How to tell what the gender is of a cat

I've just bought a 6 month old kitten previous owner told me it was a boy but the cat is acting like it's on heat.... if I post a picture would anyone be able to tell me the cat is booked in at the vets the 4th January...

We have a ginger girly too. She's tiny, until recently people meeting her for the first time thought she wasn't full grown. She's now 11. Our 2 male 'kittens' of 6m are the same size as her, and almost the same size as our normal-sized 14yo Black Panther.

When you take your beautiful girl in for spaying, you'll quickly find out if the consensus here are right!

Incidentally, our girl never came into season despite our rather tardy vet appt, not until she was nearly 11months. I wondered if ginger girls were "sports" (? I think that's what you call infertilee cross breeds?)
