New thread.

May our nights be dry, our days free of wicking, and may growth spurts coincide with lovely new fluffy product releases. Hurrah!

total silence

DS still wheezy and was up at 4am screaming and didn't go back to sleep until 6am. I had to ask DH, who is up at 6.30) if he would go into work a bit later so I could get another hours kip. His breathing is a bit faster than it was yesterday and it is very sore when he coughs the poor wee scone

We are going to the docs at teatime. I could have had an earlier appointment, but I want to see the GP who does all the development checks etc as he is the nicest one there and most experienced with children.

Oooooh at lollipop stocking monkey foot bags. I will need to get two one for my personal demo kit

talking of which doing my first group demo tomorrow....I'm terrified

Scarybots · 09/11/2009 12:24

Hmmmm wish i had some peace! I've got a snotty grizzly mini Bots here with an attitude! lol

Oh no poor Bumble i hope it will all be sorted later on.

Octo No i have a Zazu and 2 Jungle Critters! lol inless i change my mind before i use the XL! lol

lucygreen · 09/11/2009 12:54

anyone any experience of making cloth nappies more fun for older bedwetters. daughter and i decided together the huggies drynites 8-15 years were bad for the enviroment and the pocket at 4.99 for 9 nappies. so ive gone the route of cloth nappies and waterproof pants from arizona health care. they are a bit of a fiddle to use( as they have to be folded etc www.arizona-care.co.uk/folding.htm )
but have been leak free and i can put in a bucket with a lid and soak and wash every few days. two things im wondering, one is fun and practical desighns for older kids night nappies. i have been looking at the pullup toweling pants and the shaped nappies with boosters arizona do , www.arizona-care.co.uk/vspads.html but these are quite costly so not sure if any advantages to them.
the other question more on the hygeine front on the nights she is dry would you wash that nappy anyway or just air it through and re use it the next night.

Can't wait to get my hands on my flybyday xl it's at the postoffice as I missed postman on friday! Grr had to get bucket out again as almond sparrows in the wash. I really like Dig-it for the boys aswell.
Love the little bag slideshow on the site Octo.

mumface · 09/11/2009 13:01

Hi Lucy, I would wash the nappy anyway even if not wet, like you would your own underwear as I germs are invisible so they may look clean. Have you looked at Nappies by Minki? They do XL sizes and custom made sizes. You could try a Yoyo pull up nappy. Or if you are happy with the pads from Arizona, how about a pattered fleece minki wrap to brighten it up.

Ah yes CheeksandCherries , Bambooty, not sure if I put review under right section now, think I may have put it under Easy peasy instead of Easydry.

cheeksandcherries · 09/11/2009 13:15

Thank you mumface - you are v kind
Also not sure where the review will land... still wrestling with incomprehensible review software myself...

2 out of 3 children sick with barf bug today. Which is nice.

Octothebaglady · 09/11/2009 13:35

Saw the nappy - lovely patterns - cool! I have fluffy post too! Pumpkin pants have landed and just uploading them. More stuff from Pumpkin Pants haven't mentioned yet too - excited! Must get back to it now!

lucygreen · 09/11/2009 13:49

thanks for advice, the minki products do look funky and it might be more than worth the money to chear her up etc. practicaly speaking is there any advantage to the wraps over plastic pants, as i say the trad nappies and plastic pants have stayed leak proof since we switched out of the huggies drynites.
i will show her the minki site later. its a relief that all these sites exist sometimes you think you are the only one dealing with the issue.

Babybots · 09/11/2009 14:05

Oooooh Octo Will check site later they do look groovy! Hmm i wonder what the new products are? lol

Got round to changing my name back so im no longer scary! lol

Need to venture out to post office before we go to the Doctors, so must get a move on!

Are people not gettin on with the Itti (AIO's) Before i spend a stupid amount of money on them???

LackaDAISYcal · 09/11/2009 14:18

lucy, how old is she? I have a minkee yoyo to suit age 4-7 ish that I want to sell. It's only ever been prewashed.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/11/2009 14:36

Octo, bumble is a chunky 24lber. We are using size 2 nappies, medium fuzzis, BG on l;argest setting etc. What size pumpkin pants would you recommend? To go over lollipop bamboo nappy or little kiwi kwik flip so pretty bulky.

I have a large in my basket, but am just not sure....

Octothebaglady · 09/11/2009 14:57

Yes would go for large - ds3 is in XL and he is in large fuzzis. He wears his over a size 2 cotton tots/sandys/lollipop softee - although not all at once lol I have one pot of gold left if you want one then only sample size pots.

Have a look on FB and let me know what you think of the bags/wipes.

mumface · 09/11/2009 16:51

Babybots I am loving the Itti AIO. I find them softer and more stretchy without the trifold in. I have 11 now and use them full time on 2yr old. They are not quite as abserbent as snap-ins though being mainly microfibre, but I use a booster aswell.
Lucy Fleece is very breathable and comfy.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 09/11/2009 16:56

Thats great news about lollipop stocking them. I had wondered if you would manage to get them in. I bet thats quite exciting as really that must be quite a big market?

Octothebaglady · 09/11/2009 18:12

It could go either way Jenny! I would expect them to fly out but depends on how sales are in general. Lollipop has an enormous loyal customer base.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/11/2009 18:20

aw that's a shame octo as I reaaaaallllllly like the sripey one and it is XL. Do you have any mediums stashed away? And did I see mention of longies somewhere?...is that fleece longies?

Next question...do they work well over a microfibre nappy like the softee or micro? Or better over a natural fibre nappy?

Am thinking that if fleece nappy/wool wrap is a good combo, then bamboo/cotton/hemp nappy would work with a fleece soaker.

You can tell I'm desperately trying to justify buying a couple of pairs

Pot of Gold not needed. Like so many products before it, it worked initially on DD's eczema, but she is now reacting to it , so the pot I bought before should last for ages on bumble's bottom.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/11/2009 18:25

I wish some of Lollipop's enormous loyal base would shimmy over in my direction I've had to cancel my demo tomorrow . doc thinks definately bronchiolitis but expects bumble to shake it off without any intervention. His tonsils are all swollen up as well and he has a really sore throat. I don't want to expose a bunch of teeny babaies to any infection.

LackaDAISYcal · 09/11/2009 18:37

and a fleece liner question. I have some very thin fleece liners, and some medium ones. I recently bought some more from ebay but they are really thick and I just don't like them.

Does anyone know anyone who sells nice thin ones?

Octothebaglady · 09/11/2009 18:47

(((virtual customers vibes for daisy)))

The longies will be in same fabrics - email me to discuss! And re thin fleece liners lol

Octothebaglady · 09/11/2009 18:48

I think they work over any fabric - ds3 wears cotton, bamboo or fleece and all good.

swampster · 09/11/2009 19:00

Hope Bumble is better soon, Daisy.

Babybots, I think it is just me not liking the Itti AIOs - I get really bad wing-droop though that could be because he is between sizes (i.e. should really still be in mediums but large are fitting ok and I didn't want to spend the money on a medium AIO). I also don't like the puffiness and I HATE HATE HATE the disgusting flappy tongue-thing - if they just stuck to the snap-in tongue for it it would be soooooo much nicer.

I wish I had just stuck with snap-ins. I have a brand new tiger AIO sitting in a cupboard and I am wondering whether I should bother even prewashing it.

How old is your DD, lucygreen? Mumface is right, I hear Minki Huggles are very good. For covers, Disana do fabby wool shorties and the XXL ones fit 110/116cm. Or get a pair of custom woollies knitted up - like Jenny earlier today on this tread, I'm in love with wool for nights. Then your DD can choose something really funky. You can find a list of woolly WAHMs on Cloth Nappy Tree.

swampster · 09/11/2009 19:06

Am very tempted by your fleece soakers, Octo, but am resisting temptation. Also wondering how much longer I can do without a MonkeyFoot wetbag...
