MN Christian Prayer Request Thread: : Back to school soon

DutchOma · 29/08/2010 21:44

It's been a while since I did an update for the prayer thread; I hope that God will remember those I forget:

Thanks be to God for wonderful exam results for MrsCadwallader and for PositiveAttitude dh's new job.
Prayers for Jentlydoesit's DP to find a new job before the money runs out.

Several regulars on the thread find life quite tough at the moment for one reason or another, let's bear each other up in prayer and practical help where possible: CaptainDippy, M44 (whose very much loved mother-in-law died last week), PositiveAttitude, Teaandcakeplease, Madhairday, Blueeyeshadow, Shieldbug (please pray that all fibroids and cysts will disappear before the next consultant's appointment)

Special thoughts go to Swaliswan for the healing of her marriage and for a safe pregnancy and delivery. Also for Hermya321, it's getting close now, only a few more weeks to go.

We pray for the family in MaMoTTaT's church who lost a daughter at a relatively young age. MaMoTTaT will be better known as FAQ or ToccataandFudge,( how I loved that name)

Last but not least we pray for Amberlight in her worry about ds who is struggling with eye problems for which he needs an operation and who is also having tests for hormonal problems. Please pray for as good an outcome as possible, so that he can carry on with his A-levels and rugby. And for peace of mind for Amber, who really could do with the pressure off for a bit.

So let's give thanks to God for His presence among us and get praying....

TACP that is such a difficult situation for you. Enough for you that h left in this way, without this hassle from the ILS. Mary and DO have some great advice, as usual. I will be praying for you.

amberlight · 08/09/2010 16:26

Tomorrow is son's experimental eye operation. Preparing for it today. Eeek. Anyone who can spare a bit of prayer?

DutchOma · 08/09/2010 16:29

Consider yourself covered with a duvet of prayer.

Noah is breathing on his own now. However he is now on antibiotics, and nil by mouth as his digestion isn't doing very well again. Poor little man has been poked and prodded and x-rayed today.

He's not gaining any weight since he was born yet and has lost some, as he's struggling so much with digestion.

As it is one step forward and two steps back all the time, I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't fill the thread everyday with updates and perhaps shouldn't update unless there is a big change now, please just keep him in your prayers everyday.

It will be quite some time until he is strong enough to go home at the moment. Please pray that he'll continue to be at peace and Jesus will be right beside him bringing comfort, peace, healing and strength.

Donna says she can really feel God's presence when she stands by his incubator. It brings them a lot of comfort knowing you're all praying for their little boy Smile

If I'm completely wrong and you still want my updates just tell me Smile

teaandcakeplease · 08/09/2010 17:57

Praying Amber for your DS.

Thanks for your lovely e-mail DutchOma, that is exactly what I've been thinking lately.

DutchOma · 08/09/2010 19:21

Thank you TACP.
Please go on giving us updates on little Noah, I'm sure it will be easier to keep him in our prayers when we know exactly what to pray for.

Caz I'm sorry about your little Belle, I can't imagine what you're going through. I am very in awe of your faith though and will continue to pray for your husband.

Mary I almost feel like I want to be childish and go 'ooooooo' and 'awwwwww' at your DD and giggle like a girly girl.

TACP Prayers for little Noah and for yourself. How are you these days anyway?

Dutch Hello there!! [waves]

As for me, I'm good just sort of bobbing along or maybe that should be hobbling along Grin. Things are pretty good round here at the moment and we're keeping on top of prayers for our finances. I have peace about the whole situation and I know God will look after us, I think my resolve to put it to God has helped a lot on the worry front.

Hope you're all well.

CaptainDippy · 08/09/2010 20:14

Duvet of Prayer I like that a lot Grin

I think we could all do with one of those ....

Ooooooh to your DD and her BF, Mary!! Wink Glad the beginning of term seems to be going ok for her so far ... Prayers for the friends & family of the family friend who died. God give them strength at this difficult and distressing time.

for you in your situation - especially with the Mother Outlaw. xxxx Glad that Noah is breathing independently - that is big stuff. Prayers for continued progress and not too many back-steps. Do keep updating ....

Amber - Prayers for your DS and his op tomorrow; and for you and your DH too as you support him etc ....

Silly prayer really, but please could you pray the person who has bought our pram on eBay could pay for it ASAP? We need, need, need that money - desperately!!!!!!! Merci Smile

DutchOma · 09/09/2010 08:48

Prayers today for NSFN, Amber and of course little Noah.

OP posts:
CazEM · 09/09/2010 11:10

Captain - praying that God will provide.

Amber - praying for your DS.

TACP - Praying for Noah and all the family. Praying for your situation too.

DH didn't get the job. We're both very dissapointed but I'm trying hard to just accept it wasn't meant to be and God has another plan for him. It so difficult to take a knock though.

Praying for my friend and her partner and family today. Her DP has been in hospital all this week in Birmingham (a long way away from home), to do lots of tests and scans to investigate an ongoing problem. It may be bone cancer but they now have to wait up to 2 weeks for the results. They have 2 young children (8 and almost 2) and a baby due in the next 2/3 weeks. Please pray for them all, and that the results are positive.

amberlight · 09/09/2010 13:56

DS operation has gone ok - we're back home and he's resting. Now dh's gone to doc and been given immediate tests for gallbladder and doc says he may have to go in for an operation. We just don't need this. Prayers please.

DutchOma · 09/09/2010 14:24

Sure thing Amber
And thank you Lord for a sucessful operation on ds' eyes.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 09/09/2010 14:26

madhairday · 09/09/2010 18:39

Sorry to hear dh didn't get the job, Caz. Praying for the right one to come along.

Amber, glad the op went well but praying for dh.

TACP, how is Noah doing?

CD, hope the buyer has paid, praying for provision for you.

Please pray for my usual - going to alton towers on saurday for dd's 10th birthday, really looking forward to it, hiring a wheelchair for the day so can get around (thanks to the lovely ladies on MN telling me not to be daft and go for it ) but lungs are not so great at all so really need strength for it and this infection to not develop too much more - I'm on full dose antibiotics and steroids so can't do much more really. thanks x

Hermya321 · 09/09/2010 19:48

madhair I read that thread, you shouldn't feel guilty for doing it. Go have a great time with your daughter and take lots and lots of pictures and eat overpriced food and generally have a good old time. Prayers that you have good weather and a brilliant time with your DD.

Prayers for you Caz that the right job will come along.

Prayers for you as well CD.

PositiveAttitude · 09/09/2010 19:54

Praying as I read for all your needs. Smile

Please continue to pray for me. Quick update. Blood results today show none of the easy-fix problems I had been hoping would show up to cause my neck lump. Spoke to consultant who has reassured me he will start treatment as soon as he knows what is going on. MRI a week tomorrow, so will speak with him after that.
Now feeling unwell, but not sure if it is just because i am so worried about it.

DH is enjoying his new job, but it is meaning he is away during the week, so I am alone to worry!!

madhairday · 09/09/2010 20:34

Praying for you PA. It's just horrible being in that limbo state of waiting and not knowin what is going on. Glad your consultant is being helpful and reassuring. We are here for you when you need us, please don't sit and worry alone. xx
xx Grin

MrsCadwallader · 10/09/2010 06:38

Prayers for all, especially little Noah, amberlight's DS and PA

Quick (and small - I feel a bit daft worrying about this one!) request from me - DS1 (7) has just gone into Yr3 and starts his school swimming lessons today. He is really reallly excited [grin but will be one of the very few children in his year group who hasn't been having swimming lessons since year dot and I'm worrying about how he'll get on - will he be teased, will he see ok without his glasses on, can he managed to work his swimming trunks by himself Confused. Please pray that God will be with him this morning to help him manage and enjoy this new experience!

DutchOma · 10/09/2010 09:26

MrsC how can you think that is a 'small' and 'silly' request?
Our Heavenly Father cares so much and I'm sure that your son will be really blessed by your prayers for him. I gladly add mine too.

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 10/09/2010 11:33

Not small or silly MrsC Smile I was on my knees, begging God to help me find my DD3's special toy dolly this am after a dreadful night and a very early start from her because of the loss. I found her!!!! Grin He cares for us .... wink ..... Hope swimming goes stonkingly for your young man. If he does get into it, you can always save up for and purchase prescription goggles WinkSmile

Please let us know how your friends partner gets on with results of tests etc, CazEm. Such a horrible time of waiting for them Sad Their children are so young and especially a new little one on the way ....

How is DS today amber? Hope all's ok Smile Can't believe DH might need an op now Shock It never rains, but it pours. you poor love. You guys need this like a hole in the head right now. Praying for some "relief" soon Smile xxxx

Prayers they can find out something definite about your Lumpy Lump ASAP. Such a worrisome worry for you, poor thing. xx

Hope Alton Towers is fabulous MHD - You go for it!!!!! GrinGrin Fantastic!! Grin

Love to all. xxxx

amberlight · 10/09/2010 17:27

Praying for everyone as I read through.

The two men here are improving. God be praised...

teaandcakeplease · 10/09/2010 19:00

I'm feeling pretty awful today, headache and sick. Tomorrow is D day with MIL and I'm worried about it all if I still feel this rotten tomorrow. Unless H looks after them with his parents without me? However my MIL will probably be ghastly whether I hide in bed or not Hmm to the DCs and H if I'm not well. Logistically they'd have to come here or pick them up and take out after removing car seats from my car. Makes me feel funny the thought of PIL and H running off with my DCs without me

madhairday · 11/09/2010 11:23

All gutted in the madhair house this morning. dd woke up with a temp of 39, sickness and a headache. No Alton Towers. she is so miserable.

Next free Sat is the 2nd Oct, which was going to be ds' party as his bday is on the 1st - but we can schedule that in for sunday the 3rd as he is just going bowling with a few friends. So we'll go for it then. So hope it comes off, please pray it does, 10 seems such a special age. any ideas of ways to make it up to her today - food and drink strictly out!

DutchOma · 11/09/2010 11:58

Oh what a shame, I know how you were all looking forward to it. Ten is a very special age and a party to celebrate would have been marvellous. There is very little comfort when you have such a high temperature and you will just have to wait it out. Flat lemonade with a spoonful of glucose is nice to keep fluid levels up.

Hermya321 · 11/09/2010 12:53

MrsC Prayers for your DS.

TACP Prayers for your health as well.

Madhair Oh thats a shame, maybe have a snuggle day on the sofa and she has control of the remote and what you guys watch.

My two friends have had their babies this week and according to my friend they both had quite complicated deliveries, one of which ended up in a c-section. I'm now praying furiously that my delivery will be uncomplicated and I won't be in labour for days on end. I know all pregnant women pray this, and at the end of the day if it gets complex it gets complex. But well, I'm going to put my request in anyway. If you have a moment, a quick prayer in my direction would be appreciated.
