have to take DS1 to his induction afternoon (2nd one - hoping he doesn't throw up like he did last week LOL) at his new school.........thing is DS2 has his sleep at 1pm-3pm - and the induction afternoon starts at 1.30

So I'm going to put DS2 down for his sleep as usual, at 1.30 on the dot grab the monitor, lock the front door and whizz round to the school to drop DS1 off - then whizz back again

What was going to happen to QoQ's DS in the 2.5 mins she was away? Were big creepy monsters going to jump out of his wardrobe and savage him?

Caligula · 28/06/2005 20:40

Now!

starlover · 28/06/2005 20:40

HM see my post of 5.10

"i think i am going to invent a big harness so that we can atatch all our kids to us all the time, at least until theyt are 18.

oi you lot. come to my what would you have done thread, i need help with my son hannibal lecter.

fwiw QoQ, i don't see a major problem with what you did. i'd get a bit twitchy about being outside the house in the school in case something happened to you...but twitchy aside, i'd still probably have done it maybe. certainly don't think you should be vilified for it.

Tortington · 28/06/2005 20:40

QueenOfQuotes · 28/06/2005 20:41

hehe - have you seen the latest thread on NJ???

Most of them that have posted on the thread admit to leaving their charges in the car while paying for petrol.

Now I don't drive - but I know that when DH gets petrol it can (and quite often DOES) take a couple of minutes - especially if it's busy....

starlover · 28/06/2005 20:42

yteah you are HM... you're trying to steal my harness idea before i get a chance to patent it and sell it on nannyjob!

QueenOfQuotes · 28/06/2005 20:42

"Were big creepy monsters going to jump out of his wardrobe and savage him?"

Nah - but I might invent one to come out and savage DS1 who is currently jumping round the bedroom instead of sleeping - and therefor 'entertaining' his brother at the same time.

pleeeease pleaaasse pleeeeeeease you have wisdom that i need

lemonice · 28/06/2005 20:46

I think the only difference between going to the school next door and going into the garden and taking a few minutes or the garage and taking a few minutes is psychological, so those who say it's wrong are seeing it from the outside after something has gone wrong or in fear that something would go wrong, if I was a nanny I wouldn't do it, mea culpa...but rules for nannies and mums are different..

MrsGordonRamsay · 28/06/2005 20:50

Shit you have been busy - surpassed the 1000 mark. QOQ keep going

QueenEagle · 28/06/2005 21:05

lemonice - I totally agree that rules for nannies or foster carers are very different to the rules you apply for your own. I have been completely and utterly flamed for doing what I did (and personally insulted by MNers, WWB - even though you denied any of them had been on this thread); whatever I choose to do with my children is my business, any of the kids I fostered was a different story, they were not mine so I was unable to make a judgement call on their behalf.

HappyHuggy · 28/06/2005 21:28
