MN Christian Prayer Request Thread: : Back to school soon

DutchOma · 29/08/2010 21:44

It's been a while since I did an update for the prayer thread; I hope that God will remember those I forget:

Thanks be to God for wonderful exam results for MrsCadwallader and for PositiveAttitude dh's new job.
Prayers for Jentlydoesit's DP to find a new job before the money runs out.

Several regulars on the thread find life quite tough at the moment for one reason or another, let's bear each other up in prayer and practical help where possible: CaptainDippy, M44 (whose very much loved mother-in-law died last week), PositiveAttitude, Teaandcakeplease, Madhairday, Blueeyeshadow, Shieldbug (please pray that all fibroids and cysts will disappear before the next consultant's appointment)

Special thoughts go to Swaliswan for the healing of her marriage and for a safe pregnancy and delivery. Also for Hermya321, it's getting close now, only a few more weeks to go.

We pray for the family in MaMoTTaT's church who lost a daughter at a relatively young age. MaMoTTaT will be better known as FAQ or ToccataandFudge,( how I loved that name)

Last but not least we pray for Amberlight in her worry about ds who is struggling with eye problems for which he needs an operation and who is also having tests for hormonal problems. Please pray for as good an outcome as possible, so that he can carry on with his A-levels and rugby. And for peace of mind for Amber, who really could do with the pressure off for a bit.

So let's give thanks to God for His presence among us and get praying....

L's dad has had a stroke in critical care, she is managing fantastically cause she is that sort of person, but she is really worried, especially about her Mum.

Also, my twins God-parent K has had a break up with her partner of 3 years, she is guttered, please God reassure her, she knows God has special plans for her, but its just not easy when its your 21st birthday a week later.

Both these ladys are christians and I am telling them that I have prayed, please could you help aswell.

BlueEyeshadow · 25/09/2010 16:18

Just a quick one - DS1 is currently rather under the weather with a cold. Please pray that he'll be better by the time he starts nursery on Monday. Thanks.

Hermya321 · 26/09/2010 17:06

Praying for everyone.

Can people pray for my ribs, I'm in a lot of pain and would appreciate some prayer for them.

Also a week on Monday I reach 37 weeks which is term, can you pray that LO makes a swift complication free arrival when I reach this point and doesn't leave me hanging around too much. The only reason I ask is that I'm getting more and more uncomfortable as time progresses.

Thank you all for your prayers so far, I know that you guys have supported me through what has been a bit of a rough pregnancy. I just want to let you know I appreciate all the prayers.

BlueEyeshadow · 26/09/2010 18:20

DS1 has been hugely better today. :)

Praying, Hermya.

CaptainDippy · 26/09/2010 18:37

I've pulled a muscle in my neck, which isn't great Hmm Prayers appreciated for my lovely friend B who is in a really crap place right now Sad xxx

Notquitegrownup · 26/09/2010 20:29

Hi Smile Just wanted to say hello. Was feeling sorry for myself yesterday and realised how much I missed being on this thread! With my 'new' job (now 12 months on) and my boys growing furiously I am still very busy, so not much time for MNetting these days, but I'm hoping things will settle down this year, a little.

Love and prayers for the great MN prayer thread (and especially for Andrew Gosden's family Mary. I do think about them from time to time. Sooooo Sad)

God bless all

CazEM · 26/09/2010 23:40

Thank you to all who prayed for courage for me for the church service tonight. I held it together well, I was certainly granted courage. I wavered a few times and my voice was shaking, body physically shaking the whole way through but I spoke about Belle publically and my return to church. The church applauded me when I got to the end. Got a typical DH reaction after the church service, that he was only there for me. But I hope something moved him and he's too proud to admit it. I keep praying that God will speak to him somehow.

Hermya321 · 27/09/2010 00:42

Caz I'm glad it went well tonight for you, I pray that God will speak to your DH. I pray that you know God's presence and blessing at this time.

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 27/09/2010 08:33

caz, hope you are feeling better, and that God will work in your husband's life,i am trusting God to do the same with mine,he is not saved and i hope one day God will grant me that wish and reveal himself to DH
and you can talk as much as you want about your darling Belle,it helps and we are here for you,

MaryBS · 27/09/2010 10:35

Been a bit "off the radar", but still thinking of you all... posting to get back on the radar...

Was sent this yesterday:

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me?watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." (Matthew 11:28 The Message)

MrsCadwallader · 27/09/2010 11:38

Mary I love that passage! Thanks :)

madhairday · 27/09/2010 12:08

That's a great version of that passage Mary, love 'the unforced rhythms of grace'.

Hermya, praying for comfort and rest for you.

Caz, so glad it went ok, and praying that it did touch dh and that he comes to see God somehow in it all alongside you.

Thanks for your prayers for me this weekend. I coped so well - no chest pain at all which is amazing and can only be answer to prayer as have been on long term codeine for constant pain so I had such a relief from it. Wedding went great, kids were stars, pics on fb for those who know me there :) I really thought I wouldn't get through it but I did.

Please pray for my dh. can't say too much but please could I just ask for prayers for him. thanks.

CaptainDippy · 27/09/2010 15:57

Thank you for that Mary Smile

Well Done Caz - proud ofy ou!! Smile God is doing a work in your DH's heart. I am sure of it WinkSmile xx

Excellent stuff MHD Smile

Wonderful to "see" you NQGU - often think of you!!! WinkSmile xx

MaryBS · 28/09/2010 07:48

You're welcome. Praying MHD - if you need to share, you know I'm here...

I like the "not laying anything ill-fitting on me". I really don't like things that don't fit properly Confused.

Found a wonderful inspirational Christian poem yesterday. When I get chance, I'll type it up and share.

Not feeling very well either - stomach upsets again. I REALLY need to book that Dr's appt!

MaryBS · 28/09/2010 08:38

OK, have booked a Drs appt for 9:40 today. Unfortunately its not with the Dr I wanted... please pray it'll be OK!!!

MaryBS · 28/09/2010 10:51

Update... Dr was nice. Gave me some tablets to help with my stomach - strong antacid and a generous supply of peppermint oil capsules I've been taking already. He seemed clueless re: pins and needles I've been getting though. Am going to have blood tests next week, go back in a month.

gingercurl · 28/09/2010 12:37

Hi, just a quick update re my sister. She is still in awful job but via her network has been approached about coming to work for another company who want to expand into her field of work. She's due to meet with them on Monday to discuss. She has also had another three of leads for potential jobs that she is following up. She actually wrote her resignation letter on the day of my first post and just doing that and seeing it in writing seems to have empowered her somehow. On the whole, not much has changed on paper, but I seem to "feel" that things are moving in the right direction IYKWIM and her outlook is so much more positive.
I see this development as answer to prayer and that God is moving things into place. Thank you for your prayers and I ask for your continued support until this is resolved.

MHD - I'm glad the wedding went well.

It is so inspiring to read the requests and subsequent answers on this thread. It really brings home the God's love and care for us.

Sorry for long post. God bless.

oxocube · 28/09/2010 12:58

To all of you whose husbands (like mine) do not believe, I talked and prayed with one of my church Elders on Sunday for my husband. The lovely man who prayed with me said that regardless of the fact that my husband has no belief in God, God believes in him and loves him anyway and will never give up on him. He also said that he believes that a husband or wife's prayers for their spouse are incredibly powerful, as are a parent's for their child.

Caz, I'm so glad you found the strength to go to church and talk about your Belle. Your post about her and your loss was so heartbreaking.

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 28/09/2010 13:20

you are so right oxocube, and in the meantime w will continue to love and honour them before God and HE will take care of the rest,

madhairday · 28/09/2010 13:21

So glad the doctor was good in the end Mary. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for chat on fb - know it was v quick due to school run but good to get it out a bit, perhaps we could talk more sometime?

ginger - so encouraging that things seem more positive to your sister. I hope and pray that things move along for her now and come to a good resolution for her.

Oxo, very wise your elder - he is right. It must be so hard to have a spouse who doesn't share your belief.

BlueEyeshadow · 28/09/2010 22:18

Ds2 has had a cold for ages that won't seem to shift, and has already woken up 3 times tonight! Any spare prayers for a better night than is threatening would be greatly appreciated.

DS1 has been really loving nursery so far. Tomorrow he has lunch there and will be picked up by the childminder so hoping that goes well too.
