myjob - SO glad that has gone as I was SOOOO tempted to keep it! It was in the right size for DD too and really wanted it! LOL. But does defeat the object of trade!

Babybots · 10/10/2009 11:40

MyJob, Welcome back, did you have a good time!

Still waiting on our soakers

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 10/10/2009 11:48

Babybots - Mine did take 3 weeks or maybe longer. I ordered quite a bit before you I think, I just didn't say anything till the subject came up. I think I was the first wholesale order they did as I contacted them asking if they did it and they then advertised it. They were still a good time considering they were all hand made to order though.

ager · 10/10/2009 12:18

Hi everybody.

Sorry to hear that nobody was interested in your nappies Jenny.

Octo - I'm interested to know whether the parents you talk to at Baby Shows are already interested in cloth nappies or whether you do convince anybody else iyswim?

Oooo and update on your (inadvertent) recommendations:
WNNN - I think I may have to order more!
GM - lovely fabric and worked well last night even with 2 feeds (had no dry night nappies).
Haha.. shorties - yum. Thanks Jabula !!

And talking of wool - look what postie brought me yesterday, these green longies.

Have a good weekend all while I try and find coloured bamboo BBHs!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 10/10/2009 12:25

Ager - are you looking for preloved bamboo BBH? If so, do you want to CAT me or contact me through my site?

Jabula · 10/10/2009 12:32

Babybots - are you getting any medium red polka dots? I'm lusting after one..

Scotia · 10/10/2009 12:43

Ooh Ager, lovely longies.

Welcome home Myjob.

Hi all, not been keeping up to date as I've been busy knitting. Finished K's orange longies and have posted a thread here

He's just started walking too, so no rest for me EVER!

Will have a read through and catch up with what I've been missing. Still it's saved me a fortune on nappies

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 10/10/2009 13:03

Jabula - if Babybots doesnt have one then let me know as I am doing another order very soon.

newspaperdelivery · 10/10/2009 14:56

Which nappies are you waiting on Babybots and Jenny

Christening tomorrow - am nervous. Have a table plan and decorated cake to pull out of the bag. Plus people arriving who are staying. Plus I feel a bit flu like. Yikes!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 10/10/2009 16:02

Tree - we were talking about the fleece soakers. I have mine, but Babybots ordered after me so is still waiting.

newspaperdelivery · 10/10/2009 16:06

OOO Fleece soakers.

On your site Jennny?

Babybots · 10/10/2009 16:25

The said soakers should be at Babybots HQ on Wednesday!

Tree how exciting i wish we got DS christened we still could i guess. I hope it all goes well for you all and that lovely nappy gets lots of attension!

ilovemydogandmrobama · 10/10/2009 16:31

Colored Bamboo BBHs -- CNT sometimes has them. I was lucky and got a few on ebay as they were new. One thing to find out if you buy them used, is whether the person lives in a hard or soft water area. Massive difference!

ager - I have had a nappy display this morning at a NCT sale and have spoken to loads of people - all the exisiting cloth users who come along and say hello and see what else there is. But also lots of pregnant ladies - although I do pounce make an effort to talk to them if possible. I did talk to a few parents with babies, but I seem to find that unless people decide to use cloth before the baby is born, it is much less likely that they will convert to using washables! I always have my Lollipop rainbow on prominent display to catch peoples attention, and Lollipop Softees and Ittis for people to stroke!!!

I was wearing a doll in a Close Parent sling, and that got loads of attention - must go and upload said product to my website in case I get loads of hits as a result (insert optimistic dreaming smiley!)

I love getting out there and doing events like Baby Shows, NCT sales, antenatal classes - just so that people can see the range of nappies that are available now.

Babybots · 10/10/2009 18:56

OOOOOoo Sal, i have a close parent sling! love it best thing i ever brought.

We have also found the pregnancy stage is the best time to introduce the idea of nappies to people as its then they have the chance to think about the idea!! Hence i dont think it matters if they have thought about using cloth if you sell the idea to them well.

LatinDAISYcal · 10/10/2009 19:37

jenny, micros can take a fair few washes before they are up to max absorbency; mine just seem to be getting better and better.

just lurking tonight; feeling really rough and then relaised today that I have forgotten to take my ADs since the beginning of the week and my head is all over th place.

loving the longies and wish the hahtuvahullu blog had an english translation!

ager · 10/10/2009 20:39

Thanks for the offer of the BBH Jenny but I would prefer a new one because looking at your comment about bumhuggers I am guessing your water is hard. I have 2 bumhuggers that I don't use but do use EH day nappies, I just put them in the tumble drier with other washing to soften them. I love how slim they are. Neither dds are heavy wetters so I don't boost any of my nappies.

I have just sent a form to the council to get £25 back for using cloth nappies so am wondering whether to splash out on a bedbug. Are they really worth all the ££££££££££££££££s? Do they stay soft and sqidgy?

swampster · 10/10/2009 20:41

Bedbugs do go a bit less strokeable but 10 minutes in the tumbler re-fluffs them.

LatinDAISYcal · 10/10/2009 21:11

oooh, ager you've reminded me that I can get £30 cashback for some nappies I bought for bumble

mumface · 10/10/2009 21:13

Has anyone seen the Mini lala's at Cheeks n cherries? Really cool prints.

Scotia - have just looked at your link, walking at 8 months!! Good luck!!
I used to think dd1 was an early walker at 10 months how wrong was I??

Purplesal thanks for answering about who is interested in cloth nappies. I do know quite a few people who use cloth, but once most mums find out that my dd's bum looks big(ger) because of her cloth nappies their eyes start to glaze over.

But on a brighter note when I stumbled upon cloth bum's stand at a babyshow I nearly fainted, and from that moment all was lost - well a lot of money anyway
