Why is it on mumsnet?

That if you wish to feed your children healthy food,
not smoke when you are pg,
look after them and make sure they are safe
I could go on and on..............
you are ridiculed for basically being a responsible parent?
I do hope that the views on mumsnet do not reflect society as a whole, what a scary thought.
I have changed my name as I know that if I said who I was as usual I would be shot down in flames.

Sophable is fibbing she has plenty of stuff from Jigsaw I KNOW!!!

tamum · 29/06/2005 16:49

Oh, I never knew Kew was related to Jigsaw, that makes sense. A very nice woman from Toast just rang me to let me know my sale stuff is on its way. I would shop at Primark if there was one here though, honest.

Bugsy2 · 29/06/2005 16:59

Sticks neck out to admit that I don't like Jigsaw. Think it is overpriced and has far too much linen stuff. Dislike the annoying wooden hangers too.

Interested in this thread?

Then you might like threads about these subjects:

Heathcliffscathy · 29/06/2005 19:33

i wish i didn't like jigsaw.

originally liked them cause they made the only trousers ever that fit me.

i wish i had more tho CD. i didn't lie. i do drool over the window and then try to find the equivalent in hennes! biyatch.

happymerryberries · 29/06/2005 19:40

Honestly never heared of Boden. I thought you were all on about the people that make the coffe makers

Tortington · 29/06/2005 20:01

this thread had been so utterly utterly funny. i have honestly spent two evenings wetting myself. especially with comments like ...no i dont have herbs....unless the bit of parsely counts!!

no i don't read the mail or the guardian ....i read the economist

all of morningpapers post.

however has also been enlightening for me too. its been nice in a messed up sort of way to note how many of you actually do curl up in a ball and cry. and after debating whether or not do take my own test - have decided not too!!!!

Tortington · 29/06/2005 20:01

to not too - its that edumication again

MABS · 29/06/2005 20:59

Do online shopping at Tesco - sorely tempted by Ocado but I know it's too expensive. Buy the odd organic item, fairtrade bananas, and Ecover washing up liquid.

I do use the word Chav - find it rather useful. Like sophable though, I'm fairly disparaging of all social groups (I hate everyone equally). I'm also Northern and from a decidedly working class background - which is maybe why I don't equate Chav with working class, to me it's not a class thing, it's an attitude.

Read The Guardian.

Don't think all people on benefits are scroungers - one of my best friends is a single Mum on benefits (does that sound a bit like "some of my best friends are black"?)

Do have dinner parties - but not posh ones. Mostly have curry and much beer and wine.

Drink red wine, but also lager.

My garden is small but lovely, I don't have a herb garden but I do grow herbs on my kitchen window sill.

Dh is a professional, I am a SAHM.

I have never had a cleaner, an au pair, a gardener, or a nanny and doubt I ever will.

Dh is not f*cking anyone else, neither am I.

I have bought the odd item at Boden, all of which I have sold on ebay once outgrown. Most of my clothes are from Next.

I don't smack, but I shout like a deranged fishwife.

I breast-fed.

I don't smoke - gave up when I got pregnant with ds1 and haven't had one since, so pretty much 9 years.

I do weep, wail and gnash my teeth in the corner and think I am the world's worst Mum from time to time - but when I am feeling that low I generally don't post on MN about it.

Whatever a typical MNer is - I don't think I am one!

Blu · 29/06/2005 21:32

LOL at Dino's 'parsley in the fridge from summerfield', and Marina describing herself as 'a fat old downmarket hag' !

(esp as she is no such thing. I can't vouch for the state of Dino's fridge, though)

MrLSG · 29/06/2005 21:49

Lunar,
You exaggerate (slightly).
Hasn't the butcher just delivered?

LunarSea · 29/06/2005 23:14

that was dh by the way - and "the butcher" happens to be a friend who'd dropped off osme meat in lieu of money he owed us, so it's not exactly your normal delivery service

soapbox · 29/06/2005 23:50

Come on Custy you just have to do it

Take the test! Take the test! Take the test! Take th41e test! (Jerry Springer/ Trisha style)

Heathcliffscathy · 29/06/2005 23:51

i agree: takethetesttakethetesttakethetest!

Tortington · 30/06/2005 00:10

ate organic...........errr nope

shopped at tesco .....yes

and though everyone else ins ociety was a chav( the word chav being an insult) .....errr no

i though they didn't smoke, ....i do ccasionally in secret dont tell dh or mummylonglegs

they always breast fed....no

and thought everyone on benefits were no good low life spongers.........no i was one once - low life sponger

most either read the daily mail or the guardian and definatley not the daily mirror or the sun.
....i refuse to buy newspapers

all have a herb garden ....BEf*ckingHAVE

and are "professionals" whether that is professional mum or professional worker. no one works at tesco. .......have worked in asda, packed disney posters for 2p per tube and now have a good job - not sure whether its classed as professional - on that alone then i am guessing it isn't lol

everyone has diner parties ...no ...but..since moving south i have ACTUALLY attended a couple

and the saturday BAR threads are full of people who only drink wine as opposed to half a lager and lime. ....look i;ll drink owt am not right fussy

everyone recycles ...just got a box from council this week

and shops at boden....never heard of it until mnet..no

everyone is politically aware of societies divide but can see no reason why everyone cant afford a house in the burbs if they try hard enough. ......do i really need to answer that?

everyone goes to the gym or is on a diet. ..i am a member of a gym i don't go to.

everyones husband is fcking or thinking of fking someone else and everyone changes their name to get advice on it... mines to lazy to even w@nk.

venezualan help. ...no help of any kind i have kids for that

no one smacks...not a lot anymore but ccasionally

screams .....daily

or admits to being curled up in a ball in hte corner becuase they can't take any more of parenthood .....once monthly

and post in their own name .....mostly

everyone new is a troll ......nope call me naive but i actually believe every story with a name change unless its obviously fingerfishy

soapbox · 30/06/2005 00:13

Yay Custy - your not that different to the rest of us afterall are you

And rumour has it that you do have a 'herb garden' whatever the feck that is!!!!

soapbox · 30/06/2005 00:14

I shouldn't drink should I???

That should be you're

ScummyMummy · 30/06/2005 00:23

Shop in extremely posh Sainsbury's market

Will buy organic if noticeably tastier option

no to chav concept

read the guardian on Wednesdays, Observer on Sundays, Community Care on Thursdays and Time Out occasionally

benefits are ace

dinner parties are ace but my flat is too messy to have them very often

wine makes me very drunk indeed so avoid it unless at meet up

no garden, no herbs. my crassula is getting some new leaves though

approaching professional status

no cleaner

no lovers apart from the live-in one

trying to recycle

peacocks is my new favourite clothes shop. not a boden fan

houses in the burbs cost a fortune

no gym

no diet

no smacks

enjoyed breastfeeding

enjoy smoking

don't enjoy shouting but do succumb

have been lucky with parenthood so far- only very occasional days of despair

Janh · 30/06/2005 00:31

scummy, pls invite me to your house one day (if I'm ever in London!)

ScummyMummy · 30/06/2005 00:33
