nanou1?? Has Chicken Pox invaded your household yet Dumbledoresgirl?? Continuing to think of Emkana, DesperateHouewife and ComeOVeneer's wee nephew....

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone!

Twiga · 31/05/2006 13:12

Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while. Things here are not too bad, we're all a little under the weather with lingering colds that just don't seem to want to shift. Feeling a bit sorry for myself generally, am really just tired and in need of some "me time" much as I love dd it all feels like hard work just now - hoping to get a couple of hours to myself sat morning and give dh some daddy time with her.

Granpa's funeral went really well and dd was a star through out. She was a real comfort to others who were there and slept peacefully during the final part up at the crem. My SIL who's a minister did the eulogy and dd got a special mention - Granpa thought she was great and was so happy always to see her! The main thing that has stayed with me is something one of the ministers taking the service said to us afterwards - that Granpa had heard the "well done" - can't think of a more fitting way to have things summed up (over 60 years of faithful ministry) and what an honour to be spoken of in that way. We're really missing him, think we're probably bottling things a little as it seems crazy to feel sad about him dying when he'll be so happy and at peace.

Dh didn't pass his exam this time so will be re-sitting at the start of Oct. Please pray that I would be as helpful to him as poss as he studys and that after some additional work Oct would be a sucess.

Gotta run dd just waking and needing a cuddle, will check in again later.

Also just wanted to say have been Sad to read some of the news on here and have been praying. LOL to all x

kate100 · 31/05/2006 14:24

We're all labouring under colds here too, it makes getting throught he day feel like wading in mud.
Prayers for all who need them, espeially COV's nephew.

CaptainDippy · 31/05/2006 18:52

Hi there!! Thank you for popping in Twiga!! Smile So pleased that your grandpa's funeral went well and that lots of people said such lovely things about him!! Smile Glad that DD was a little star as well!! Smile Praying for you as you find an outlet to deal with your loss, it must be so hard. You must miss him a tremendous amount - It is always the people left behind who suffer, but it is a comfort to know he is in a much better place now!! Smile [[hugs]] Sorry to hear about your DH's exams, you'll have to remind us to pray hard come Oct!! Smile Praying for lingering colds too - for your little lot and Kate100's too, they are yukky indeed!! Sad

Has been a rather stressful day in DippyLand - DD1 has been screaming and tantruming most of day with her teeth and DD2 is pretty grumpy too - So glad they are in bed now!! My aches have returned - along with a high temp and feverishness, yuk yuk yuk!! Sad Pray for fast recovery, I am crap at being ill!! (Supposed to be in bed now!! Wink)

Prayers to all!! Smile

Hello!! Had a temp of over 100 last night Sad My head was boiling, but the rest of me wss freezing cold. I ached so much I was virtually incapable of moving. It was awful. Sad Miraculously I woke up feeling heaps better this morning - So thank you God and thank you for your prayers!! Still feel a bit light-headed and still worried it will return, but so glad I can get on with the day ok enough!! Smile

How is everyone else???

OP posts:
Twiga · 01/06/2006 14:14

Oh CD, poor you Sad, hope your feeling better this afternoon {{{hugs}}}

Please could you join me in a prayer of thanks for a lovely neighbour of mine. Here in hospital acc there's a lovely community feel to the place - we're the only british family in the houses so there's a real culture mix too. We've become good friends with a fab Indian family a couple of doors up who have been a source of blessing to us time and again. Our dd's get on really well, their wee one is just coming up 3 and adores our dd. Since discovering that we love spicey food the Mum is always turning up with wee things for us to try and it's always at a time when it's needed ie today she knew I hadn't prepared lunch yet and arrived with a curry to save me having to cook once dd was down for her nap. God used them as a source of comfort too when we were waiting for things to happen with Granpa - I was chatting to the Mum and she told me that I shouldn't worry as it was in god's hands - she's Hindu and we were speaking of diff god's but I was able to whole heartedly agree with her and tell her a litlle about Granpa being a minister etc. I've learnt so much from them and have enjoyed their company - please pray for a blessing for them as they move on soon to return home to India and we're gonna miss them heaps. Pray too that I would have an opportunity to re-pay some of their kindness to us before they leave next month.

Had a lovely time of fellowship this morning at a ladies bible study that I found out about via one of the toddler groups we've been going to here. Dd had a great time playing with the other kids and a couple of the older ladies from the church while we did our study in another room.

Hope everyone is fine, lol x

CaptainDippy · 02/06/2006 08:48

Hi Twiga - Feeling better today, although woke up very hot early this morning - I'll suffer for that later, I'm sure!! Sad

Your Indian neighbours sound lovely - What wonderful, warm, generous people they are and so Sad they are heading back to India (well sad for the people that are their friends over here, I'm sure it will be lovely to for them to go back home!! Smile) Thank you for them Lord!! Grin

How's everyone doing??

Hi everyone,
I have just discovered mums net - have one daughter aged 9 months. It's great to see the Christian community going on here.
I wondered if you could pray for my baby, she got a nasty wound from the ventouse when she was born which has never healed properly. The doctors have now decided to operate so she will be having plastic surgery on her head on the 15th June. Prayers for her protection and for the skill of the surgeons would be much appreciated. Thank you Smile

Twiga · 02/06/2006 09:42

Welcome to Mumsnet TigetT Smile, just wanted to say hi before I head off to hang the washing out - will remember you dd in my prayers, hope you're not worrying too much.

Morning to everyone else!

CaptainDippy · 02/06/2006 10:30

Hello!! You wouldn't be hanging the washing out down here, I assure you Twiga!!! (Mine's in the drier, ssssh, don't tell anyone Blush!!)

Welcome Tigert - Good to have you join our little community here!! Smile So sorry to hear about your poor little one's head Sad - Will defintely pray and have put the date of her surgery in my personal diary - Do post a reminder near the time as posts do tend to get shoved down a bit as more people post, iyswim (if you see what I mean)!!? It just sounds awful that the poor little thing has to go through this on account of the vontouse. Awful. It must have been a pretty traumatic birth - How are you doing? Lots of Prayers!! Smile

OP posts:
tigerT · 02/06/2006 12:24

Thanks CaptainDippy and Twiga!

have just hung the washing out myself but now looking at the sky I think it may have been a bad move!

The birth was pretty awful yes but I guess we all have a tale to tell on that one....(!) The thing with her head has just dragged on and on so I am just hoping that this op will sort it out now.

Am quite excited at having discovered this discussion board - it is wonderful that we can chat like this and support one another in prayer...

Hi there

Popping in at the end of a manic half term. The trip to my godson's went well. My boys had a fantastic time and ds2 slept brilliantly too.

Can I ask for prayers for me please? I'm finding life hard going at the moment. Nothing specific. Just feel burdened down. I know that I need to hand some of the weight over to the One who carries it for us, but I'm far too good at not letting go.

Enjoy the sunshine. God bless
