What shall we do .... Take the best of 3????

TheSultanofPingu · 25/06/2016 22:18

Can I point out that just last month Nigel Farage stated that he would call for a re vote in the event of a 48 to 52 win for remain.

I voted to remain and am still absolutely gutted at the result. That said, I'm not going to sign the petition. It's undemocratic and would cause a massive outcry.

What more undemocratic than basing such a huge change on a 4% majority of Farage lemmings?

This is a travesty of democracy.

Brexit · 25/06/2016 22:25

Oh do fuck off.

Big time.

NoMudNoLotus · 25/06/2016 22:26

Yes yes Ouriana.

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 22:28

I didnt vote leave for myself, I voted leave for an area destroyed when the EU gave a huge firm millions to relocate and no one replaced those jobs.

That was the firm's choice, the EU just gave them the money to do it. It's actually the responsibility of the U.K. government to replace the jobs.

howtorebuild · 25/06/2016 22:30

Ouriana yes.

bloodyteenagers · 25/06/2016 22:31

The petition is pointless.

  1. it was created before the vote. Read the wording. Read the date. Rather ironic some are signing this and begging others to do so because apparently the leave voters didn't bother to read first.

2). How many times do we repeat this? What is the point of voting if afterwards someone has a tantrum and demands we do it all over again.

  1. anyone can sign the petition. All you need is an email address. I said on another thread I could easily sign twice just for me and another time for my child. Years ago I could have signed 6 times.. These petitions are a farce.
Kimononono · 25/06/2016 22:32

This is actually madness that you lot are still going back and forth!

Wow.

The point of the petition is this:

-100,000 signatures mean it has to be considered for debate in Parliament.

  • The higher the number of the signers shows the extent of the opposition to the result.

To ignore the view of 2.4 million people would be undemocratic. And you're obsessed with democracy right?

David Lammy has called this evening for Parliament to block Brexit.

howtorebuild · 25/06/2016 22:40

They won't debate that joke. It is mostly signatures from people outside the UK who were not eligible to vote.

bakeoffcake · 25/06/2016 22:41

David Lammy MP has asked Parliment to vote against the referendum.

"Let us not destroy our economy on the basis of lies and the hubris of Boris Johnson."

There was a vote

One side won

That's democracy.

Whining about the result is juvenile

HTH

Brexit · 25/06/2016 22:44

All the people who voted remain could sign the petition if they want. It still won't make a jot of difference.

bakeoffcake · 25/06/2016 22:45

Sorry Gloria xposted.

David Lammy also quoted Farage, from May, stating that if the result was 52 remain and 48 Leave then there would be "unfinished business".

Farage admitted 10 hours after the poll closed that they had lied about the 350 million going to the NHS. Politions have to stop lying to us.

We have had enough!

Kimononono · 25/06/2016 22:47

It will never happen gloria. It will open the door for revotes when people start crying over general elections. No mp with their eye on being PM will allow that.

Democracy is not revoting and revoting till you get the situation you want.

The majority voted out - infact more than 1.2 million more voted out so its not just a few.

Any fucker with a hundred email accounts could sign it. The real vote happened on Thursday.

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 22:48

The company in your area didn't relocate on the basis of vote.

If JP Morgan move jobs abroad because of Brexit then that is the responsibility of Brexiteers.

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 22:50

To be honest Ouriana you're simply confirming the naivety of Brexiteers, as are all the other Leave voters on the thread.

GloriaGaynor · 25/06/2016 22:51

I'm sure you're a nice person - but that's the bottom line.
