Why is it on mumsnet?

That if you wish to feed your children healthy food,
not smoke when you are pg,
look after them and make sure they are safe
I could go on and on..............
you are ridiculed for basically being a responsible parent?
I do hope that the views on mumsnet do not reflect society as a whole, what a scary thought.
I have changed my name as I know that if I said who I was as usual I would be shot down in flames.

Hi, Marina - yes, he is a boy and has had a fab time - nearly over though, they fly back on Monday

soapbox · 29/06/2005 14:15

And for those of you who also buy from Boden, whether you admit it or not, the sale supposedly starts on Friday!!!!!

so, the thing about mumsnetters is:

they shop at boden or they don't (I don't because I am pathologically tight).

they drink ale or lager and lime or wine or pimms

they may or may not have a cleaner

they are either professional, or they say they are not professional but in fact are teachers or advisors (professionals in my book). Or they are not professional.

they may or may not shout at their children

they buy food in shops or at farmer's markets

they read newspapers.

they have opinions about benefits

they have opinions about class

they may or may not shout at or smack their children.

they may or may not smoke

they may or may not be having an affair

they spend too much time on the internet.

does that sum it up? It certainly describes me.

motherinferior · 29/06/2005 14:33

If I could be assured that Heaven were in fact a Jigsaw, I would take up religion.

Have you tried this Jigsaw-related outlet , soph?

Heathcliffscathy · 29/06/2005 14:39

i got v hot bothered and weekend before last. and the only way i could find of easing my pain was to buy beautiful but impractical item from jigsaw. is hanging up yet to be worn. don't go anywhere posh enough....

but makes me feel so much better looking at it...

motherinferior · 29/06/2005 14:39

Cheaper and sometimes not quite as nice, tbh.

Heathcliffscathy · 29/06/2005 14:39

hot bothered angryt and resentful that should read

Papillon · 29/06/2005 14:40

A thread or perhaps dissertation on ´Inverted snobbery and the Theory of Relativity´ would be most enlightening.

oliveoil · 29/06/2005 14:41

There is a sale on in French Connection at the mo, I got a lovely black dress for £40 should have been £80.

Is FC allowed on Mumsnet or should I stick to Primark?

Tinker · 29/06/2005 14:42

as long as it doesn't have fcuk on the front

Heathcliffscathy · 29/06/2005 14:43

oh god paps are you cross with me? or are you just pointing out that i can be all touchy feely life is a great learning curve on one thread and then mrsdevilantiboden on another???

Fio2 · 29/06/2005 14:45

qs is another good cheap one

i got my daughter a lovely halter neck dress from there for 4 pound (mopst prob not ethical though)

Papillon · 29/06/2005 14:48

or perhaps I mean ´Inverted snobbery and the Theory of Chaos´

No no Sophable... how could I be cross with a beautiful thing like yourself. I think its important to be inverted.. linear thought waves aren´t creative enough in my world view

Its probably the weather stormy, humid, hot and wild.. just my thing... makes everything feel edgy, like something is going to happen. Good for spell making I am sure!

Papillon · 29/06/2005 14:49

I wanted a wrap dress from Boden but first the package never arrived, then the next attempt got a letter after the online order to say was out of stock... obviously Boden and I are cross wires not meant to mix. Not sure the devil was involved though.
