Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Here goes .....

Evenin' all!! Soap boxes it is then PandaG!!? Wink Grin

Praying for you all lots - How's it going??

Not much to report here really - everything was fine in the shop today. I'm working again tomorrow, practically all day!!! Shock I'm in demand!! Smile

Have a wee prayer request for a friend, Helen. She had really awful Hypermesis with her 1st PG. She is PG again (due in Jan) and is suffering all over again Sad Poor thing. She's narrowly avoided being hospitalised and is currently stuck in bed feeling super super crappy. Don't know what to pray really - Just take it away Lord!!!!! Thank you.

Laters ......

OP posts:
MaryBS · 07/06/2006 22:15

I don't know what Hypermesis is, but I'll pray for Helen.....

Just come back from assisting at the final Confirmation class for the candidates at my church. It was a really good session, Praise God! Their faith is inspiring and they're a privilege to work with. Please pray for them, they're being confirmed on 16 June.

Pudmog · 08/06/2006 07:56

Thank you for your prayers- not doing too well in the heat(never do) with the sickness. Might have to see GP soon- at least i can keep water down. Am trying to convince myself it is not hyperemesis!

Did anyone see 'Return to the monastery' last night- how inspirational.

CaptainDippy · 08/06/2006 09:32

Morning all! Off to work in the shop v.soon so just popping in - Praying for you all!! Smile

Hyperemesis is morning sickness gone haywire basically!! Try googling it, it is truly awful - Lots of sufferers have it for the whole of their PG and often have to be hospitalised to have IV fluids etc etc - I just realise how blessed I am to have had two reasonable PGs without too much sickness (well without warranting a hospital stay anyway!!)

Byeeeeeee! Smile

OP posts:
Twiga · 08/06/2006 09:38

Morning CD! Have a good day at the shop Smile. Hyperemisis - yuk! A close pal of mine was in hospital 3 times before it all finally settled down, so rough - much sympathy to your pal and you Pudmog.

kate100 · 08/06/2006 10:03

Morning all, I didn't get the job, but Dh's meeting went really well and he's got a new job, so I might not have to go back to work, so i'm not too disappointed. I'm thinking of it as interview practice Smile But thank you all so much for the prayers you sent my way.

CaptainDippy, that's great news about your job, you clever thing. Have you applied for the other one yet? Praying for your friend too. My nursery nurse had this and lost 5 stone in weight Shock

Wilbur, feel so bad about your friends Sad praying for strength for them

MaryBS, I think it's defintely the right choice for you. I'm a firm believer in signs and I think that's definitely one for you Smilemaybe CaptainDippy or PandaG will lend you a soapbox Grin

Xavielli, so sorry for your loss.

My Dad is LOADS better today, much more like his old self and my brother finishes a job that made him really unhappy today and starts a new job on Monday and the sun is shining!! I hope today will be a good day for us all.

Notquitesotiredmum · 08/06/2006 10:32

Hi ladies

Flying in to say hello. I am feeling much brighter this week having been under a really gloomy cloud last week. Wasn't up to praying for you all then, but will get back on track now . . . but I must get on with some work first.

(Pudmog - when I was first pregnant with ds1, a much wanted baby, and very chuffed with life, the midwife at my booking in appointment talked about terminations 3 times during the time I was with her!! I was too shocked to respond appropriately at the time, but got the feeling that that was her standard approach, covering the subject early on. She left shortly afterwards (to go on maternity leave!) but I don't think your GP was alone in taking this line. Sooo sad.)

Now I'm off to work. God bless all.

Notquitesotiredmum · 08/06/2006 11:41

And yes, I did see 'The Monastery Revisited' last night. It was insirational. Just checked out the website and found this prayer, which was Tony's blessing. Isn't it lovely:

May your soul calm, console and renew you. May the light of your soul guide you. May the light of your soul bless the work you do with the secret love and warmth of your heart.

May the day never burden you. May dawn find you awake, alert, approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities and promises. May you go into the night blessed, sheltered and protected.

katzg · 08/06/2006 11:41

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so far behind again!

MaryBS · 09/06/2006 20:26

Can I pray for prayers? :o

I am leading the prayers for intercession on Sunday, which (of course) I know is Trinity Sunday, but am struggling to come up with something simple enough for a family service (which it is also)......

Its funny, nothing is guaranteed to empty my mind quicker (to be receptive to God's word?) than to try and write something like this.... :o

CaptainDippy · 10/06/2006 09:56

No, I didn't work again yesterday, but it does look like they would like to take me on permenantly - Hurrah!! (Thank you for your prayers!!) Smile

The Church of England World Cup prayer

Lord God, the source of all life and joy, recreation and skill,/ we pray for all involved in the World Cup,/ and especially for those who represent our nation:for good health for the players,/ for high standards of sportsmanship and fairness,/ and for the safety and well-being of all who will watch,/ that in our shared enjoyment of the game,/ we may rejoice in the one who came to bring life in all its fullness,/ Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

MaryBS · 11/06/2006 05:44

PRAISE GOD! I've prepared my written work for Reader selection! I prayed (pretty hard!) beforehand, and then let the Spirit guide me! Took me about an hour in total (4:30-5:30am!), although I'd done lots of thinking about it. I'm really pleased with it. Course, I haven't shown it to anyone yet, I was going to take it to church with me today.... although I feel strongly it should be my own work, so I won't change any of it unless there are glaring omissions.

Again I say, PRAISE GOD! :o

MaryBS · 11/06/2006 06:06

Actually that not true, its not my own work, as the inspiration came from above, thank the Lord! :o

CaptainDippy · 11/06/2006 18:05

LOL @ C of E World Cup Prayer - Bless!! Smile

Yey! for completing the written work for your Reader application!! Smile Thank you to God for inspiring you with what you have written!! Smile

All ok in DippyLand - feeling very tired, but ok. How is everyone else?? xxxx
