Take it easy oopsadaisy !! Sounds like there's lots going on. I'm assuming your dress still fits (I know you were a bit worried about it not accommodating your bump very well). Its a pain that dp is away but it will make the wedding day (and night ) all the more special because of it

Hoochie - would you be so kind as to give us a wedding report too????

Who was there? Music? Readings? Rings? Roles people played? How you celebrated afterwards? We all love to hear about weddings however big or small seeing as we are all getting married or have just got married recently too - it is fun to share.

Hoochie - what a magical day. Sounds just perfect.

MerlinsBeard · 22/08/2008 20:42

Hochie, that sounds so lovely

Although i am now in panic mode again WHO do you choose as witnesses for the register?? why is there no official list of things you need to think about when you set a date??!! Why WHY??

TillyScoutsmum · 23/08/2008 16:07

Hoochie - you looked absolutely stunning. I think I remember your dress search thread as well. Sounds like you had an amazing day.

MoM - don't panic . You can whoever you like as witnesses (as long as they#re over 18). I think we're having mine and DP's brothers - but haven't really decided yet. You can just decide on the day I think so there's no rush

We have our meeting with registrar on 10th(or 12th)of september so will have to make a list to discuss with them!

There is soooooo much that you just don't think of!

oopsadaisyangel · 25/08/2008 09:48

Hoochie - you looked amazing - what a fab dress!!

Tilly - have slowed down now!! had final dress fitting on Saturday and it fits perfect (in fact still had to be taken in ). Everything is done and sorted now all I need to do this week is pamper myself before Saturday - can't wait and after 11 years together and 18 months of planning I can't believe its actually here!! To top it all off DP surprised me yesterday by telling me that he's booked us a honeymoon leaving on Sunday - 7 nights, 5* all inclusive but won't tell me where - he wanted it to be a surprise but I needed to sort out an extra days holiday with my work! I'm as high as a kite this week and I hope that my work aren't expecting too much out me this week!!

hughjarssss · 26/08/2008 10:37

Hi ladies, another MNer is offering tablecloths and napkin rings for free.

here

Sounds like a bargin to me.
Thought someone may be intrested

hughjarssss · 26/08/2008 10:45

I'm going to bore the knickers off you all now, but can you tell me if I have missed anything.

I have organised:

My dress/shoes/jewelry/underwear
dd's bridesmaid dress
dp morning suit
weddding rings
food and drink for afterwards
Vows for cereomony
Hair and make up
Flowers for bouqet

Haven't sorted out a cake but don't think we are going to have one.

Anything I have forgotten?

stretchmarkqueen · 26/08/2008 10:54

transport to and from ceremony
hotel/honeymoon stuff?
thankyou gifts?

not boring, am feeding baby! hence lack of caps!!!!

hughjarssss · 26/08/2008 11:00

Thanks stretch

Not having a honeymoon straight away, so thats one less thing to organise!

Transport - well its kinda a non traditional wedding so was thinking of just using dp's car. But then was thinking we could hire one, a real fancy one instead - so I should look into that!

What sort of things can you get for Thank you gifts?

stretchmarkqueen · 26/08/2008 11:09

well, there are a few people really helping us out for our wedding, mum, mil, sis, sil and aunt all getting nice bunch of flowers (roughly £12 each),
bil cufflinks,
bridesmaids i got a really lovely necklace from h samuels, she's 12,
3 flowergirls getting a bridesmaid teddy from birthday's (?)
and pageboy (8) getting a watch.

this is what i'm buying dp

sorry bout punctuation!!!

hughjarssss · 26/08/2008 11:20

They are fab stretch - really personal

We are getting married in dp's home town and a few of our closest friends are making their way down to celebrate it with us.

I would like to get them something special but we don't have a lot of money.

stretchmarkqueen · 26/08/2008 11:25

I am making favour scrolls for our wedding. I've bought some nice antique laid paper (8.99), and i'm printing out the poem that our bridesmaid is reading for us, then i'm tying it with ribbon. costs nowt and very personal.

What kind of things are you looking for? how many people?

We have practically zero money too!!! I love a challenge though!!

stretchmarkqueen · 26/08/2008 11:26

favour scrolls

cheaper to make your own though!!

hughjarssss · 26/08/2008 11:30

They are gorgeous Stretch

I only need two! One for each couple and they are sold in packs of 15!!

So I will have to do my own, I'm not very good at things like tis but I will give it a try
Where did you get your paper and ribbions from?

stretchmarkqueen · 26/08/2008 11:40

Paper is from whsmith, they do some nice parchment as well. Ribbon from the market. very cheap!!

I'm making my own, just got the idea from that site!!!

If you only need 2 gifts, have you thought about making up a small hamper for each couple, it could include things like shampoo, beer, small photo frame, etc...? Just mini things??
