Your coming up with assumptions , please stop , your making yourself look stupid..

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 17/09/2017 19:09

Ah ok so reduced rate? Much better...

Catzpyjamas · 17/09/2017 19:13

Maybe don't take up the time of an RSPCA vet then?
Go to a private practice like anyone else able to pay for veterinary care should.

Polter · 17/09/2017 19:13

We are really not the ones looking 'stupid' OP.

If you really can't cope with people disagreeing don't engage, you can just ignore or hide the thread.

Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:13

What's the financial issues got to do with you exactly?

OP posts:
Youcanstayundermyumbrella · 17/09/2017 19:13

I'd have thought given the finances you have, if you're stretched anyway, that you would have had your cats spayed to minimise vet bills.

GeillisTheWitch · 17/09/2017 19:13

So you're on minimum wage and can barely afford your own living expenses yet you think bringing more mouths to feed into your home is a good idea, not to mention the possibility of large vet bills if she needs intervention with the birth? Hope you have good pet insurance, but something tells me that's probably something else you haven't bothered with.

Onthehighseas · 17/09/2017 19:14

I have a bond with my RESCUE cats, but the very first thing I did was get them spayed and neutered. So many unwanted cats (which were once kittens obviously) why on earth anyone would be so foolish as to allow their cat to get pregnant I have no idea. Whether they kiss you or not.....

Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:14

My last vet told me I couldn't neuter my boy till he was 6 months anyway and I wasn't exactly sure on his age as the owner lied about his age , he's roughly around 7 months now

Finances matter because you are pleading poverty whilst simultaneously putting your beloved cat at risk of pregnancy and birth complications which you don't seem to be prepared for.

Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:16

Just because I'm on minimum wage doesn't mean I won't be able to look after the kittens or any vet bills Iv not said this, I said we may be entitled to some help from rspca , I have a savings account anyway if an emergency happens

OP posts:
Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:18

See, your all assuming things again, just get off the post and leave it alone now, I don't have time to stick up for myself , if she's pregnant which she most likely is, I am prepared for anything and everything as iv looked after new born kittens before ! One was even born with a twisted back leg and I had to keep rubbing and straightening the leg back into place hoping it would help but unfortunately she had to have to leg amputated

Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:19

Had about 100 slaps on the wrist now, yes bad very bad person arnt I , are we done here now ?

OP posts:
GeillisTheWitch · 17/09/2017 19:20

So do you have pet insurance or if something goes wrong are you expecting a charity to pick up the tab for your irresponsible decision?

Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:20

Would you all rather me have her kittens aborted ?

OP posts:
Auntiedahlia · 17/09/2017 19:22

Depending on how far the cat is gone, aborting a pregnancy may be very sensible.

Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:22

No pet insurance , as I pay for everything myself , like I said I have a savings account for emergencies, only ever had to take my cat to the vet once , for an eye infection, no problems since.

OP posts:
Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:24

I'm taking her to a vets tomorrow or Tuesday at latest, requesting scan so we know how many babies she will have and whether everything looks okay , and get an average due date .. I will see what my vet advises me to do, I don't want to put my baby into danger and I didn't realise everyone was so against breeding, it's not like I'm doing it regularly :.. she will also be spayed , my thoughts is that she's atleast 4 weeks already

OP posts:
Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:25

Thanks everyone for making me feel like sh*t ...

OP posts:
CaptWentworth · 17/09/2017 19:27

Take her to the RSPCA vet and ask if she can be spayed now. That is honestly, 100% the best thing you can do for your cat.

Polter · 17/09/2017 19:28

Please read the thread I linked. Ignore everything else if you choose, but please read the linked thread.

A spay and abort would be an excellent plan to protect your cat.

Niclou98 · 17/09/2017 19:30

I read the thread and yes very upsetting to see someone lost their cat through giving birth especially when it wasn't expected / or planned

OP posts:
Polter · 17/09/2017 19:31

Wouldn't it be even worse if you'd put your own cat in that position though? The guilt would be fucking awful.

raindance84 · 17/09/2017 19:34

Sorry OP but I also agree a spay and abortion is the bet course of action . If you'd actually researched any of this before getting your cat pregnant you wouldn't be having such a hard time on here now .

lollipop7 · 17/09/2017 19:44

Why did you want to give her one chance of motherhood? If it hadn't happened would you have started feline artificial insemination? Has she been looking longingly at other cats with their kittens and weeping into her whiskas of a night. Has there been multiple peeing on a stick? Sorry I'm being facetious.

To be blunt you are being very casual about a serious problem that occurs in this country because of people like you. The fact is you have two moggies and you've let them breed. Cat shelters are full to bursting with unwanted moggies.

Generally pedigree breeders plan a litter carefully, source loving permanent homes, don't sell to just any old joe blogs for them to be used as breeding machines, the queens are exceptionally well looked after and the kittens are healthy and go to good homes. When I bought my three BSH they were all spayed within a couple of months of getting them. My house was checked, as were the details of my vets, that I had insurance and I had to show the breeder I could check their claws, teeth, groom them and check them over properly so as to assure her they were going to a responsible home. In other words it is a labour of love and they treasure their cats. The shelters are not normally full of pedigree cats who've been well cared for. If one goes there they are snatched up.

Get her to the vets. They can normally palpate the uterine area to check and of course there are other ways to tell.

Most people that breed cats the way you have done along with the likelihood you will have to flog them for next to nothing -after vet checks and kitten vaccinations to not so forever homes - has rightfully made people think you're a bit cruel and stupid.
