mumface · 20/10/2009 22:15

The UD are side sidesnap pul.
On the way back from shopping today I got chatting to someone who it turns out also uses cloth nappies, lives on the same road as me and also has a baby boy the same age as Connor! So we swapped numbers to go round for coffee. And I have never met anyone local who uses cloth before

OOO me too kmummy, by the mil. I have gone for some loccally dyed and processed wool. I really wanted organic but couldn't find at a sensible price.

The colour is Pomegranante and is all the colours you get in a...well..a pomegranate. The lady was a bit at the wool being for a baby - I think they mostly sell the lemon and mint and all that. I like it though, will look lovely with her red red red hair!

Am thinking of accesorising with some funky buttons at the ankle. Haven't chosen the leg finish yet, there are 10 finishes I have frilly already, so mught go for a crochet type effect.

Very exciting!! What you thinking of getting?

kmummy · 20/10/2009 22:38

Yey for your cloth buddy MF, everyone thinks im mad for using cloth, hump nevermind

Tree i have no idea! Im getting some longies with a skull on the bum, and narrowed in the legs, havent a clue what finish that is and a matching soaker, but for the other pair im stumped! Yours sounds lovely, wish i could be creative...just so much to choose from, E still has hardly any hair hehe, but i do have a red head already bless him, he lives in green, orange and browns, but it looks lovely with his hair, was suprised E didnt pop out with the same hair!

mumface · 20/10/2009 22:59

Liking the sound of skinnyleg longies kmummy! Very cool. How about a chrismassy red n green pair with an xmas ooga booga top to match!

kmummy · 20/10/2009 23:12

Im actually going to explode waiting, my space should be no-more than a week or so!

The christmasy ones would be good, but then what would i do once its over hehe, ive just found a fab ebay site that do longies and not expensive either, i think i may play it safe and get some safe inspiration from there, am going to order a few too

treedelivery · 21/10/2009 10:33

I think a good plan is to find a top you love, and have a pair made to complement.

Link to Christmas ooga booga please!

mumface · 21/10/2009 10:35

Morning

Ouchpouches in post

Had boys parents evening last night - all went well - ds2 very good at maths so he is moving up a year in it but both need to improve handwriting and ds1 needs to stop speed reading as it affects his writing and comprehension when writing. If anyone knows of any good books/exercises please let me know.

I saw totsbots new nappies at the weekend which they are bringing out in the new year - much better - really nice. Have got btp flexitot here which now has a flip out pocket like the easyfit with fluffle on the inside to help it dry quicker - seems much nicer - used to be dubious of the old one esp the outer bit but like this one. Poppers down like the easyfit/bambinex btp bamboo.

Need to sort out the ironing and halloween costumes etc - they have a disco this friday - want to be a devil and a vampire lol!!! Will need to get some face paints too

treedelivery · 21/10/2009 10:51

What are you doing to me? I have no money!! Stop showing me these things!!!

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 10:51

ooh I like that ooga top - does she make custom in bigger sizes??

treedelivery · 21/10/2009 11:01

SOme little git has got into my paypal account and spent £38 on computer games. Gah!!!

Have opened a dispute, and my account is frozen until it's sorted.

Missed your post Octo - sorry. Good to hear tb have new things coming soon. SOunds good!

The only thing that cured my speed reading [to an extent] was SHakespere and Jane Austen and the Brontes. Dickens or any of them would do, if he can face them Or the junior versions. The language and complex tales make you slow down and take stock. Think I started about 9 or so. Cant remember!

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 11:16

He already reads harry potter and lord of the rings etc. Will try shakespeare books - am going to get ds2 an advanced maths book today so will have a look.

There is a lady on tv who has got pregnant while pregnant

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 11:16

on gmtv

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 11:20

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 11:22

amazing

mumskullface · 21/10/2009 11:23

That's annoying Tree !!

treedelivery · 21/10/2009 11:24

Good God, am not going to watch incase I catch it!

If he is rading that grade of books, then he is flying isn't he. Its the age old problem of having no patience as the brain is so fast and effective. Tbh, in todays world, it will be an asset and I don't know if we should slow them down so they can write a paragraph about the chapter they just read. When will they ever need to? How boring to a fast bot who 'gets it'. Oh I remember the tedium of that at school

Something like chess however, would provide the need for the fast side of his comprehension to connect the the slower, carefull planning side. That might encourage care and attention in other areas.

The koreans do this so well, they play those complicated involved games that are thousands of years old. From 5!! They can listen to stories, assimilate them, and doodle beautiful drawings whilst learning a language. At the same time. Incredible.

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 11:27

Good ideas Tree - his teacher said when they do advanced reading she can see he is scanning and then has to go back when it is his turn to read. He is just 8 and reading age is over 10.

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 11:28

Tree - I hd two bank accounts used fraudulently recently - had to shut down all accounts and have cards re-issued - have bought a shredder too.

Octothebigblackscaryspider · 21/10/2009 11:30

So did you find school boring then?

Better go and get stuff done lol - catch up later
