Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Thanks so much everyone for all your prayers. DD's operation went really well. She has stitches right across her head now, but they have got rid of all the bad skin, and I can see that it is going to look really doos when it heals. The plastic surgeons were really pleased - thank God for the skill that these people have, it really is amazing. DD is doing really well and is pretty much back to normal during the days, just finding nights hard as I think the stitches are irritating her. We are pretty tired, but really pleased that it is all over.

captdippy you really are going through it at the moments with your DD's - praying for you and for them.

xxx

tigerT · 21/06/2006 14:10

obviously I meant that it will look really 'good' when it heals rather than 'doos'!!! I never was much of a typist.

PandaG · 21/06/2006 14:15

So glad to hear your news TigerT, tis fab the op went well and your DDs hand is healing.

CD - sorry to hear your DDs are still feeling rough, will be prsying for them both, and you.

MaryBS, will pray for you today - here's a reminder everyone, it is her interview for becoming a reader tonight

I am a bit on edge atm, as waiting to hear if a friend has got the job he interviewed for today, he really could do with the job as life has been pretty stressful for him recently.

MaryBS · 21/06/2006 15:30

Thank you PandaG. I'm on the emotional equivalent of a rollercoaster at the moment. I feel fine, confident, trusting in the Lord one minute, then hard on myself the next - maybe I misread the signs, maybe I'm just making a complete fool of myself, maybe they'll think I'm making a fool of myself. up down up down, nobody upset me between now and 7pm!

I'll try and get on later, let you know how it went. I'm shattered though - tough day at work!

Thinking of and praying for everyone else! {hugs}.

PandaG · 21/06/2006 16:26

Praise the Lord! My friend got the job Hooray!!

Mary, will pray for your nerves, I certainly know that emotional rollercoaster feeling.

MaryBS · 21/06/2006 17:00

PandaG - thats fabulous news about your friend .

CaptainDippy · 21/06/2006 18:45

Not much time to post!!

Sooooo pleased the op went went and the surgeons are pleased Tigert - Just praying the wound heals quickly and you get some sleep back. Kisses to your brave little DD! xxxx

Yey to your friend PandaG!!

Praying right now as you prepare for your reader interview in 15 mins MaryBS - Hope it goes amazingly well honey!! [hugs]

Thank you all soooooo much for your prayers for the DD's. DD1 is exhausted and really not good - has gone to bed early, bless her. DD2 was prescribed Anti-B's by the Dr this morning, she has had two doses no problem (yey!) and seems brighter already. They are both asleep in the same room atm - Let's hope it stays that way from now til the morning!!

Gotta go - off out to run a Truly Madly Baby Party in 15 mins!!!! Byeeeeeeee .....

hello all
sorry havnt had time to post for longggggg time. both kids up loads in night both mucking about in day, dh being dh. blocked drains the list is endless. i will read up on everyone but just wanted to pop in and say hi im still alive

MaryBS · 21/06/2006 21:30

Hi,

Sorry, I'm on a bit of a high at the moment - THINK it went well, the one thing they all said that stands out about me is that I speak with passion. I was asked some pretty tough questions. For example when I said I struggled with St Paul and what he had to say about women in church, they asked me how did I come to terms with applying to be a reader - that was probably the hardest thing.
I'm buzzing! Alleluia Praise God!!!!

Sorry, when I come down a bit, I'll come and pray for you - I feel a bit guilty feeling like this when there are so many problems

Oh and CD - they liked my talk!!!!

MaryBS · 21/06/2006 21:32

Oh and I won't know until the bishop gets back from retreat (aka football apparently - they weren't sure whether he was in retreat in Nuremburg, Berlin or Cologne! ) - so who knows when I'll know?

MaryBS · 22/06/2006 07:23

Mrsgee - praying for you and all your problems, that you may get the help you need and strength to cope with them

CD - still praying for your DDs and hope the party went well!

Tigert- glad your DDs operation went well and praying that she continues to improve and that the stitches don't bother her too much. Thank God for skilled surgeons!

A bit more about last night (sorry I'm hijacking the thread!). There were 5 interviewers. We prayed and had a reading from the bible to start with. Then I was called up to do my talk. It was a bit difficult because I had to stand up in one 'corner' of a circle while they listened to me, nothing to lean on, put my notes on! The talk went well, but I had to rely on my notes a lot as I found that during practice because it was so structured I couldn't do it from memory. Then afterwards I was asked what I thought of my own performance. I said I felt it went well, but because of the above, I really needed my notes more than perhaps I would on another topic. They agreed with me. They asked lots of questions about OC - there was a Dr there, so I was glad I knew my stuff! Then 3 interviews, one after the other, 20 mins each. First one to assess my spirituality - toughest of the lot. I struggled with answers to difficult questions. Some I felt I answered well, others I had barely started to answer before they questioned me more about what I had said. Like what St Paul said. My and my mouth - I said that it was hard to accept certain parts of the bible, particularly with what St Paul says about women in the church. That led on to how do I answer people who say that you should accept everything in the bible in its entirety? Also talked about the divisions in the C of E, and the changes going on. Whew! The second interview was about how I'd been called - that was a really good interview. Everything I said, the reader interviewing me was 'yes, thats how it was with me'! Good sign! Third interview, how I'd cope with the work. Didn't help they only had the first page of my application and didn't know they hadn't got the second page! When I told them I'd got a degree, they asked me why I hadn't put it on the form! I think this interview went well too.
It was all just so exciting and challenging. I'd never been questioned so deeply in my life and it was a relief to be able to share my beliefs so enthusiastically.
I thank God again and again for the support he gave me last night. I pray that I did Him justice!

I'm still buzzing I've hardly slept!

Pudmog · 22/06/2006 08:32

I am on the verge of giving up!!! ds(21 months) spent tues/weds in hospital following a ridiculously horrendous sudden asthma attack. At least his chest problems have now got a proper diagnosis. I am so upset though-poor boy- hates inhalers and steroids, but is soooo good, in that he screams the whole way through them but, doesn't fight me off physically. He will get used to it. He is very tired and grumpy because of the steroids and sleep disruption- as is mummy, who also has a streaming cold. Supposed to be doing a buffet for Sunday for when we meet our new vicar-think I will go against all my principles and go to Waitrose on Sat.!! Sorry about long whinge- very gald to pray for you all as it takes my mind off ds and coming to terms with having another asthmatic child!

CaptainDippy · 22/06/2006 10:19

Morning!

Big news in the Dippy Household - DD2 went to bed in her normal cot in her normal room (same room as DD1) last night, didn't fuss and stayed there!! Praise God!! She is still obviously not well, clingy and tried and crying a lot, but a vast improvement on how she was before I started administering the Anti-B's, bless her. Thank you for all your prayers - we're still a rather sickly hosuehold, but it improving slooooowly!!

Soooooo pleased your interview went well last night MaryBS - It was lovely to have you "buzzing" all over thread!! The interview process sounded really, really tough - I admire you for getting through it with such panache!! Yey for you!! I hope your Vicar comes back from his "retreat" soon (I'm guessing around the 1st week in July ), so you can find out the outcome of all your hard work - Well Done you!!

Awwwwww, mrsgee and pudmog - Thank you for posting guys, wonderful to hear from you!! I am soooo sorry things are tough for you both atm. Your poor little DS pudmog with his asthma - must be horrid having to give him all the drugs etc (how old is he??) I can't stand having to force stuff into them, breaks my heart. I am glad he has a condition that is managable though - Praise God for medical advances!! Hope your buffet lunch goes ok too - don't blame you for going to Waitrose, I think you deserve to sweetheart - Don't feel guilty, just go do it, I say - You are well justified!! How is the PG going? Still feeling rough?? Lots of [hugs] and prayers to you ....

mrsgee - Stuff sounds like a right old struggle for you atm and I am sorry for it. Praying for strength and for patience as you deal with all the crap. Praying your LO's settle soon and give you a bit of peace / a break - What's up with your plumbing? Will it be fixed soon? My friend's washer has just broken and she is bringing piles of dirties over here as she has a DS and a newborn DD, not to mention a DH to wash for, poor thing. It is just soooo inconvienient!! Lots of [hugs] and prayers to you too. xxxx

Right, should get on with other stuff now......

PandaG · 22/06/2006 11:14

Good to 'see' you Mrs Gee. Will pray for you.

Pudmog, will pray for your poor ds. DS and I are both asthmatic, but only mildly. Will pary for your cold too, and that you will all get the rest you need.

MaryBS - your buzzing is infectious! Glad you feel it went well, we await the news with baited breath.

CD - so pleased dd2 slept better last night. Praying the antib's continue to do their job and she is better soon.

CaptainDippy · 22/06/2006 11:34

Hi there PandaG - How are you doing honey??

I thought I would let this thread run to the end of June and then start another thread beginning a little end of May / June round up as it is once again, getting a wee bit loooong!! (Yey!)

Is everyone cool with that??

OP posts:
Xavielli · 22/06/2006 14:14

Oh, just realised I didn't answer my question re-denomonations (If anyone is interested?!?)

I am a born again Christian and I worship in a pentecostal church called Living Faith International. Our services include bible study, praise worship(Singing dancing happy clappy stuff!! yay!) and sermon. Just wanted to say I love the non-"religious" aspects of is... we call a spade a spade if you see what I mean.

I was raised a catholic too CD et al, and I am no way going back there, too much hellfire and damnation for my liking!

CaptainDippy · 22/06/2006 14:28

Don't forget the brimstone, Xavielli!!

We clap in my church too!!

OP posts:
katzg · 22/06/2006 14:40

i am so bad at keeping up with this thread!

i think i need to set aside 30mins a week for it.

tigerT · 22/06/2006 15:02

So glad you had a better night CD... here's hoping that your DD is truly on the mend.

Mary BS - great to hear that all went well last night - sounds like despite the worrying beofrehad, you ended up taking it in your stride...look forward to hearing the outcome when Bish returns...

Pudmog - praying for you... and I'd go with Waitrose if I was you!

xx

CaptainDippy · 22/06/2006 15:55

Hi Tigert - How's your wee DD doing today? - Been thinking of her a lot, poor wee mite!! [hugs] to her - and to you too!!

Hi katzg - they'll be another round-up at the end of the month Great to have you pop in anyway - always nice to "see" you!! how's everything going, esp re: jobs etc??

Need to finish hoovering .... lacking motivation!!

OP posts:
Pudmog · 22/06/2006 16:26

Please pray for our my children's school, particularly the head and the governors. A ridiculous accusation has been made against it which will have a huge impact on the school and the community. I am not saying anymore-just that this parent has totally blown everything out of proportion and the school is one of the best for inclusion I have come across. It will be hitting the national news tonight and the sun and the mail tomorrow- need I say more!!!!

CaptainDippy · 22/06/2006 16:55

Oh pudmog - It sounds very serious and very awful. I am sorry this has happened to the school where your children go - I am praying hard, esp. for the govenors and the Head. I hate it when silly people blow things out of all proportion with no regard for the consequences at all. I'll be watching out for it on the news later. Do keep us posted!! How are you doing anyway? Are you having a better day? How is the PG going? Stil feeling rough? [hugs]

OP posts:
tigerT · 22/06/2006 19:09

Thanks CD - DD is fine now, although the stitches are getting to the itchy stage now I think. She has been soooo clingy since the op tho - resorted to cooking dinner with her in the backpack as she wouldn't let me put her down for a moment. Hope that it is just a (short)phase!!

Pudmog - will pray for the school - how awful. As a primary school teacher myself (one day a week at the mo) I can only imagine what the staff are feeling. Will pray that it is dealt with quickly with minimum impact, particularly on the children.

xx

CaptainDippy · 22/06/2006 19:43

It will pass, I assure you Tigert - my DD's always get ridiculously clingy when they are not well and then all of a sudden you realise the behaviour has stopped and you didn't even notice!! When does she have to have stiches out?? [hugs]

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 22/06/2006 22:05
