Are your children the same height?

Mine are only little, so I can't tell how tall they will be.
I think my son will be a tall adult though, as he's the tallest child in his nursery and has huge feet!
Myself and husband are both around 5'7".
DH reckons son won't be more than an inch or so taller than us. The formula you can use to predict adult height says the same thing.
This is what makes me wonder though... a friend has 3 boys all with the same mother. They are 6'6", 6'4" and 6 feet exactly.
My friend is 6'5" so not a surprise that he had tall boys.
Using the formula to predict height, surely the boys should be a similar height!
Me and my sister are the exact same height, as are DH and his brother.
Does anyone have siblings or children that massively differ in height?

Genetics are too crazy to be able to predict it reasonably. Everyone gets a different mix of their parents genes so Dc1 might get lots of tall genes from Dad which are (for the point of this) dominant and tall genes from mom. Dc2 might get short genes from Dad and Mom. Massive height difference. Obviously a massive simplification but the point is you can't predict what you'll get, what affect the pregnancy will have epigenically, env factors in the womb and outside of it etc

DSis is about 2 inches shorter than me. DH osa few inches taller than his brother. DS went into 18-24 month clothes at about 20 months, DTwons are going into them at 11 / 12 months

There is 6 inch height difference in my DDs

This morning I met some old family friends. Dad was 6 ft 2, Mum was 5 ft 6, both daughters were 5 ft 8 and 5 ft 11 with partners over 6ft, and all the grandsons’ adult heights were 5 ft 8 - 5ft 9. They’re the shortest boys ever known on any side of their families.

My kids are 6ft6 (25m), 5ft11(18f) and 6ft4(16m) I'm 5ft9 and dad is 5ft10. Not sure where any of them get it from in all honesty.

My mum and dad are 5 feet something. I'm only four feet eight or nine inches however due to undiagnosed proportional dwarfism. Both of my sisters are also over five foot. I'm a tiny person.

I'd be interested to hear people's real life experience of when girls stop growing and whether it is always at the onset of periods starting? ( I'm aware boys tend to keep growing for longer).

My DD2 (13) and not started periods yet. She is already a couple of cm taller than her sister (15) who has started...

It’s very clear that in body terms DD1 takes after 6’3 DH and DD2 takes after 5’3 me.

So I doubt they will be the same height as adults!

My 18 DD is 6' in her stocking feet and her 16 sister is 5'6. My son is 5'9 and he's only 14 !.

DD is 21 and is now the same height as me - 5'7".

How about comparing their length and weight at birth? Dd was my longest and biggest baby and weighed 8lbs 3oz. Now under 5 feet and very petite. Ds 7lbs 5oz and now 5feet 10 and lean. Second son 7lbs 7oz, probably 5feet 7 and chunky. All breast fed and fortunately healthy. I am 5 feet 1 and husband 5 feet 7. There doesn’t seem to be any great correlation.

I'm 5'8", dh is 5'10"

Ds is 6'3, dd1 is 5'9 and dd2 is 5'3.

I have both very tall and very small relatives!

My dad is 6ft and my mom is 5ft 4.
My brothee is 6ft and I'm 5ft 1! I stopped growing when I started my period aged 13.

DH is 5ft 8.
I have non ID twin boys, 15. One is 5ft 8 and one is 5ft 6. We were told DS1 would only reach 5ft 3, but he's still growing (albeit very slowly this last year).

I am 5 foot 10, dh is 6 foot 1, ds1 is 6 foot 8! And ds2 is six foot 1.
The boys are completely different builds too. Ds1 is built like a shed and ds2 like a dancer....very lean and wiry

My Mum is 5'4 and Dad was 5'10.

I have 3 siblings - 5'3, 6ft, 5'8 and 5'7.

I'm 5ft8, my sister is 5ft1 (just), we're both taller than our Mum and Shorter than our Dad. People are often quite surprised the first time they see us together.

Son is 6ft 6” and daughter is 5ft 3”

of course not, just as they don't all have the same colour hair or eyes... Genetics is fairly complex unless siblings are monozygotic twins.

My daughter is 5.4 (stopped growing a few years ago!) but her younger sister who still has a fair few years to grow is already 5.3! (My husband side all very short women!)

Never made sense of those growth charts!! I think my youngest will be more my height but who knows!!!

My daughter seemed to stop growing a year after her periods started (it definitely was a slower growth during that year)

My children are most definitely not the same height my 14 year old is 6ft 2, my 11 year old is 4ft 10. Based on their growth curves DS1 should be around 6ft 4 ish when he stops growing DS2 will be.lucky to make 5ft 8

DD1 is 5'4" and DD2 is 5'8". So many times people have thought DD2 is older. . Recently someone even started to say that DD1 was obviously not 21 as she wasn't tall enough...

My Dh was the tallest male in his family until ds overtook him!
