New thread.

May our nights be dry, our days free of wicking, and may growth spurts coincide with lovely new fluffy product releases. Hurrah!

I hate sposies! Just had to take a soaking wet vest off Clement - thankfully the fleece sleepsuit was still dry, acting like the waterproof layer for the damp mess within! I do want to attempt some cloth on him next week, and just hope the "eczema" doesn't get worse, since it's not even perfect with the dreadful paper nappies.

On a side note, poor Clem is barking like a seal! We've all had cold/flu for over a week, and I finally thought we were getting back to normal today. But this cough sounds really nasty! Just hope nothing serious has settled in his chest! We've all had a bit of cough, but nothing like what he was almost gasping for breath with a few minutes ago!

treedelivery · 20/11/2009 23:31

Oh rachel. I hate that barking seal cough thing.

Get some bowls of water on a radiator to moisten airways.

Have I mentioned how kind you are recently??

Night all. For God's sake don't dribble on any beautiful nappies during your sleep in the nappy store Swampster.

Must try find pic of dd1 [4yo] using softeeeees as pillows in her car seat, on the long drive back from babyshow last year.

I was about 30 weeks pregnant this time last year, about to start a new job and dh was about to be made suddenly redunadant with 1 hours notice. A week today infact. What a year. Thank God he is now working [if for a third less, now under 20k ]

Slightly off nappy topic!! Night all! x

thebluefoxategreensocks · 20/11/2009 23:35

night tree, thanks for tip about bowl of water, as he's in our bedroom with at least a bit of heating on in there.

Night night, sleep tight, don't let the Bedbugs bite!

treedelivery · 20/11/2009 23:41

Very good with menthol type oil in if you have any to hand. Oilbis [sp?] type thing. If its a shocker of a cough fill bathroom with shower steam and go sit in there with him. Disclaimer:After ringing NHS direct for advice of course

The way we spend the wee small hours.....

I wish you all sleep. Rachel especially and me too as leaving with dh and 2 dc's at 6am [yeah right] to visit friends about 4 hours away.

Se you all Monday ish.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 20/11/2009 23:47

ooooh, go to bed if you're up at 6am!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/11/2009 00:27

rach, it's not croup is it? usually characterised by barking seal like cough.

can't catch up till later, but was just lurking and reading.

Doing a baby/kids stuff table sale tomorrow (set up by a local mum as she hated the fact that she had to donate 30% to the NCT!!) and have spent the last few days organising stuff for that; am bloody knackered, but we have two car boots full of stuff (and that's only the tip of the iceberg )

DH has been irritating me by trying to sneak in some stuff that I told him I didn't want to sell . four times I have taken it out of the box, explaining gently (then not quite so gently!!) that the great and the good of Bramley would not appreciate some BNIP nappy accessories.

and the sleep improved a bit last night, in that bumble slept till 5.15

he missed his afternoon nap today so fingers crossed he will sleep later tomorrow. I have an inlking the waking is connected to his love of his dummy and that he is losing it, but waking up too much befire he finds it and then not wanting to go back to sleep. not sure how to cope with it, as my older two never had a dummy beyind three months old.

will catch up properly over the weekend...

oh, but SS pressie is in hand

thebluefoxategreensocks · 21/11/2009 09:48

daisy: yes, I think it might well be croup. Benjamin has woken up this morning with the same nasty cough, both are about 7 days following the start of having flu. So yes, prob is that. Benjamin had croup about 6 months ago and it seems it recurs in children who've had it before.

4andnotout · 21/11/2009 12:28

Wow you lot were chatty last night.

Ds2 had sickness/fever for past two days, DS1 has it today - gutted as he was meant to go to Man United today DH has taken ds2 instead who now seems better. I have also had to miss my NCT sale as couldn't leave poorly child with babysitter. Managed to pop over and leave leaflets though.

So am now juggling sick bowls and train track .... and trying to squeeze in some work ...

Softees are lovely to sleep on! I have a dressing gown made out of softee fabric Lush!

4andnotout · 21/11/2009 12:45

lol Myjob! DS3 is crushing cheerios into his playmat and ds1 hasn't moved at all for 2 hours ... only 4 hours til bedtime ... may even get them all to sleep this afternoon!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 21/11/2009 14:11

Clement is acting/looking really poorly today! It's bad enough to have a 7mo ill with cold/flu for over 7 days, but now to get croup on top of it all! He's got a slightly elevated temp but not a full blown fever, and just so sleepy. But he's not gone down in any bed at all today! He'd prefer to be in my arms, though he has had a few small sleeps in his carseat - I think sitting 3/4 upright helps him not feel so clogged up. Thankfully he doesn't seem to have any breathing issues with the croup, just gasps a bit with the clogged up head/nose. Wish I knew why my little boys were always getting colds! Abigail 4yo is just super healthy in all respects, but B 2.5 and C 7m seem to get a cold almost every month! . Maybe with having eczema (which means they're likely to get asthma in later life) they've got a weaker chest or something.

Anyhow, I'm meant to be getting my house tidy, as husband & oldest 2 are en route from airport, having picked up my 22yo brother, who's just flown over from Texas to see us! I just wish the children were in better form - hopefully they'll get better soon, as he's only here till early Friday morning, next week.

Octothebaglady · 21/11/2009 14:43

Anyone heard from Littlepants? She lives up near where the floods have been.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/11/2009 18:56

Sorry to hear about all the lurgies and illnesses. Rachel, my two little ones had that cough after a week of snottiness, but it passed in a few days. they are now much much better. bumble had the most horrific nappy earlier; it was running down his legs

Octothebaglady · 21/11/2009 19:22

I have been scouring for secret santa present all afternoon and am struggling! I think they just need to be with other person by christmas.

Right - off to get poorly and grumpy kids into bed!

Octothebaglady · 21/11/2009 19:23
