CaptainDippy · 13/05/2006 08:52

Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Here goes .....

DumbledoresGirl - Finding life tough coping with vomit phobia, especially with DH away a lot - Strength.

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - Relationship with mum (mum drives her loopy re: how to bring up her children etc); all affected by bird flu; relationship with non-Christian DH. Feeling very tired atm!!

Portree - Going through IVF atm

katzg - Has applied for ideal job (closing date 30th May)

Waswondering - Prayers for MNer ruthlouise who recently lost a baby at 18 weeks, she used to have a faith, but doens't anymore.

SaggarMakersBottomKnocker - Friend's DD recently died, prayers for the family as they grieve.

pudmog - Currently dealing with her past - lots of flashbacks, life very tough. Has been having counselling and had a recent breakthough - Praise the Lord!! Smile

Nanou1 - Having to go back to work f/t as DH cannot get a job at present, would like to be a better friend at keeping in touch; learning to be a Christian family - not many Christian friends around. Possible job just come up!!

Wilbur - Friends just about to emabark on their 4th round of IVF at Lister Hospital

NASWM - Life very Sad atm, feeling very low.

PandaG - Thinking hard about where to go re: going back into teaching etc etc atm. Has just become Chair of the PTA. Feeling a bit low and uncertain.

Twiga - DH has surgical exams throughout May, prayers for friends niece was was born early due to pre-eclampsia - has been moved out of closed incubator - Hurrah! Grandpa (90) has just had stroke - needs to let go and be with his Heavenly Father now.

MaryBS - Non-Christian DH has expressed an interest in going to church - Hurrah!

KateF - Lots of stress atm. Thanks for prayers for Philip Dunne who goes to her church, he is improving - Praise the Lord!! Smile

CaptainDippy - Usual prayers re: getting a p/t job and a home of their own; prayers for DD's who are very chesty and unwell, esp as DD1 had pneumonia this time last year; prayers that she will pass her driving test soon!!

JessicaandRebeccasMummy - I know her DH will find out about is happening to his job (he's had health problems for a while) around now - So let's prayer something amazing happens for that little family.

That seems to be about all!!

Bit of excitement today.... someone tried to burn down our neighbour's fence while they were out. A passer by alerted us, and we put out the flames, left a hole in the fence. This is the second arson attack on their fence in a week.... please God thats it, they've had their fun.... Angry

I'm ashamed to say I used the world cup prayer in my bidding prayers, but to even it up I included one of my own, where I thanked God for it only taking place every 4 years :o. I had all the important stuff in as well, praying for peace etc, but I'm nothing if not contemporary! :o
I hope I haven't shocked too many of you!

CaptainDippy · 12/06/2006 07:58

Not at all - LOL!! Grin Church needs a sense of humour!! Grin

Just a quick prayer request - I feel really yukky - I have a cough and blocked up nose and feel faint and grotty. I don't suffer from hayfever or anything, so think I must be coming down with something. Sad Also, I got bitten on my ankle on Sat night. My foot / leg is all swollen and difficult to walk on - obviously a problem when you are looking after a 1 and 2 yr old. Not sure how I'm going to get through today - Please pray for fast recovery!! Thank you!! Smile

Must go - got to hobble off and find DD1!! xx

CD - praying for you, and some practical advice too.... are you sure the bite and the illness aren't connected? You may have an infection. I'd get down the Drs/minor injuries clinic and get both checked out. DH got a bite once, when we were in Canada, and it could have turned serious if we hadn't got it treated.

As for a sense of humour, the Vicar's definitely got one, as have SOME of the congregation ( I definitely heard a snigger during my antifootball prayer :o).

Please pray for me - the closer I get to June 21st, the more stressed/nervous I am getting..... pray for God to strengthen my faith and trust in Him.

CaptainDippy · 12/06/2006 09:07

Defo praying hard MaryBS - your interview date is in my personal diary so I hopefully won't forget (do keep reminding us though, my head is like jelly!!)

Thanks for the advice - I think the illness and bite are probably linked too - I feel aaaawful!! Sad I have a GP appt at 3pm (earliest they could do - greeeat!!) so we'll see what happens. Pants. Pants. Pants. Sigh. Sad

Pray for me as I struggle through the day!! Cheers!! Smile

Lovely children Xavielli - great names too!

Thanks for the update CD - you are fab. Good news about the job, well done. Grin How are you feeling?

MaryBS love that world cup prayer, I don't mind the football myself, but am really amused there is an official c of e prayer! Glad your written stuff is prepared too. Smile

We have been away for the weekend visiting friends. They are hoping to go off working for Operation Mobilisation in Jan next year, if they can raise the funding, so prayers for that would be great. I am shattered, children up far too early (5.15) Sat and Sun, and the heat is so draining. Got sore throat and headache, and generally feeling pants, so will pray for you all and then take myself off to bed.

MaryBS · 13/06/2006 05:53

Thanks for your prayers everyone!

This was my 'anti' World Cup prayer btw:

"We also pray for those frustrated by the endless football coverage in the media, and the constant barrage as soon as we step out of our front doors. For those people, we thank you Lord that its only once every four years." :o

Xavi - your children are adorable! How are they coping with all this heat? Now I see where your username comes from! :o

Panda - whats Operation Mobilisation? I've not come across that. Praying for your friend anyhow.... hope you are feeling better too! Congrats to your DP - you must be very proud of him! Lord, guide him along the path he has chosen to serve you, and may he always be receptive to You and listen to Your voice.

CD - how did you get on at the Drs? I do hope you feel better soon, all this heat can't be helping how you feel!

Praying for Catj's baby too, that she'll soon be home where she belongs, with her family

Pudmog · 13/06/2006 08:13

I would really appreciate your prayers- spent a large proportion of yesterday in excrutiaiting pain, requiring a trip to hospital- thought to be an ectopic, but thank God it isn't. Pain required morphine and they reluctantly let me home late last night- getting loads of blood tests back today.

katzg · 13/06/2006 09:05

thank you for all your prayers - i got short listed so now just need prayers for the interview on the 7th of July

Notquitesotiredmum · 13/06/2006 09:20

Good morning.

Special prayers for you all, but especially Pudmog.

God bless all

CaptainDippy · 13/06/2006 10:27

Good morning - DD's down for a sleep, so just catching up on a few bits and stopping by here en-route!! Hello everyone!! Smile

My foot is a bit better, the swelling has gone down a bit, but still big and red and itchy - ow! The meds the dr gave me completely knock me out, so not taking them til after the DD's are at nursery later and after my driving lesson from 2.40 til 3.40 - Prayer apprecaited!! Hope my feet get completely better soon, most annoying!! I spent a fortune on insect repellant yesterday in the Chemist, so hopefully I shouldn't get another one of these this summer - and most importantly, neither should the DD's!!! Smile Apart from thatm all good in the Dippy Household - going to pick my wages up from the shop today and see if I can wangle that p/t job. Got to finish filling in the admin form for church too....soooo much to dooooo!! Smile

Poor PandaG - Hope you get some sort of chance to rest - Praying that your LO's would have a bit of a lie-in. Mine had a lie-in this morning til 7.30am and it did me the world of good as they are normally up between 6 and 7am - Yuk!! Praying for your friends as they prepare to go and do OM - For more info look \link{ www.om.org/founder/history.jsp\here}

Shock Oh poor pudmog - must have been so scary for you to be rushed into hospital like that!! Praise the Lord it was not eptopic!!!!! Grin Just praying for you as you have all the tests etc. Praying they find out what the pain was soon so you can have some peace of mind - Praying so much for that precious unborn babe of yours. xxxx

Hi katzg!!! Will defo be praying for your interview on July 7th - Do remind us all nearer the time as well though - mummies with sieves for heads and all that!! Grin Hope you get it, if it is in God's Will, of course!! Smile

Well, lot of parcels to wrap for posting this afternoon (Birthday mad around here atm!!!) See you all later!! Smile [hugs] xxxx

Katz Well done for being shortlisted - that is great news! Grin

CD - glad you are feeling a bit better, thanks for the link to OM, it has given me more background than I knew.

Pudmog, so sorry to hear of your pain and worry. Praying that you will find out the cause of the pain soon, and thanking God that it is not ectopic

Mary - see CD's link to OM, our friends are hoping to go for 2 1/2 yrs, with 2 small children.

I am feeling less tired than yesterday, had an early night, but still sore throat etc., can't decide if it is hayfever or a summer cold. Still, am glad for the sleep!

MaryBS · 13/06/2006 21:44

Oh BUM!

I just typed in a megalong post and its lost it all! Shock

Please forgive me, I'm tired, but rest assured I'm praying for you all (and if you'd seen my original post, you'd have seen that Shock
