Going from no babies to being a new parent was far more shocking than when I had the subsequent child

FlappyTheBat · 18/07/2009 11:06

0-1 was hard as a bit of a shock, but soon found out that life hadn't stopped and really enjoyed dc1.

1-2, apart from being tired in the first 16few months, not bad as no2 just seemed to fit in.

can't say about 2-3 as still debating about whether or not to have a dc3.

nickschick · 18/07/2009 11:06

I found 2-3 was far more 'difficult' than Id anticipated.

0-1 the worst, 1-2 easy, 2-3 pretty hard.

juuule · 18/07/2009 12:43

Same as celery.

Northerngirldownsouth · 18/07/2009 12:48

0-1 the biggest shock of my life, and I thought I was prepared.....

1-2 baby? what baby??? (though once ds2 started crawling I became a full time toy-dispute referee)

Like Flappy, can't decide whether to go for dc3

goldenoldie · 18/07/2009 12:49

first one is definately the hardest. The next two were easy (but exausting) by comparison

Jojay · 18/07/2009 12:51

1-2 harder than 0-1 for me, but Ds1 was an angel and Ds2 wasn't, to put it mildly.

The jury's out on DC3

elvislives · 18/07/2009 12:55

0-1 really hard. 1-2 almost as bad. 2-3 no problem.

JackieNo · 18/07/2009 12:57

0-1 really hard
1-2 definitely easier, though it had its moments!

yappybluedog · 18/07/2009 13:02

I have 1, so don't know, but definately 0-1 is the biggest shock to the system, surely?

Marthasmama · 18/07/2009 13:07

0-1 much harder than 1-2. DD is an absolute delight, ds was evil (well I think he had reflux but as a new parent we just believed everyone who told us that some babies are sicky and grizzly). Going for number three in about 12/18 months.

FAQinglovely · 18/07/2009 13:14

0-1 hardest (as it's a total change from what you're used to

1-2 I found really hard

2-3 - easy peasy

Ponders · 18/07/2009 13:45

What FAQ & elvislives said

(3-4 also easy-peasy, if you want to look ahead )

angrypixie · 18/07/2009 13:51

0-1 AAAAHHHHHHHHH
1-2 Much easier but more tired. (18 month gap)
2-3 Easy Peasy

trixymalixy · 18/07/2009 13:55
TheNatty · 18/07/2009 13:59

0-1 hard
1-2 easier, but tricky to juggle 2
2-3 easy peasy, you have the baby skills AND the juggling skills already!

DS2 is only 2 weeks tho, so could get harder lol.
i am hoping more people say 4 is easier then 3, as trying to convince DH we are not done yet!

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 18/07/2009 14:02

2-3 for us.

misscreosote · 18/07/2009 14:10

0-1 hardest thing I've ever done
1-2 baby - easy peasy japanesy; managing DD1 as well, hmmmm..... DD2 only 6 weeks so ask me in another couple of months. But overall, easier, as you know that that after the first few shitty hellish interesting weeks, it does start to get better (slowly).
2-3 never ever intend to find out; please remind me of that when I get all hormonal in 6 months time

3cutedarlings · 18/07/2009 14:15

0-1 hard
1-2 easier than 0-1 but very tiring and harder to get organised.
2-3 easy peasy but defo more tiring again! but lots of fun!

Reesie · 18/07/2009 20:44

0-1 ridiculously hard
1-2 sooooooo easy that I'm now contemplating no 3!

lizziemun · 19/07/2009 08:40

0-1 easy DD1 was a very easy baby.

1-2 Bloody hard, but then dd2 was difficult baby who didn't/doesn't like milk. Did nothing but cry/scream for 6mths.

2-3 easy but then again DS is an easy baby.

eandh · 19/07/2009 08:51

1-2 was a bit of a nightmare, dd2 was a good baby however dd1 took a good 4 months to get used to dd2 being around (she was 2.4 at the time)so was stroppy, spiteful and developed ezcema from'stress' about it all, although when dd2 was about 7 months onwards it def got easier, she slept better, dd1 accepted she was here to stay and found her a bit more interesting

Am fairly adament I'll never be having a 3rd (DH would love another) as I can't go through all of that again (plus not enough room/money etc etc)
