Petitions and activism
AIBU to think some MNers are gits?

Ha! Got your attention. Pretty much the only way I could get people to find the way to this hidden topic of mystery, the petitions and online campaigns topic.
This year I spent 3 months in a psychiatric hospital. It was incredibly shit for a whole raft of reasons from being horrendously ill, right through to the utterly vile crap they served as food. The worst bit, though, was the impact it had on my children. They really, really suffered. The only thing that made it better for them was that I was close by.
They've now closed the hospital to women. Just women. Not men, they still get local care, but if I got ill now I'd be shipped off an hours drive away from where I live.
So a few of the women where I live have started a campaign. We've been doing pretty well, but we need more support.
If you can spare a moment of your time to sign our petition, we'd be grateful. It's here - www.change.org/p/lancashire-care-nhs-foundation-trust-return-local-inpatient-care-to-the-women-of-north-lancashire
I'm posting this in my usual posting name so I don't get accused of being a fricking spammer again.
MWAH xx

Thank you for all being gits and signing.
Its an important part of githood to sign petitions.
Today, I learned that signing my petition will cause an explosion of bluebells in the woods next spring. You know it makes sense. Do it for the woodlands if you can't do it for me.

Thank you Alpaca
Yes spam. It's not a problem. I got a lovely email from HQ explaining that because I originally posted in AIBU that some posters had reported me as they felt that posting a link to a petition was spamming.
It's fair enough as some folks feel like that about petitions and that's why there's this topic, although I'd never seen it before. It's actually done me a huge favour as since starting this thread I've had about 100 extra signatures and I'm only 4 off hitting the grand total of 300.
Its also another notch on the old MN bedpost. I've been deleted for posting a personal attack and deleted for being too identifiable, but never for being a spammer before.
