...can I take the liberty of starting another thread, since the other one filled up?

Pops head in. Blathers could you ditch the ham in favour if meatballs as i reckon they'll be more realistic.

Gotta go again, dd is pooing blood because of my antibiotics and been in casualty etc. Feel like nothing is normal in my house yet and certainly not had a babymoon!!!

Blatherskite · 06/03/2012 16:03

DW that does not sound good!! Hope you're both feeling better soon. Is there anything we can do to help?

stealthsquiggle · 06/03/2012 16:06

poor little DD2, DW, and poor you. Are you all managing OK?

OP posts:
Tinkerisdead · 06/03/2012 16:37

Im quite down. Not pnd as dd2 is a dream but i just cant get back on my feet and its eroding away at the new baby high. Scar is open and infected but the antibiotics are strong, given dd diarrohea through my milk, so much so that now theres blood. Its def the tablets. I started warfarin yesterday (this is after i had emergency doc out on thurs after angina type pain). I asked the practice nurse to check my scar as i dont want another course if tablets. She said it looks good but got home and it burst crap out again. It feels like i either take tablets and stop breastfeeding or carry on on make dd ill.

Ive started a thread asking for tips to get the scar to heal so im gonna stop the pills as i completed the course. Then see if dd gets better and try the tips like manuka honey on scar. If it gets worse then i'll face tablets v's feeding and thats breaking my heart. I need to get driving as i have to go blood clinic every four days and i cant breathe to walk it!!

Rant over. Sob into my pillow about shit time... So blathers... You promised me choc pizza!!

stealthsquiggle · 06/03/2012 16:55
Sad

Did you get any further in your planning of a blessing?

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 06/03/2012 16:57

how about this for a "family tree" cake?

OP posts:
Tinkerisdead · 06/03/2012 17:06

That cake is clever!! Gone off family tree theme though as this baby is like a tiny doll. Shes so quiet and placid i want a pink-fest! Im thinking big blousy peonies, roses, bunting and pimms on a summers day.

Come on stealth find some more ideas. Cake im gonna attempt myself with pink pearls and bootees on top.

stealthsquiggle · 06/03/2012 17:15

so this is the mental image then?

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 06/03/2012 17:16

I'll make you a choc pizza! Just get better.

Give DSis a ring. She'll know about AB's and BF.

As for the scar - where's your thread? I got an infected would with DS. Do you have some of the sterile pads? Trying the Arnica? Boosting your immune system with some multivits? (although again, check with Dsis about those). Bath with some Tea Tree oil in to clean and heal? I'll have a think of what else I did while I give the children Dinner - I'll be back...

Hello, glad I found this thread! Organising a christening for ds on Easter Sunday (he will be 20m) church is organised, buffet pretty much organised, colour/theme sorted but I am stuck on the cake! It is really hard to find a cake idea that is not too baby ish or too birthday ish iyswim? Colours of the table cloths (and possible bunting) are sunshine yellow and cornflower blue.

Please help! :)

stealthsquiggle · 06/03/2012 18:11

You could make something like this cornflower blue and sunshine yellow?

OP posts:
stealthsquiggle · 06/03/2012 18:12

Stealth that mental image picture is bang on. Thats me in soft focus. Svelte with a pink belt on!!!

Blathers. My old midwife is a breastfeeding worker. Rang her before and the antibiotic is breast safety level2 which means it should be relatively safe possibly causing diorrohea. I know thats spelt wrong but im feeding dd and cant be arsed to check it. I called gp who says i have to have this tablet as ive got anaerobes in the infection and this pill is the exact treatment. I cant take vitamins as they contain vitamink which affects warfarin. I cant even have broccolli, spinach etc more than half a cup!

Im so bloody pissed off. Twice dh has been out when ive needed help now. So i told him he cant go out til i can at least drive as im stranded. He's text asking if he can play pool tonight and thurs. Told him to bloody well go if he cant recognise that me and dd2 aint very well and could do with the help.

My thread is in the childbirth section. I cant link but im doing salt bath, lavender oil. Ive been using sterile dressings but its got worse so i taped the holes up with surgical tape and aired it. Someone suggests manuka honey on it. I'll try anything.

Blatherskite · 06/03/2012 19:25

I've found it and commented. Not sure I've remembered anything I haven't said on here but at least it will have bumped it. Angry at your DH leaving you to play pool.

Tinkerisdead · 06/03/2012 21:33

Thank you. Ive left it to air although reading up on surgical tape it lets air in so im thinking maybe put tape over it to keep the gaps from widenening whilst letting air in. Dd has less blood in poo already.

Dh came in very apologetic saying pool team have cancelled both matches this week and has done my dinner etc so he has redeemed himself a bit.

Off to look at stealths pics for ideas.

stealthsquiggle · 06/03/2012 21:40

Glad DH saw sense, DW.

If you found fabric you liked I would be happy to make bunting...

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 06/03/2012 21:40

I'd maybe invest in some steri strips instead to make sure the air is getting to where it's needed and make sure your hands are mega clean when touching it.

Tinkerisdead · 06/03/2012 23:28

Stealth thats made me laugh. My mil has been here three times a week for two weeks and the whole time (around my ironing) she has been cutting out triangles for bunting she wants to sell.

Convo goes : so i made this template yada yada and on 8ft of tape yada yada and then i iron the letters on...... Zzzzzzzzzzz

So on saturday. D day. Craft fair day. I ask how many bunting lengths did you sell?

None.

Me: can i have them for dd's christening then?

Tinkerisdead · 06/03/2012 23:33

Blathers look from wiki....

The precursor to the steri-strip was Micropore Surgical Tape. Reports exist of dramatic cases where Micropore Surgical tape alone was used to hold large abdominal incisions together when the skin was too fragile to accommodate sutures and another where one patient's abdominal wall was literally rebuilt with the tape and his life saved when sutures on the patient's compromised skin failed to hold the wound closed. These reports prompted 3M to cut Micropore Surgical Tape into one-eighth inch, one-fourth inch and one-half inch strips, sterilise and package it as primary surface closures for incisions.

He he so ive actually been using the precursor to steristrips. Im ingenious. And it says here i can basically tape my stomach back together ha ha. Im so impressed with my ingenuity at the tape. But steristrips may be less fiddly.
