Just wanted to start a prayer thread for expat's little girl, Ailidh, who has been very ill with leukaemia. Just wanted to show our support and pray that her treatment works and that she is back in action very, very soon!

I have been following this thread my heart goes out to you and your family expat, sending prayers for aillidh xx

CinnabarRed · 12/06/2012 20:29

Another prayer from here too. CRx

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 12/06/2012 20:32

I have no new info. Will go see them tomorrow after work.

expatinscotland · 12/06/2012 20:36

Aillidh's potassium is down from a scary 7.2 to 4.2. Her bilirubin was high, she is going through platelets at an alarming rate, her haemo is low and she got the shakes from the magnesium. She had more frusamide at 5.30 per renal's instructions.

Oh, she also spiked another temp.

Right now, however, she is sleeping. Her sats are a bit low so she's on oxygen.

ShowOfHands · 12/06/2012 20:38

5yo dd and I talked about Ailidh all the way home from school today and do you know what, the sun came out. DD is going to think about her during morning prayers at school tomorrow. She said to me at bedtime 'that little girl I'm saving my prayers for has a very pretty name. Is she pretty?' I confirmed that she is absolutely beautiful.

Expat I really wish I could do more than just think of you.

expatinscotland · 12/06/2012 20:41

No idea why she is losing platelets and not coagulating. More tests have been sent off.

CheerfulYank · 12/06/2012 20:41

I hope she gets some restful sleep. Poor little dear, how is she supposed to heal if she can't sleep ? Angry

Love and prayers coming to you.

Sirzy · 12/06/2012 20:42

Expat - any chance of you getting some sleep while she is? xx

Showofhands - what a lovely post, when I read the comments from your DD I got more than one tear in my eye x

Elephantscantdothemoonwalk · 12/06/2012 20:56

Expat - can you get rest while she does?

I am so sorry that there is another issue.

annalovesmrbates · 12/06/2012 21:00

My 4 year old DS added "poorly Eillidh" to his bedtime prayers. Thinking of and praying for you both.

Expat - there's going to be a day when this is a story you tell people 'and her potassium went up to.....' and she will be sat there besides you grinning away. She's going to get through this, You are going to get through this. I have faith. Hang on.

stleger · 12/06/2012 21:22

My girls have leaving cert and junior cert here, expat your family has been bolted onto their candle. I hope all goes well, and she'll be doing highers before you know it.

NorkyButNice · 12/06/2012 21:22

I'm keeping you, Ailidh and the rest of your family in my thoughts.

I hope you get some better news soon.

Elephantscantdothemoonwalk · 12/06/2012 21:32

As northernlurker says, there will be a time when you tell people this with her next to you smiling.

She is going to get better. I just feel it.

ToothbrushThief · 12/06/2012 21:37

I wonder if any comment I make is just a platitude and you want to scream on sight of it because it's so insignificant/crap and seems disproportionate to your trauma.

However words fail to express what I want to say so I'm left with the crap platitudes. I do however keep you all in mind all day. Willing you through this x

seb1 · 12/06/2012 22:14

Thinking of you all. x

hiddenhome · 12/06/2012 22:19

lots of love and strength vibes for you all xxx

chipmonkey · 12/06/2012 22:21

I think Aillidh is supposed to get better, she has to!
stleger I have two candle holders on my windowsill at the moment. One has a tiny piece of paper under it saying "ds1 junior cert" and the other has "Aillidh miracle"

sassytheFIRST · 12/06/2012 22:22

Going to sleep now expat but am continuing to hold Aillidh, you and the family in my thoughts. Hoping for that miracle for you all x

2gorgeousboys · 12/06/2012 22:31

More prayers for you, Aillidh and the family from North Yorkshire. DS1 and 2 are also praying for Aillidh in their bedtime prayers. x

simpson · 12/06/2012 22:33

Hope she is able to sleep and heal, thinking of her xxx

expatinscotland · 12/06/2012 22:34

My heart breaks to see her broken little body. Her eyes all sunken and one of them black from low platelets and coughing, her skin all discoloured by the busulphan, how weak she is.

And it also breaks for missing my other little girl, the best little girl in the world, and my wee son.

StealthPolarBear · 12/06/2012 22:41

I have no idea how hard this must be. It sounds heart breaking.

simpson · 12/06/2012 22:43

Cannot begin to imagine what you, her and the rest of your family are going through Sad

A candle will be lit in my house tonight. My kids ask how Aillidh is all the time and she is very much in our thoughts.

I just wish there was something we could do to help Sad
