Everything about why this experiment on children is a truly awful idea is in the preamble or can be found on the Feminism board

Cancel the clinical trial into puberty blockers & safeguard vulnerable children - Petitions https://share.google/BcTNFNuJ2AOkOI30X

Also this is being done under Wes Streeting watch. He could stop it. He, despite admitting his own misgivings, isnt. If it goes ahead it should bear his name, the Streeting Trial of puberty blockers on Children.

Please sign, it's completely anonymous, and share if you can. Write to your MP if you wish to do more.

If the trial goes ahead has there been an assessment of the potential costs for compensation to victims who decide, once they reach adulthood, that they were unable to give informed consent?

This really needs to be put alongside the costs of the trial.

Absolutely. No child can consent to this, as they cannot have the capacity to be sure how they will feel in 20, 30 plus years time if they cannot have children, for example. Compensation for this will need to be budgeted for if this trial goes ahead.

I wonder who Wes Streeting is going to send out for the broom cupboard Westminster Hall debate.

Ben Swain?

It’s all going in Hansard though. Personal accountability, Wes. Personal accountability.

I 💕 JKR

Let's hope the press report on her tweet, like they do on so many of her musings.

The Green Party's constituency has spoken it seems, being livid red (albeit aptly green below)

And another...green candidate with impertinent citizens

Now the 11th most popular petition. JKR's tweet has got the media giving the petition publicity, imagine others will follow soon. 100,000 is now certain the question is how high it goes over next 6 months.

I've signed. This is an unethical experiment on children who can't give meaningful consent.

Remember too folks elections in May. Don't forget to ask anyone standing their position on medical experiments on kids.

To everyone who signed - thank you. There are a number of parents on here who went through hell and some are still in hell because their families have been ripped apart by ideologues in schools and the NHS. Many are paralysed with worry, and may not have the energy for elaborate thank-yous, but they will be grateful to everyone who doesn't simply look the other way. Whether it's signing the petition or raising these issues with your MP or sharing in the wider community - it all adds up.

I hope with all my heart that any nurses involved in this trial step away from it.
When I was a nurse we were able, with no judgment from anyone, to refuse to participate in treatments with which we disagreed on moral grounds.
