Honestly, does anyone else just give up reading posts because the command of language is so poor?
Not talking about people who have English as a second language, because you can read through that.
I feel like such a moaner, but it really does make me feel so sad that people cannot truly communicate in their own language.

I've noticed posters putting ETA when , I think , they mean NB ?

ETA = edited to add

Posters have started using it recently because of the new(ish) edit function.

Oh, thank you, that makes sense.

SPAG mistakes by native speakers are a different monster altogether.

Yes, and as a TEFL tutor, I find them easier to unpick than the plain lazy/badly taught.
I don't blame posters, I blame the education we seem to have in the UK.

I’d lay off the hyperbole if you’re trying to make a valid point. It comes across as slightly hysterical, especially when it’s about something so anodyne.

I posted in PC because I believe this is the correct place to moan about poor English skills. I am a TEFL tutor, work with those with dyslexia and teach adult literacy. In the posts I that drive me mad, none of these things are evident. Yes, I understand many people are writing in distress, writing on the phone/fat thumbs/auto correct don't help.
IMO the point of language is to 'be understood' and 'communicate' with others. Sometimes posts are so unintelligible that they leave more questions than answers; and really don't get me started on comprehension.

OP, I find that it's often sentence construction which is poor in posts, and poor punctuation.
