Are your children the same height?

Mine are only little, so I can't tell how tall they will be.
I think my son will be a tall adult though, as he's the tallest child in his nursery and has huge feet!
Myself and husband are both around 5'7".
DH reckons son won't be more than an inch or so taller than us. The formula you can use to predict adult height says the same thing.
This is what makes me wonder though... a friend has 3 boys all with the same mother. They are 6'6", 6'4" and 6 feet exactly.
My friend is 6'5" so not a surprise that he had tall boys.
Using the formula to predict height, surely the boys should be a similar height!
Me and my sister are the exact same height, as are DH and his brother.
Does anyone have siblings or children that massively differ in height?

I'm 5'7" and DH is 5'9" . DS1 is 6' 5" , DS2 is 6' 2" and DD is 5'3" .

I don't know how tall Ds is , DH is about 5 ft 7 , I'm 5ft 6 and DS makes us look like hobbits
New friends were very careful to talk about DS , as they thought he might have been mine , from a previous relationship as he is so tall
My Dads side is the family is tall though
DD is about an inch taller than me ( same height as her Dad .... unless she has her heels on! )

My mum is 5'6 as am I and 2 of my sisters. One sister is 5'8. Pretty similar.

I am guessing my dd's will be tall as dh is 6'4 and they are 135 and 137 at just turned 8.

I am 5'6' and my DH is 6'. Our adult DDs are 5'5" and 5'9". One takes after me and one takes after DH.

Does shoe size have an indication at all? 14year old boy taking size 10. When do feet stop growing?

Ds2 got to the stage of wearing out footy boots rather than outgrowing them about 18mo- 2 yrs ago, so about 15-16.

I have the smallest feet in the family. There was a great stage when I bagged various people's cast-off trainers and Converse but not any more, sadly.

I'm 5'7. ex H is 5'10, adult DD is 5'0, adult DS is 6'1

The predictions are only an average, so of course brothers aren't always the same height.

Not at all. On every girl is 4’11” the other 5’8”. Our son is 6’4”.

I’m 5’5” and my husband is just on 6’, if he stands tall.

Me: 5’3.5
Sister: 4’11

In my family and my husband's, there's a big difference between sibling height and height between children and parents.

My sister is 5.4" and I'm 5.9" so I'm quite a lot taller than her. My mum and dad are fairly short too. My mum is 5.3" and my dad 5.6".

My husband is 6.2" and his mum and dad are 5.3" and 5.5" respectively - no idea where his height comes from! His sister is short, 5.3" so difference of nearly a foot between them.

Short adults often reach their adult heights earlier and so are taller than their peers at certain ages before they suddenly aren’t. The most consistant clue is length of the baby at birth and at 2 - the longer the newborn baby / taller the 2 yo the taller the adult will be. But even that assumes the child isn’t obese.

In my family at the age of 2 my 6ft 2 brother was just over 3 ft tall (he had been measured in front of us by the HV) but was really thin and skinny. My 5 ft 10 brother measured around 3 ft too but was overweight and our GP at the time said he probably wouldn’t be as tall as his brother because he’s heavier and he was right - his height seemed to peter out after 14/15 which is when my taller brother had his major growth spurt.

I’m 5’9, DH is 6’3. DD was always tallest until she reached year 8. Her feet stopped growing at 13 and she is about 5’7. DS is almost 17, still appears to be growing and was 6’ 4 1/2” when I measured him earlier in the week.
There are about 6” between DH and his brother who is my height (ish) and they have the same parents.
My DM is 5’4 1/2” and all her siblings are 5’8” and above. So she was always the Duffy one.

So the height predictor can't be that accurate then? It's more unpredictable?

using that calculation, my adult DD should be 5ft 6, but she's 5ft 11

Four adult sons all over 6 ft.
their dads are 6ft and 5.8. I am 5ft

Children inherit these genetic variants from their parents but not always in the same combination—thus, not all siblings will end up being the same height.

dd2 overtook dd1 when they were about 15 and 18

ds is 6' (same as his Dad)
dd2 is quite tall, but not unusually so - I'd guess about 5'8"
dd1 is pretty dinky compared with her peers - I'd guess about 5' 3" (?) so not ridiculously small

My mum is 5'3 and dad is 5'9 I'm 5'11 and sister is 5'7. My ex is 5'8 and our daughter is very tall for age and son is a little below average.

The girls in my family range from 5' 4 to 5' 8 and the boys from 5' 8 to 6'. So a wide range of heights. My mum is tiny at barely 5', dad was about 5 ' 10. My dds are 5' 5 and 5' 8, son is 6 ft. I am the smallest in my family at 5' 4, my dh is 5' 8.

Dh is 6’3” , I am 5’8” our adult children are ds 6’3” and dd 5’5” . We assume she got the short gene from my mum .

My mum's brothers range from 6 foot to 5'6.
My dad was 5'11, his sister is 5'1.

I'm 5.1, sister 5.4, one brother 5.7, the other 6.1. Same parents (5.2 and 6.0). DCs Dad 6.2, DS 5.10, DD1 5.4, DD2 5.9

My siblings (4) are average height some on the taller side. I'm 5'2 and very petite. I didn't get the tall gene .
