AIBU to think some MNers are gits?

Ha! Got your attention. Pretty much the only way I could get people to find the way to this hidden topic of mystery, the petitions and online campaigns topic.

This year I spent 3 months in a psychiatric hospital. It was incredibly shit for a whole raft of reasons from being horrendously ill, right through to the utterly vile crap they served as food. The worst bit, though, was the impact it had on my children. They really, really suffered. The only thing that made it better for them was that I was close by.

They've now closed the hospital to women. Just women. Not men, they still get local care, but if I got ill now I'd be shipped off an hours drive away from where I live.

So a few of the women where I live have started a campaign. We've been doing pretty well, but we need more support.

If you can spare a moment of your time to sign our petition, we'd be grateful. It's here - www.change.org/p/lancashire-care-nhs-foundation-trust-return-local-inpatient-care-to-the-women-of-north-lancashire

I'm posting this in my usual posting name so I don't get accused of being a fricking spammer again.

MWAH xx

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 20/11/2014 20:31

We've just heard from Lancaster University Student's Union. They've passed a motion to support our campaign which is just brilliant.

I think a demo is in order!

OP posts:
LineRunner · 20/11/2014 20:34

What about your local council, Keema? Could they support a motion?

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 20/11/2014 20:38

I'm not sure. When we got the MPs involved, the Trust released a very generic statements that was misleading by omission, so I'm not sure whether the council would be interested.
If we get the demo going, we'll be contacting local press again as they love a good demo.

blardyfeck · 20/11/2014 20:43

Signed.
All the best Keema

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 20/11/2014 20:46

Thanks blardyfeck. :)

I am feeling almost positive. It's a good feeling.

Our councillors always love a good notice of motion. It just pledges their support. Puts pressure on.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 20/11/2014 20:50

You're doing brilliantly!

MrsCakesPrecognition · 21/11/2014 00:22

How about getting on to the local candidates for the General Election. I know our candidates are all busy shaking hands and tweeting about it.
It might be worth finding who is standing for each of the parties and getting in touch with them as well as your current MP.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 21/11/2014 12:24

Ooh yes they will want to curry favour and NHS is so high on the agenda. They need to be seen making the right 'choices' on economy. Hopefully you can find a candidate who agrees that this particular economy is most definitely false.

KeemaNaanAndCurryOn · 21/11/2014 13:48

MrsCakes that's a good idea. We've already been in touch with the local MPs who both got the same bollocks statement from the trust. We did reply to them, but have heard nothing back, so I'm guessing they are happy to ignore what the Trust are doing as they've been in touch and washed their hands of it.

Getting in touch with the other local candidates could be just what we need. There's always more avenues to go down where you can irritate people into acting, just to get rid of you. Grin
