CaptainDippy · 13/05/2006 08:52

Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Here goes .....

DumbledoresGirl - Finding life tough coping with vomit phobia, especially with DH away a lot - Strength.

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - Relationship with mum (mum drives her loopy re: how to bring up her children etc); all affected by bird flu; relationship with non-Christian DH. Feeling very tired atm!!

Portree - Going through IVF atm

katzg - Has applied for ideal job (closing date 30th May)

NASWM - Life very Sad atm, feeling very low.

PandaG - Thinking hard about where to go re: going back into teaching etc etc atm. Has just become Chair of the PTA. Feeling a bit low and uncertain.

Twiga - DH has surgical exams throughout May, prayers for friends niece was was born early due to pre-eclampsia - has been moved out of closed incubator - Hurrah! Grandpa (90) has just had stroke - needs to let go and be with his Heavenly Father now.

MaryBS - Non-Christian DH has expressed an interest in going to church - Hurrah!

KateF - Lots of stress atm. Thanks for prayers for Philip Dunne who goes to her church, he is improving - Praise the Lord!! Smile

CaptainDippy - Usual prayers re: getting a p/t job and a home of their own; prayers for DD's who are very chesty and unwell, esp as DD1 had pneumonia this time last year; prayers that she will pass her driving test soon!!

JessicaandRebeccasMummy - I know her DH will find out about is happening to his job (he's had health problems for a while) around now - So let's prayer something amazing happens for that little family.

Oh and finally (really should read all the posts before I post!) Nanou, I don't have any friends living anywhere near me. We only moved here a year ago, which would be long enough for most people, but bearing in mind I had no friends to invite round in my last home and we were there 5 years, perhaps you will see how bad I am at making friends. Sad

poppiesinaline · 15/05/2006 12:38

Not been around on this thread lately - just thought I would pop my head in. All is well in the poppies household.

Hi DG. Lovely to see you here hun :) I will say a few prayers for you over the next couple of weeks. I think it is possible to have 'faith' without going to church, although I think being around people from time to time who believe the same as you def helps. I dont think God made us to be 'on our own'. Is there a nearby church you could link in to?

Nanou1 · 15/05/2006 12:42

oh...DG... where do you live? you are not bad. am the same... listen, we are all friends here ok?! go and read the first thread re my prayer request and bet you will have a laugh!

KateF · 15/05/2006 14:01

Mornin' all Smile. Just popped in to say that dd2 survived lunchtime despite a major panic attack when the older children came in. She was doing so well with just the reception class but the clattering and banging of chairs etc finished her off. I stayed by her and held her hand until her table were allowed to go so we at least achieved staying at school for lunch.
DG - any church worth belonging to should welcome peple who are searching for faith. I went to my church for over 2 years before making a committment and being baptised. Why not try a few services at different churches and see where you feel at home.
Remembering everyone else in prayers.

Nanou1 · 15/05/2006 14:28

fantastic news !!! you must be so pleased. i agree with you re church. well done dd2!

mosschops30 · 15/05/2006 14:31

everyones prayer requests on here are very serious and my thoughts are with you all,

Can I ask for something a bit silly (to most but serious for me) can I just ask that somone say a prayer for me on Monday when I am flying Sad which terrifies me.

kate100 · 15/05/2006 14:34

I've just found this thread and have looked at the previous one too. I feel my family and I could do with the prayers of some of your ladies at the moment to get us through some dificult times. DH's business is very uncertain at the moment and as such we may struggle financially, DH is very down about the situation as the outcome is totally out of his control (it would take to long to explain), he feels very let down by people and is really despairing about what to do, he feels as if he is letting us all down, which he isn't. I wish the situation would resolve itself and he can become his old self again. Also my Nanny is very poorly at the moment, she has breast cancer and has caught MRSA and is very poorly, we all know that it's near the end for her and so want it to be peaceful and painless for her. My mum's MS is deteriorating and she is finding her life a daily struggle, her faith is almost gone and she feels fairly worthless, which is very distressing for us all to see.
On a happier note my DS2's baptism is on Sunday and I can't wait to welcome him into church. My ds1's bapptism was such a joyous occasion for our family and I pray that ds2's will be too.
If you could remember my family in your prayers I would be grateful.

mrsgee · 15/05/2006 14:35

kate thats great about your dd well done, and such a way forward.

mosschops will pray for flying that it is smooth and your fears go-its not a minor thingx

mrsgee · 15/05/2006 14:36

my message was for katef{blush}

mosschops30 · 15/05/2006 14:36

thank you it means a lot Smile

Nanou1 · 15/05/2006 14:38

shall be adding you to my prayers.

PandaG · 15/05/2006 14:42

Mosschops - not a silly request at all, if you are scared of flying it is really important to you, will pray it goes smoothly.

KateF, glad to hear about your DD, praying she will continue to move forward in staying at school.

DDG, praying your children stay bug free over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Katzg, will investigate this, although I fear I have been out too long. Worth an e-mail at least though, and I might surprise myself.

KateF · 15/05/2006 14:47

Of course we'll pray for you both. No-one should think their need for prayer is trivial. A fear of flying can be crippling (my friend's sister has it - she couldn't fly to see her dying mother Sad). You have so much to cope with just now kate100 - stay with us and keep us posted, we will all be praying for you and yours.

Pudmog · 15/05/2006 19:29

I am so embarrassed to post this. As some of you know I have been having prayer ministry etc to sort out the rubbish from my past. Well God has been amazing in healing and providing the right kind of people to help me, and I have been trying to plan ahead to respond to a 'calling'.

Well blow me- After deep denial and four tests later just discovered I am pregnant. I am thrilled about another baby (no.4) but not best pleased with timing and I can feel myself spiralling downwards- please pray for peace and acceptance. It just has huge implications and dh and I already have differing opinions eg loft conversion v moving etc.

PandaG · 15/05/2006 19:34

Kate100, you have a lot to deal with at the moment, will pray for you and your family.

Pudmog - Congratulations!!!!! Sorry that timing seems off but praying that you and your DH will resolve your differences of opinion about moving/extension etc. Glad to hear God has been sorting out the stuff from your past. Smile

longwaytogo · 15/05/2006 20:08

Wow so much been happening. nOt had much of a chance to get online atm as connection is very hit and miss - driving me insane, and we go on hols on Thrus for 3 weeks so won't be round. Please pray for healing, acceptance that life isn't what it used to be and for me to believe that even though we are no longer in full time ministry we can still minister. Pray that i can get through a Sunday without ending up in floods of tears.

Twiga · 15/05/2006 22:56

Just signing in very quickly to let you know that our Granpa went to be with Jesus this morning - he had been unconscious all weekend and passed away peacefully in his sleep. Funeral is 1pm Thursday followed by cremation at 3pm please remember us and our family as we travel to Belfast to be together. We're very sad but also rejoicing that he's with God and by all accounts probably having a ball!

Twiga · 15/05/2006 22:58

Sorry also meant to say will catch up properly once we're home at the weekend but will be praying meantime - thanks and lol to all x

KateF · 15/05/2006 23:03

Sad for you Twiga but glad your grandfather went so peacefully. Will be thinking of you. God bless.

CaptainDippy · 16/05/2006 10:31

WOW!!! I was soooooo excited to see that loads of people have posted since my last time online - How wonderful - Our God is a Great Big God!! (Can you guess what I've been listening to with DD1 this morning!!?)

Heeeeello everyone - and a special welcome to new people who have posted, it is sooooo good to have you with us, mosschops30, kate100 and alexsmum (we like intruders here btw!!)

Where do I start!!? Well I have been offering you all up to God in your various situations as I have been reading through the thread and before I go on I must say congratulations!! to pudmog on your pregnancy!!!! Wow! Even if it doesn't seem the right time for it, God is in control and He knows the plans He has for you - Plans to prosper and not to harm, it is going to be fine honey - I just know it!! You must be feeling a right mix of emotions atm - Praying as you deal with this new change and as your continue to allow God to heal you in your brokeness. x

Good news about your grandpa peacefully leaving you this morning Twiga - It is a great release for him and for you all - He has gone to be with his Heavenly Father now. x

I am praying for you parents Alexsmum - Praying that they can come home soon and praising that your dad is more stable - Do keep us updated.

Hi Dumbledoresgirl and Poppies - Praying for that faith to be nurtured and grown in you DG, epscially as you struggle while DH is away - He is holding you and He is looking after you, trust in your Heavenly Father who loves you!! Great to have you back with us Poppies - I was wondering where you had gone to. Pleased all is good in your house atm - Great to hsve one of our "original members" back with us once again!! Smile

Fab news that DD2 survived KateF - Keep praying and trusting, poor wee thing.

Not silly for reuqesting that we pray for your as your fly on Monday mosschops30 - As was said already, fears can be soooo crippling and awful - Praying for peace and calm and removal of fear. [hugs] Do let us know how it goes!!

Hi Kate100 - Gosh, sounds like you are having a real time of it atm, poor thing. Praying especially for strength as you cope with tough times. Praying that your DH would be uplifted and more positive and that business would start to flourish - Just praying that God would reassure you about the future - all of you. Praying for your nanny as she draws towards the end, may she be so filled with peace and love - praying for those who love her too, I cannot imagine how you all must be feeling. So so Sad. And for your mum too, I just cannot find words that are enough, but please please know that I am praying. xx Wonderful news about your DS2's Baptism though - praying it is wonderful day in the midst of such difficult times and sadness. xx

Logwaytogo - Praying as your struggle, praying that God would lighten your burdens and bring you to a place of peace. May He fill you so much with his love - He loves you, you know!! Smile I hope that this holiday is a bit of a "break from the norm" for you and your family and you come back feeling refreshed and renewed - ready to face the world!!

Gosh - It is soooo lovely that there are soooo many people involved in this thread - I am excited!! Grin

All ok in the Dippy Household - DD1 isn't going to sleep atm, which is a little frustrating. Sigh. I have a mock driving test at 11am - so if you read this, pray for me!! Feeling very nervous, but at the same time, quite calm (certianly a feeling from God, not me!!) DD's still snotty and grim, took them to doctors, but he said they were ok. So much going on atm - very busy and hectic - Still prayers needed for job and house, all very static atm, frustrating!!

Right. I have waffled quite enough - [hugs] and prayers to all - Keep those post coming!! Smile

Hello lovely folk. Just a quick update on my friends and their IVF. They found out last week that she has an overactive immune system which has prevented implantation previously and so she has had some treatment for this. They have had their embryos implanted yesterday so she is at home on the sofa, resting and hoping. Please spare some prayers for them over the next couple of weeks - they have been through so much to have a child.

Nanou1 · 16/05/2006 11:22
