JP Morgan are not relocating people because it's cheaper in the EU.

BugsyStar30 · 25/06/2016 22:56

We live in a democracy. The people voted. End of.........

I will not sign! Yabu.
It's done, move on.
I was heartbroken, but you can't stamp your feet and get your own way.

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 23:00

Well it's definitely the end of the UK if it's not undone.

Other than that it's not the end of anything but the beginning of a nightmare that the majority who voted for it are seemingly too uninformed to be aware of.

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 23:01

No that's not true. JP Morgan have said that they will retain a substantial presence in the UK, but that following restructuring some jobs will move abroad.

Kummerspeck · 25/06/2016 23:04

We can argue and fight each other and start huge petitions to stay in the EU or argue and fight to change conditions within the UK.
THIS IS WHAT WE SHOULD ALL BE FOCUSING ON

JeanGenie23 · 25/06/2016 23:07

For me, the only reason why I signed this was because of the amount of people I have seen and heard say they have voters regret because they voted leave not after careful consideration, but as a protest vote, and then after they saw how it tipped the result they regretted it. That makes my blood boil. To do something so life changing out of spite, is enfuriating.
It would annoy me whatever reason we left, because to me that was the wrong decision, but if all leavers could put forward a valid reason, then I would just have to accept the difference of opinion, but to hear people did it just because, it's maddening

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 23:07

The petition to stay is to change the conditions within the UK.

Only 34% of the UK population actually voted for Leave.

Farage said before the vote that if it was 52/48 to Remain it would be unfinished business.

The Leave campaign lies are already being revealed - no millions for nhs, no ability to limit immigration.

This is Way too important not to fight for.

Signed.

To stand by and let something happen that you firmly believe is wrong just because you are going against a majority vote is not standing by and letting democracy happen its lazy, stupid and neglectful. I know that leaving the EU is wrong and I will not stop saying it just because I come across as a sore loser. It's not about winning and losing its about right and wrong.
The petition has already achieved its goal - a debate will happen - I urge you to sign it as this is a movement that is right.

OrangesandLemonsNow · 25/06/2016 23:30

It's not about winning and losing its about right and wrong.

In your opinion.

Kimononono · 25/06/2016 23:31

Only 34% of the UK population actually voted for Leave

But that was still more than remain

WaspsandBeesSting · 25/06/2016 23:31

Only 34% of the UK population actually voted for Leave.

Even less voted to stay.

Last time I checked Farage had nothing to do with parliament.

Kimononono · 25/06/2016 23:32

How do you know that a debate in parliament will happen ?

Littlemisslovesspiders · 25/06/2016 23:33

if all leavers could put forward a valid reason, then I would just have to accept the difference of opinion

All Remainers don't have valid reasons or is that OK because they agree with you.

OrangesandLemonsNow · 25/06/2016 23:34

The petition has already achieved its goal - a debate will happen

It will be considered Not guaranteed

Kummerspeck · 25/06/2016 23:36

Any government would overturn this at its peril, particularly when people can sign the petition more than once. If they did they must know that every election from then on would be challenged over and over and democracy would be dead

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 23:40

Can we just be clear there is a distinct difference between an election and a referendum. Not the same thing at all.

MPs can block a referendum they cannot block an election result.

bloodyteenagers · 25/06/2016 23:41

But the petition was to decide what would happen, if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum.

So even if this does get discussed in parliament, which not all do even after meeting the required signatures. All that will happen is in future, if we ever have a referendum again stipulations will be added. This won't change the result of this one. For it to have affected this one, the petition should have been made before the referendum announced.

Kimononono · 25/06/2016 23:41

little I've seen that being asked all over this board for the past two days. Leavers then post why and the poster will not accept their reasons.

Then another poster says the same (well demands) and it just goes on and on.

People voted for their own reasons. They don't actually have to tell you shit.

Janecc · 27/06/2016 08:00

I already signed it. Sure it won't do much good.

Ouriana some of the comments made for leave were a bit naive. Of course the poorest and those depending on food banks will be worse off. If the economy drops, less people will give. And some angry remainers will likely stop giving to those, who have willingly eff'd up their country. The EU is pro helping those worse off, which is why we as a nation give more than we get in financial terms but not in overall benefits, which are unquantifiable. But hey, let's just hurry up and leave. Confused

Bedsheets4knickers · 27/06/2016 13:42

We don't know that the people who use food banks are the ones who voted to leave ??
