The old thread has filled up and no one noticed - I think we're missing @oblomov26 sharp eyes!

I've tried to tag in everyone I can think of, but apologies to anyone I've missed!

DS doing fine. Been to brass band and gym.

Already doing reporting. Covering an extremely grim murder case.

Very underpaid really!

So sorry to hear about your dad and especially your Ds @Cantonet - what a worry for you 😬 It’s great that he’s got support though - am I remembering correctly that dd2 is his twin?

Glad Ds is settling in @Piggywaspushed

@Cantonet So sorry to hear DS had such a bad reaction and how fortunate he has good friends. I hope his medication can be tailored better and quickly.

@crazycrofter We were in Vancouver and it was suggested we take a walk round Stanley Park. I said I wasn't risking getting lost so they drove us round! Love the programme but these relatives know someone who worked on the production and said there is much editing...

Comefromaway · Today 09:24

So sorry things have been so difficult Cantonet. Sending hugs

PhotoDad · Today 10:39

Sorry to hear all that, @Cantonet.

blinkbonny · Today 14:51

@EwwSproutsI know Vancouver well and can concur that it is easy to get turned around in Stanley Park - though maybe not as easy as the show made it look! Watching that show did whet our appetite to go to some of the less accessible places in Canada - such a beautiful country.

@PiggywaspushedIm glad your DS is getting stuck in to some actual writing already. I saw this post on LinkedIn the other day and thought of you: https://lnkd.in/p/egWsHFjJ, but perhaps not needed now (if the link even works).

Sorry about all the woes and drama even if they mainly seem to be resolved now. Also lots of great success stories, so well done everyone! 👏👏 We’re still mostly enjoying having DS at home - I’m enjoying it wholeheartedly, my husband is fed up that DS doesn’t do as much cleaning up after himself as he’d like (because I’m still working and DH is not, DH does the bulk of the cleaning so this kind of thing gets on his nerves). DS is doing a project working with Saudi Arabia which means 7:30am starts and Sunday working, but he still prefers it to his previous job. I commented that at least he’d made some good friends at the first job and he said ‘that was mainly trauma bonding’ 😳

EwwSprouts · Today 15:46

@blinkbonny Yikes to trauma bonding! Glad he prefers the new role.

We hopped over to Vancouver Island for a few days. Everyone thought we were nuts as I had booked Campbell River but the wildlife was amazing and the town is pleasant. Many years ago tagged Algonquin national park on to Toronto which was also beautiful.

Cantonet · Today 15:54

Thank you all for your kind thoughts 🙏🏼
I'm home now and my sister is taking over the parental care for the next couple of days.
Dd2 is trying to get Ds2 organised.
He's had another online appt. and his meds have been tweaked to potentiate the Prozac to get him through this dangerous phase quickly. I've been advised that he should stay on these meds for the entirety of his university degree. And he will be susceptible to this low mood for the rest of his life - very daunting😢
Love all the talk about Vancouver & Stanley Park.
Ds1 has just visited there to see his Chinese grandma who I think is now 97/98 for her birthday and a bit of a family reunion.
@crazycrofter dd2 is a twin with ds1. So she's a couple of years older & wiser hopefully.
