Err BBC is the most left wing media there is ..

Which BBC?

Because the British broadcasting company are meant to be non bias but their biggest political reporter Laura K is an obvious R Winger and she doesn't even try and hide it!

I don't think they are either left or right tbh but I know people on both sides cause it of being on the opposite side. So to me that means it must be doing quite well at not being bias.

I've never seen the Telegraph or daily Mail accused of being LW 😂

Yes, other people posting in a discussion is inherently suspect but you doing it is different and special.

What on Earth are you talking about. It’s verging on personal and obsessive now. Carry on.

Saschka · 24/11/2024 18:58

This sounds very “Freemen of The Land”

When the job losses hit and the welfare reforms hit home.

I'm also thinking of public sector pay and the budget next year

Labour can't add another £70bn in tax and borrowing so we'll see how they reconcile that if the private sector is not funding as much

Yes - and that.

PandoraSox · 24/11/2024 18:59

Aduvetday · 24/11/2024 18:41

Yes. You can also watch people deliberately try and goad into personal attacks on their post. Like wolves circling - then bang - they mass report. The more reports. MNHQ just delete. It’s all very weird. 4 or 5 posters will turn up at a time on a thread and start trying to get anyone against their view mass deleted.

If you think posters are goading, report. But if posters can't discuss differences without getting personal or insulting, then they deserve deletion.

MikeRafone · 24/11/2024 18:56

why do any MPs get their heating bills paid for on expensive or free gear, holidays and the like? Why do the MPs get a subsidised restaurant with fine food?

Yes why do they. It’s just so obviously unfair.

I’ve already spoken to MNHQ about it and will continue to do so. Thankfully, older posters who have been here a while are wise to it.

EasternStandard · 24/11/2024 19:01

Polls - are these a straight % of vote or are they actually forecasting numbers of MPs

Polls which show voting intention I think, now has Labour behind

But this petition and polls are more about dissatisfaction with Labour over much else

I recall one line from the US analysis that no incumbent had been re elected with disapproval at a certain rate, 70% without looking it up. That held out. People get voted out when they are doing badly

As for a GE now I think it's better to wait for a while. Rn public sector and benefits will be pro Labour and I can see that becoming more difficult as private sector shrinking reduces spending.

Agree with that. A GE now wouldn’t be good as the public sector would vote for that never ending money tree!

They weren’t behind in October, they may be behind when this site is updated in the next couple of days, they may continue to drop, they may go up again in the polls.

Which is exactly why we shouldn’t have a general election (or, indeed, a change of leader) so soon after one with a clear winner.

That's good, I have found MNHQ are willing to deal with posters who deliberately goad.

I'd be amazed if the budget hadn't had an impact.

Depends on what cliques are on the thread IME which puts new posters off. I’ll be sure to keep reminding them!

Oh I’m sure it will have done! But the question is what that impact will be in the next 2-3 years.

I’m not in a politics clique so I hope you are delighted I haven’t been put off posting on this thread 🙂

Dymaxion · 24/11/2024 19:08

private sector shrinking reduces spending.

Do you mean manufacturing output when you say private sector shrinking ? @EasternStandard

Brinny · 24/11/2024 19:10

All governments lie, I can't believe much what they say, but labour really have punched believe the belt now, taking the heating allowance back, now farmers, what next, buy harking back to Cameron, why did he without giving people the true facts hold a referendum , did people really understand , well I suppose you reap what you sew, I thought Labour was for the people again git that wrong to.🤐

Laura K is not a right winger. Boris Johnson complained to the BBC about her interviews and at one tory party conference she had to have a bodyguard. Hardly sounds likes a right winger to me.

Absolutely disastrous in 2-3 years. At least Truss sacked her chancellor and reversed the changes, Labour don't even care how bad this is.

They don't care about outcomes only ideology so we are getting absolutely stuffed by their policies so Labour can feel good about themselves.

The last lot were truly awful but this lot have some how managed to be even worse in less than 6 months.

Can we please have some new politicians.

@Dorisbonson Truss sacked Kwarteng in a vain attempt to save her own skin, not because she disagreed with anything she and he decided to do.

Of course they won’t.
The fact that they couldn’t care less about the vulnerable is of absolutely no interest to them in their cosy publicly-funded houses.
Anyway they’ll be voted out in 5 years thank god.
