Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Morning all.

CD ask at your local chemist for a medicine dummy. They look like a dummy, but with a small container at the back for medicine and work like syringe squirting the medicine it. Couldn't have survived without mine.

God bless and prayers for all.

MarsLady · 19/06/2006 10:07

Quick update for you.

My friend with prostrate cancer has been given the all clear. He's looking forward to tasting food again. So please give thanks.

My friend with non-Hodgkins lymphoma has a stem cell transplant booked for Thursay. Please pray that he stays well for the op and that it goes well. Also, he'll need prayer for the following four weeks because he will have NO immunity system. Please continue to pray that God provides for the family as they have no income whilst he's ill.

Thanks Smile

PandaG · 19/06/2006 10:37

Morning all Smile

Pudmog - so sorry to hear that you are not feeling settled in your church. I agree that maybe a trial at the Vineyard would be a good idea, although it must be so hard as I am sure you don't really want your family worshipping in two different places, if your DH continues to go to the C of E. I know for me, I prefer to be somewhere with lively worship, where the children are welcomed and can join in (and there is engaging, suitable children's work) A more traditional church can provide all that, but not always.

In response to your q Xavielli, we go to a joint Anglican and Baptist church, I went to a Methodist church as a child, and we were married there, and moved away. After trying a couple of churches for about a year we settled where we are now, and DH and I got baptised by full immersion at the same baptism, in order to become full members of the Baptist strand of the church.

CD so sorry to hear about your rough night, praying that you get a better one today. I hear Medised is good when children are so beside themselves they can't sleep, teething pain is horrid isn't it, and when they are so small they can't understand. Will pray for your DH, that God will provide a payrise for him so you are able to move out. I love my IL's dearly, but would be tearing my hair out if I lived with them - how do you cope?

MaryBS - glad the bbq was good, and that your DH was there and had a good time. Praying that your wise vicar will continue to include him, and that through belonging he will start to believe. My 2 are the other way round by the way, DS is 6 and DD is 4.

Back later - is DH's birthday today, and I need to make him a cake. Haven't bought a present yet either - he is going out for the day with a couple of mates on Saturday, and that is his main present, but couldn't think of anything to get him from the kids. Trying not to buy something for the sake of it, and anyway, he doesn't need any more slippers or socks, which is the kind of stuff they usually get him, and he hasn't eaten the chocolate I bought him for Christmas yet. If he wants music he downloads it, and his sister bought him the only cd he actually wanted, so I am stumped!

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2006 14:19

Hey there!! Well, we survived!! Went to the Party at the farm this morning, despite the rain!! Had a lovely time although both the DD's were knackered, particularly DD2, bless her - so a bit of whinging and crying, but no too bad considering!! I definitely couldn't have done it without DH being there though, my two are a right handful when they are a bit grumpy and tired - Praise God for my fantastic DH!!! Grin DD's are both asleep now - YEY!!! So I'm catching up on a few bits and pieces.....

Thanks for the tip about the medicine dummy NQSTM - I'd never heard of them, but they sound perfect. Both of mine are dummy obssessed (much to my shame!) so I'll definitely go and find one of those tomorrow!! Smile

Happy Birthday PandaG's DH!! Grin Men are soooo hard to buy for (esp. when they don't need pants / socks / slippers etc) - every sympathy to you!! Hope he has a super time out at the weekend - and that he appreciates you letting him go too!! Wink In response to your question - I can only say that God must have given me supernatural powers of endurance in dealing with my in-laws!! Grin To be fair to them, they are very lovely and it is soooo good of them to share their space with us all this time. Not to say they don't completely do my head in (esp. MIL!!) I can't wait to move out - perhaps we might actually spend some time with them when we do!!!! (Ships passing in then ight and all that!!) Thank you for your compliments though - I think we're pretty amazing for dealing with them tbh!! Grin

Hurrah!! for your friend with prostrate cancer being put in the clear, Marslady!!! Smile That is super news - Thank you God!! Smile Praying hard for your other friend as he/she has their cell transplant on Thursday and for the weeks afterwards as they recover and gain immunity etc. Keep us posted honey - Good to hear from you, thank you for updating!! Smile

Thank you so much for posting the link about Emkana, Xavelli!! Smile We must all pray for her as her little one is bought out into the world today (or soon, knowing what I do about bloomin' inducing!!) - It is going to be a real testing time for Emkana and for all her family. Praying so much for that little precious babe. xxx

Well, lots to do before little one's awaken. Prayers to you all and lots of [hugs] xxxx

Not posted in a little while as things have been hectic here. My nanny died in her sleep yesterday evening, it was very peaceful and she just slipped away. I last saw her on Thursday and I took ds2 with me while ds1 was at pre-school, I couldn't have taken ds1 as he's too highly strung and he would have been very upset at seeing her. So glad that I went and got the chance to say goodbye, she opened one eye when we got there and looked at us as if to say I know you're here and then she slept the rest of the time while I talked to her. Ds2 snuggled up next to her on the bed and held her hand, it was nice to say goodbue with ds2 with me, although the way she looked and how ill she was will stay with me forever. Thank you for all your prayers and they have been answered, she died peacefully and her pain and suffering have ended and she is in a much better place with her friends and loved ones.

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2006 18:22

I am so glad that your nanny went in such a lovely, peaceful manner Kate100. She is in a much better place now!! Smile So pleased you got to say "goodbye" as well, your DS2 sounds like a sweetie, bless him. [hugs] to you.

Kate, I feel sad for you, but I am glad your nan is finally at peace.... Eternal rest give on to her Oh Lord...

Marslady, praying for both of your friends, with thanks for the one given the all clear, and for strength for the one who's battle is still going on....

Praying for Emkana too, that it all goes smoothyl

CD - you might have seen Kiwikat has been in touch. Please God that she holds her baby soon! Praying for you and your family too, that they get better quick! I'd get 2 of those dummies, they sound a great idea, and you don't want fights over them :o

This'll make you laugh, I picked up my bible - wanted to read a couple of passages, to calm me down and prepare me. It fell open at the front and the line that caught my eye was at the top - "To the reader". I'm telling you, God has a sense of humour :o

MaryBS · 19/06/2006 18:26

or even 'unto her', sorry Blush

peachyClair · 19/06/2006 20:02

Hi

Not strayed in here before, but I wanted to sk if you could pray for a family who are friends of ours. The son is Dh's best friend, his Father is also a good friend, best friend of FIL and died yesterday afternoon Sad. He was ill, but had recenbtly been allowed home on occasion,a nd although we knew it wqs terminal we thought he would see Christmas at least- one of the Sons was even trying for a baby with his wife, in the hope it would get to meet his dad before he died.

I know he will be sadly mised, he was the sort who loved life and really cared about people, when my in laws divorced he never said a bad word about MIL and always made time for Sam when others labelled him.

thank you

MaryBS · 19/06/2006 21:49

peachyClair, consider it done! Thats really sad :( - was he very old?

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2006 23:07

Hey there!!

Yes I did see that Kiwikat had been in touch MaryBS - so glad you are there to support her through this difficult time - God has a funny way of bringing these things together, doesn't He!!? Smile

Hi peachyclair!! Good to see you on our thread - will definitely be praying for that family as they come to terms with their loss. Just feel so incredibly Sad, don't know what to say. Do keep us updated - lots of praying going on here!!

DD2 has woken up once since we put her down at 7pm, so here's hoping that was the first and last time tonight!! I'll let you know in the morning - Night guys!! Smile

OP posts:
PandaG · 19/06/2006 23:09

Peachy - will pray, sorry to hear the news.

Kate - as CD said, glad to hear your Nanny went peacefully, praying for peace for you all over the next few days and weeks.

Mary - your comment about the reader made me laugh, will pray for you on Weds.

CD - glad you survived the morning, hope and pray your DDs sleep better tonight.

We are just back from a lovely meal out for DH's bday, babysitting courtesy of a good friend, arranged this afternoon when I realised I hadn't organised a birthday treat for him. Thank you God for good friends who babysit at the drop of a hat, and for a DH who is delighted with a homemade cake and interesting artwork from the children for his birthday. Goodnight all Smile

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2006 23:11

Glad you had a lovely time out PandaG - LOL @ "interesting artwork" from the children - Grin

OP posts:
MaryBS · 20/06/2006 07:39

CD - yes, you're right about how God brings it all together... if I hadn't been asking for prayers here, and sharing about the OC, then you saw something on another thread that I wouldn't have seen.... its wonderful really! Praise God! :o How are your 2 feeling now, btw? Did you have a good night?

PandaG, glad you had a good night out. I love all the 'interesting artwork' - kids our children's age can be so creative! :o

As for babysitters - my Vicar kindly volunteered his wife for tomorrow night.... then forgot to tell her! Good job I know what he's like..... this time I couldn't use our usual babyscarer as it would involve putting the children to bed as well, and he's only 16, bless him! I mean, what a great idea, having interviews at 7pm!

CaptainDippy · 20/06/2006 09:01

Interviews at 7pm!! Strange!! Will be thinking of you and praying for you lots and lots tomorrow, MaryBS!! Smile

DD2 is a teeny bit better, only woke up three time last night, much better than every 45mins. She seems a bit brighter today, bless her. DD1's cold has gone worse, very tired, streaming nose etc, poor thing. So Dippy Household is limping along..... I'm supposed to be working in the shop again this a/n so I hope DD's will be ok for nursery. We just have to see.....

Praying for everyone - esp Emkana and Tigert. xx

Mary, 60. Not really old. It was cirrhosis, but he was a non drinker so they don't know what triggered it.

CaptainDippy · 20/06/2006 11:17

60 is no age at all. Sad How are you and all the family doing?? Lots of [hugs] and prayers. xx

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 20/06/2006 11:39

Morning all, peachyclaire am praying for you all.

Ds is cutting his last tooth and is feeling pretty miserable and clingy, have brought him home from toddler group because he is not a happy chappy. Have a birthday party to go to this afternoon so I hope he is ok.

Right better go sort some stuff out for tea as will need to put it on before party as it starts at 4.

MaryBS · 20/06/2006 12:08

peachy, you're right, 60 is no age! :( I don't normally ask the age, but something in what you wrote made it sound like they weren't that old. My prayers are with the family.

lwtg - hope DS is OK before the party. Its no fun with teeth problems!

CD - have you tried the medised? I think its got a decongestant as well as paracetamol in. As for the interviews - they normally do them on a Saturday, all day, but as there's only 2 of us, they're squeezing them in, in the evening.

Prayers for Emkana, Tigert and Kiwikat too.... Kiwikat is seeing the consultant today. Hopefully he's got a brain and will look at inducing this week rather than next.

MaryBS · 20/06/2006 17:02

Fantastic news!!!! :o

CaptainDippy · 21/06/2006 10:54

Yes indeed - Wonderful news about Emkana's little man, Sebastian Edward - Now we just have to pray for them as they face uncertainty about little Sebastian's future health; but sooooo overjoyed that he is doing ok now and that he seems strong and healthy - Little fighter!! Thank you sooooo much for posting the link Xavielli (you beat me to it!! )

to teething lwtg - Yuk Yuk Yuk - I have every sympathy honey - my two are teething at the same bloomin' time atm!! Bless 'em!! Did you managed to get to the Birthday Party ok yesterday afternoon? - I hope so and I hope you all had a fabby time!!

Well, ill health continues to plague the Dippy Daughters. DD1's cold has escalated, poor mite - she has a streaming nose and a horrid cough. I get sooo paranoid about her little chest since she had pneumonia last year. DD2 is still screaming at night and not settling. DH and I are exhasted and just hoping that this will stop soon - It has got to the point where I have had to cancel a meal round a friend's house on Fri night because I don't want to leave her with a babysitter. This is all new to me. Poor little thing - I took her to the Dr this morning and he says she has an upper respiritory tract infection (without listening to her chest!!?) She is definitely teething and now has a weird sort of fungal growth just below her bottom lip. I guess her immune system is just really low cos she is teething so she's more susceptible to ill health, but it is breaking my heart to watch her suffer. The Dr gave me some strong antibiotics so we're going to have fun and games trying to get that down her. Please please pray she takes the medicine ok and she gets better soon. I am so worried about her - sorry for waffling!!

Prayers to all and lots of love. xxxx

captdippy your poor little ones we were like this last year but thankfully it doesn't last forever. As they get bigger their airways get bigger and all those yukky colds don't affect them quite so badly.

We did get to party and nurofen had kicked in by then plus by the time they had got in the car on the way home and raided the party bags they were something of a handful, a bit like they are right now actually.
