Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Here goes .....

Yesterday went very well the service was lovely and it was nice having people back to ours afterwards to talk and things. Although I did overcater, as I usually do and I'm left with 2 cakes which DH is quite happily munching his way through. After people had left my family went out to lunch together and it was lovely to spens some time together without the strain of the last few weeks hanging over us. My dad said I'd done a great job and he was very grteful which made me eel a lot better too. Thank you all for thinking of me and praying for me, I think things are looking up for me and my little family now.

DS2 is better today, I think he's teething and his temperature keeps shooting up and he gets very tired.

Congratulations CD, I know what you mean about the brain drain, I'm due to go back to work in September and I'm not sure mu brains up to it

longwaytogo, hope your dd feels better soon.

Katzg, praying for your interview

MaryBS, praying that you hear soon.

PandaG, glad you're feeling better and lucky you having such a lovely neighbour to look after you and your DD, my lovely neighbour looked after ds1 during my nanny's funeral. I'm so lucky to have her.

Hope I haven't missed anyone, this thread is looooong!!

Nanou1 · 28/06/2006 10:37

morning all! LWTG...your dd is 14 not 14 months? do you think maybe there is something wrong with her? sorry don't know history so just asking? nasty migraine perhaps? perhaps you could go and see a acupunturist or try chinese doctors (would be quicker to get an appointment...). alternatively, go to emergencies at your local hospital and be firm to get her checked for a scan. hope today will be a better day for you. Kate100 was thinking of you and hope all went as well as one can expect in those difficult times. On a happier note, well done CD very pleased for you to get the job and the hours you wanted. MaryB ; Katz and all are in my prayers. sorry not time to give individual messages but thinking of you all.

CaptainDippy · 28/06/2006 11:29

Hello! Just returned from a quick dash into town - period started and realised I didn't have any "Feminie Products" in the house!!

Ahem.

Your poor DD lwtg - I agree with the others, you should perhaps take her to somewhere a little more "alternative" perhaps and just be very insistant about wanting her checked thoroughly with scans etc. How long has she been like this? Migraine is a possibility or perhaps glandular fever or ME - or just not getting enough sleep / proper food?? This bears no relation to your parenting skills by any means, I am just running through some possibles. Do not blame yourself though - whatever it is, it is not your fault - All families go through difficulties from time-to-time - you are not alone. Lots of prayers going out to you honey. [hugs]

Soooo pleased it went well Kate100 - You did do a good job, as your father said (high praise indeed!!) Well Done - hope some sort of normality descends upon you now!!

Hi nanou1 - How's the job going? I am soooo nervous about going back to work and being able to cope etc. I booked the girls in for another afternoon at nursery yesterday and it made me feel quite . I am sure it will be ok though. Guess it will just take a while to get into new routine etc etc - I really appreciate your prayers in all of this - and your support etc - Hope they have Internet access at work!!

Right - too much to do - See you all later on....

I'll get to the end of this week, summerise and start a new thread -

you are right CD, it is not your fault LWTG. you might find that if dd has been playing up it may well be because she is unwell. go and get it sorted out asap. all will get better soon.
CD... well done re getting the kids into creche. this is what i did with my dd and by the time i started full time, she was well settled at the creche and was getting excited to meet her friends. it has made it easier for me not to have to worry. i feel bad already to spend some much time away from her as it is... talking about jobs, dh has second interview tomorrow for a job he had been rejected for and where i insisted he writes a nice letter to convince them he was the one for it. guess what, they came back saying they really appreciated his letter and would like to see him for a second interview... there is light at the end of the tunnel, praise the lord. on another note, i do hope you get mumsnet access in your new job CD or life just wont be the same!!!!

MaryBS · 28/06/2006 12:08

No time for a proper response but....
My Vicar really IS seeing the bishop today.... to raise staffing issues, like in 1991 there were 4 ordained clergy and 5 readers in our parish - and now there's just him..... so I might get an answer later today after all.....

Nanou1 · 28/06/2006 12:28

fingers MarySB. will be thinking of you.

Nanou1 · 28/06/2006 12:28

fingers MarySB. will be thinking of you.

PandaG · 28/06/2006 12:53

Hello all, feeling much better today, still a bit tired but able to function - might have a nap before the school run (grin)

MaryBS, praying it is good news

Katzg well done for getting an interview - tell us more!

LWTG - know that this is not your fault, we parents blame everything on ourselves, and it is a lie. Praying that your DD is diagnosed soon, and gets better really quickly.

Nanou - will pray for your DH's interview

Kate - so glad to hear the funeral was ok, and that you could enjoy your family lunch. Praying that you can relax and enjoy your holiday.

Sure there's someone I've missed - not intentional I'm looking forward to CD's new thread soon!

Nanou1 · 28/06/2006 13:32

Hi PandaG - glad to hear you are feeling better. and thank you for your prayers. must say things are looking up a bit for dh and i and we seem happier together too. it feels good! i agree this thread is getting very long now and suggest CD should start a july one! CD as captain, coach, team leader?! MaryBS... positive energy and prayers your way.

MaryBS · 28/06/2006 17:22

OMGosh I can't stop crying, I can't believe it..... M. has just got back from seeing the bishop..... apparently I'm "one of the strongest candidates they've seen in a long time, according to the feedback". I should get the letter confirming it in the post tomorrow.... [tears]

PandaG · 28/06/2006 17:27

Wahayy that is amazing well done MaryBS, that is great. I am so proud of you!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!! What fantastic news MaryBS

tigerT · 28/06/2006 20:35

sorry I am hopeless at actually posting on here, but I am reading regularly and praying for you all.

CONGRATULATIONS to you both MaryBS and CD - brilliant news.

SO glad things went ok yesterday kate100.

LWTG, thinking of you and your daughter. Have you had blood tests...perhaps it may be something like anaemia?? Also, I had allergy tests from a homeopath once and they were much more helpful than the one the doctors did. Might be worth thinking about?

My DD is much better - less clingy and has had the stitches out now so more comfotable too. The surgoen is really pleased so we are so relieved.

Xavielli · 29/06/2006 00:40

Well done MaryBS!!!!

Dad's op went well today.. he was sat up chatting when I went to see him.

He was a bit upset tho as it was their wedding anniversary today (37 years!!!!!) and he couldnt do anything for Mum. They haven't spent more than a handful of nights apart over those years so it is hard for them both...

Praying hard for all of you xx

MaryBS · 29/06/2006 06:48

Thank you everyone I'm overwhelmed

Glad your Dad's op went OK Xavielli. He'll be able to make it up to her when he's out of hospital.

Tigert - glad your daughter is on the mend, will continue to pray for her, and you.

CD - hope your leaving do went OK, praying you find someone just as inspirational... Glad about your job news - its hard leaving them, but you'll be fine I'm sure. You'll enjoy the time you spend with them all the more...

Nanou1 - glad things are better for you and your DH - thank God!

kate100 - glad things are starting to settle down for you. Its been a stressful time. May God continue to send you peace...

LWTG - I hope you can get some answers for your daughter. I did wonder about ME. Is she particularly stressed or bothered about something? I remember getting worked up about things at that age - I used to get really bad stress headaches, the tiniest thing would set me off... Praying that you'll get some answers and some help soon, and that your daughter will be back to normal.

As for me.... training starts 15 July. I'm going to have to get used to studying... and dealing with daft questions like "so, a lay minister, does that mean you get to lay a minister?"

CaptainDippy · 29/06/2006 07:45

Good morning!! Night out was loooovely last night, our breast-feeding counsellor gave us all presents too - How lovely is that!!? She was soooo pleased at her gifts / flowers and didn't mind a bit that loads of people dropped out at the last minute (!!) We will miss her!! Was veeeery tired when I got in though - I have been sooooo flat out recentely - out every night at one thing or another, manic during the days etc etc - Hoping it'll all calm down a bit soon, but with work starting, I am worried it is just going to get even more mental!! ARGH!!

Soooo pleased your father's op went well Xaveilli!! Was defo praying for him - so sweet that he was worrying cos he couldn't do anything for his Wedding Anniversary - like someone said, he can make it up to your mum when he is at home and feeling better, bless him!!

Thank you for your prayers Tigert - they are hugely appreciated!! Sooooo pleased your DD is doing so well, it has been a really big thing for a child of her age and she seems to have coped with it amazingly well (they are incredibly resiliant at that age, aren't they?? My DD was running around the ward, shouting and laughing an hour after her hernia op when she was 20 months!!)

Will be praying your start your training MaryBS.

Gotta go - smelly children needing a bath!!! Nice!

Hi everybody! so lovely to see so many good news! so pleased for everybody. and for those facing hardship at the moment I truly hope these positive feedbacks will get you keeping smiling with your head up. MaryBS; very well done to you - so so pleased things have worked out. LWTG things will work out soon- get your dd to see someone asap to put your mind at rest at least. was thinking last night that maybe her hormones need checking too cos could be something wrong with her pituatry (wrong spelling sorry) gland? could put pressure on nerves around the eyes and give headaches etc... do she wear glasses? it does have an impact on eyesight... best you get professional advice soon. TigerT; thank you for advice on homeopath. will get dd to see one since she still has her eczema and creams dont seem that efficient. CD you will be fine juggling home and work. it will just take a few weeks to get into gear with organising everything and then you will be laughing! being selfish here but i do enjoy my "me" time during lunchbreaks!!! thinking of you all and sorry i can't list everybody. what a beautiful day today; at least in london! now i shall wish you the best and get on with my work. til then

Pudmog · 29/06/2006 12:02

Lovely to be able to read some lovely answers to prayer.

The school situation is still extremely sensitive and difficult- at least the press are not hounding us. Have been to various difficult meetings in school this week and please pray for the head as she is extremely tired. Also please pray for the complainants that their anger will simmer down and they can become more objective, see the bigger picture and how much damage they are causing by their unfounded complaint.

Nanou1 · 29/06/2006 12:11

feeling for the head teacher and everybody at the school pumdog.... very sad for all i think. what does it show the children?!...

CaptainDippy · 29/06/2006 16:25

Hi nanou1 - Thank you for your lovely, encouraging post!! Hope you are doing ok honey - I am looking forward that lunch-break "me" time too!!

I am glad the press aren't hounding everyone too much pudmog, an extremely difficult and sensitive sitation. Poor Head and poor govenors. Sigh. How are you getting on aside from all the hassle at your children's school? Are you still feeling sick?? How many weeks are you now? Thinking of you.

All ok in DippyLand - DD's at nursery and I have done most of the housework and I'm just catching up on a few bits and pieces - and praying for you all too!!

OP posts:
Nanou1 · 29/06/2006 16:31

when do you start your new job cd? and where are you based? any travelling from home to work via creche? this is the killer for me!

Nanou1 · 29/06/2006 16:31

CD... you are very welcome!

CaptainDippy · 29/06/2006 18:32

I start work on Monday. I'll be training for 2 weeks, which means doing weird, irregular hours and having to dump the children off all over the place etc - but hey, it is only for two weeks - Then I start the job "proper" - Fortunately, my in-laws are having in the children in the mornings while I am working and they are giving them lunch and dropping them off at nursery for the afternoons. It is pretty easy for them as both DD's still sleep in the mornings and I didn't really want them to get out of that habit, iykwim?? So there's the long and short of it - No idea how I am going to cope with it, on top of everything else I already do - guess something is going to have to give at some point. I'll just wait and see.

Sorry for waffling .....

MaryBS · 29/06/2006 21:13

Just a flying visit, but CD, I'll pray for you, you'll get through the 2 weeks, God will provide...
