CaptainDippy · 13/05/2006 08:52

Hello everyone!!

As PandaG mentioned, the thread was getting a tad long, so I thought it was about time to begin another one!!

I'll start with a summary of all prayer requests in April and May (this obviously doesn't mean that any prayer requests before that time are now null and void - but the list would just be waaaay too long - So please do refer to the other threads from time-to-time to catch up on prayer requests before April 2006!!)

Here goes .....

NotQuiteSoTiredMum - Relationship with mum (mum drives her loopy re: how to bring up her children etc); all affected by bird flu; relationship with non-Christian DH. Feeling very tired atm!!

Oh and I forgot to add, DH's dad is home from hospital now. They've given him some tablets to ease the pain (DH doesn't know what they are/what they do, so no info there!), and he is to have a camera put down his throat to have a look at what's wrong.
It also came out that his dad suffers from angina, something he'd been keeping from DH (although his sisters knew!).

Please keep praying for him!

MaryBS · 06/06/2006 08:04

Finally, has anyone heard from nearlythree? Still praying for her....

CaptainDippy · 06/06/2006 08:29

Morning - Not long to post, but popping in to say hi!! Praying for you all!! Smile

What a great subject to choose MaryBS - Good idea!! Smile Will be praying it goes really well, so let us know when it is going to be!! Great news about your DH's dad being home too - Don't really know what to say except that they find out exactly what it wrong with him soon and they can start treating him properly etc. I've had the camera down my throat thing done and it was uncomfortable and not nice, but it was ok, poor man!! Sad Do keep updating us!! Smile [hugs]]

No, I haven't heard anything about nearlythree - perhaps we should put a little "shout out" in chat!!? Let her know we're thinking of her and praying for her here!! ... and perhaps get a response from someone who knows what it going on... Smile Do hope everything is ok!!

All fine in DippyLand - need to go and have a shower. I'm in the shop from 3.30 til 5.30 today as a trial, pray it goes well - Thank you for your encouragement Twiga, much appreciated!! Smile

Just had a little search for nearlythree and I found her - I think the reason she hasn't posted about her birth etc is because she has had a pretty crappy time of it since the LO was born - she has definitely had a little baby though - so praise God for that!! Grin Sounds like she could do with a bit of prayer as she copes with poorly children, tiny baby and sore nipples, poor love!! Here's a thread that will give you an idea of what has been going on.....

Mary - so glad you've chosen a topic - really sensible to do something you have already researched for a reason.Smile

Kate 100 - will pray for your dad

CD, hoping that the trial is going well.

Comeoveneer, I didn't see the original thread, but I am still delighted that your nephew should be home today Grin

All well here, sun is shining, sky is blue, just spent an hour in the park, now kids are crashed out in front of the telly I can read a few threads in peace!

MaryBS · 06/06/2006 17:18

Thanks CD for finding out about nearlythree! How did you get on at work today?

Also thanks everyone for your good wished for my selection. Actual selection takes place on the evening of 21st June, so not long! TBH I'd rather it was a different day, I'm a payroll administrator and I'm processing my quarterly payroll that day - about 90,000 people in total! Always a very stressful time! Still, it'll take my mind off it :o I just keep saying to God "I believe and trust in you" over and over, and I find that calming!

Praying for your Dad, Kate100

Glad to hear about your nephew Comeoveneer

Also praying for Emkana

Pudmog · 06/06/2006 21:10

please can you pray for an ongoing situation at my church, which has resulted in nasty gossip, disrupted friendships and completely wrong and inappropriate judgments being made about me. I have only recently returned to church and it is all getting me down. I have changed and moved on , but it seems like the others involved are not so gracious. I am trying to be polite and slightly coded. It is all a mess and as I say I am really struggling- confidence doesn't come naturally to me anyway.

Thank you.

This thread is great and I shall continue to pray for you all.

CaptainDippy · 06/06/2006 21:25

Hey there all!! Good to hear from you PandaG and MaryBS (have put selection date in my personal diary for you!! Smile)

Hi pudmog!! So Sad to hear about your situation at church, that is really crap for you. People just cannot let things go sometimes. Have you thought about perhaps going to another church? Starting over even though it woul be really tough? You poor thing - Just praying God does an amazing work like only He can through the whole messy situation. I pray He puts lovely new people in your path who can build you up as a person and make you feel better about yourself. God loves you and thinks that you are beautiful!! Smile Anyway - how is the pregnancy going?? Last time you posted you announced it and not I am wanting to know more!! Tell all .....Smile

Off to bed soooooon......

OP posts:
Pudmog · 06/06/2006 21:30

There is no way I can leave because of my family's involvement. I can't say anymore just in case someone from church recognises the situation.

Feeling extremely sick, especially around food. Although I was in denial and a bit cross- I am thrilled now- 8 weeks tomorrow. Am contemplating writing a letter of complaint to my GP as the first thing she did was question me having 4 children, then offer me a termination! My protective mother insticts kicked in and I did give her an earful!!

kate100 · 06/06/2006 21:37

Pudmog Shock that's appalling!!! Lucky you having 4 babies Smile

Thanks for the prayers for my family, can I be cheeky and add myself too. I have a job interview tomorrow and I'm terrified. i'm not sure I'm right for the job, but they chose to interview me so I will give it my best. Also feeling strange at the idea of getting the job and then being away from my boys.

Good news about choosing a topic MaryBS, sounds a good idea to do something you understand so well and have a great knowledge of.

Praying for Emkana, Pudmog and others and thankful for Comeovenner's nephew.

CaptainDippy · 06/06/2006 21:53

Wil defo pray Kate100 - I'd be terrifed too!! (Sorry that is probably not the most helpful thing to say!! Blush) Really hope it goes ok - What time is it? Will be praying hard!! Smile

Shock @ your GP pudmog - How bloody dare he / she!!? So glad it is going ok though - Congratulations again!! Smile I would love four children eventually - so good on you!! Smile Just to make you feel better - when I had my booking in appointment with my midwife when I was PG with DD2, I took DD1 with me. She was 6 months old and the 1st thing the MW say was: "Oh dear. Whoops-a-daisy. Bit of a mistake was it?" [Shock Angry Grrrrrr!! How rude - Yes, I did in fact actually plan to have 15 months between my babies - and even if I didn't what right does she have to say that to me!!!!!!?

Blush

All the very best anyway pudmog!! Smile

OP posts:
MaryBS · 06/06/2006 22:44

Hi Pudmog, thats awful about the church. Obviously, I don't know the circumstances, but hold your head up high, your conscience is clear. I'm not sure if this would help, but have a look at 1 Corinthians 6 v1-7. I'm relatively new to the church I'm going to as well and someone (fortunately not at the church) made a few quips about how I was 'having an affair with the Vicar". Was I livid! Apart from the fact it isn't true, I'd hate to see the church torn apart by rumours like that.

Will post more later. Prayers for everyone though! :o

MaryBS · 07/06/2006 06:35

Pudmog, sorry to hear you had such a rough time with your Dr, what an ignorant comment! I pray you can get things sorted at church too

Kate100, here's praying the job is what you want and that the interview goes well. If as you say, it isn't what you're looking for, then think of it as interview practice. Pause before you answer any questions, it will show that you're considering an answer (unless its something like, whats your name?).

Xavielli · 07/06/2006 09:40

An elderly lady in our church died this morning.
Just wanted to thank the Lord for her salvation as she is with him now! Allelujah!

Prayers for strength to carry on without her would be greatly appreciated.

wilbur · 07/06/2006 09:57

Hello everyone. I'm very sorry to report that my dear friends' IVF did not work (4th time of trying). They are devastated, of course, but have decided to take a step back and decide what to do next, possibly adoption. Please spare some prayers as they try and come to terms with all this, it is a very hard time for them.

CaptainDippy · 07/06/2006 10:07

Sad for your friends Wilbur - So so sorry. Sad Praying there is some solution they can find. Words fail me. Just thanking the Lord that I have been blessed with two beautiful, healthy children. I am just so Sad for them. Will they go private? Adoption? There are still options available. My friends have just had a cute wee boy after 11 years wait - it was worth every second according to them - he is lovely!! Smile

Hi all - Trial in shop went well yesterday - taught the owner some stuff she didn't know about the till - Hee! Hee! Smile Off to work there for a couple of hours now!! Smile Thank you for your prayers - Praying for you all as I wander into town in the glorious sunshine, hurrah!! Smile

[[hugs]]

MaryBS · 07/06/2006 17:08

Wilbur, I am SO sorry to hear about your friends' heartache. I can really sympathise as its what my brother and SIL went through. I pray that God will comfort them in their grief

Xavielli, prayers for your lady from church as well. She is in the best place now.

Kate100 how did you get on at the interview? When will they let you know?

All, you know its funny, after I made that decision to talk about OC at my reader selection, there was a piece on Radio 4 yesterday evening about itching and it talked about OC. When I looked into it, it was repeated again today, and I caught it this time. I find it totally reaffirms my belief that this is the topic I should choose. Firstly because OC rarely comes up in the media, and secondly because I was wondering whether treatment had changed since I had my boy 5 years ago, and it confirmed that both diagnosis and treatment is still the same, so that I know my info is up to date! Thank you God! :o

PandaG · 07/06/2006 17:31

So sorry for your friends Wilbur. My heart and prayers go out to them.

Pudmog - I am angry on your behalf about the comments from your GP, and praying about your church situation.

Mary - so glad you feel your choice of topic has been confirmed.

CD - so glad the trial went well Grin
I was amused that you said in another post maybe this is not the thread to get on your soapbox on - I think that here is a very appropriate place - we are all human and need a good rant from time to time, I certainly do. Having only been on MN for a few months I have been on my best behaviour up till now, but I may be a bit more vocal in the future! Seriously though, I find if I am open and honest about where I am at with my friends, they are much more likely to open up to me, and then I can love them more practically, or offer to pray or whatever.
