Hi,

Last night (I was clothed!) my darling two year old pointed to his willy, then said, "Mummy Willy", and I said, "no (!), Mummy has a Fanny"... and to my astonishment, my DH hates the word 'Fanny'!!! Ho hum.

What do you call 'it' to inquisitive children. Am also expecting DD anytime, and obviously DS is going to see me change her a millions times.

I honestly can't remember what my Mum referred to as mine.

Bits! Sorry, very dull!

Newbarnsleygirl · 12/05/2005 16:35

I would say bits too.

As daft as it sounds I couldn't bring myself to teach dd to call it anything else.

WigWamBam · 12/05/2005 16:35

I just call them her bits. She's almost 4 now, and has been asking me where babies come from, so she now knows the proper name, but still calls them "bits".

My mum called mine a toushie or toushe? anyway its pronounced toow she. But my boys call mine a foof/ fouf?

My friend and me argue over spellings all the time!!!
I absolutely hate 'front bottom'

Preggars · 12/05/2005 16:37

One of my Mum's best friends used to refer to 'it' as the 'horses nose'.

It still cracks me up hearing that.

But, serious suggestions only please.

True. Girls Bits then seems like a firm favorite so far.

Weve had the word noony in our family for donkeys, thats what I use !!!Now I will quietly go hide under a stone with sheer embaressment !!!

WigWamBam · 12/05/2005 16:41

My friend's surname is Nooney, better not tell her about this, Melsy

happymerryberries · 12/05/2005 16:41

Can't stand front bottom!

WigWamBam · 12/05/2005 16:42

My mother always called it "front bottom", it really makes me cringe. And poo was "big wee" ... so twee.

lunavix · 12/05/2005 16:42

I call ds's bits 'bits'!

Know he's not a girl though..

dyzzidi · 12/05/2005 16:43

God its weird when you think back isn't it

happymerryberries · 12/05/2005 16:43

I know, cringeworthy isn't it. Hand on heart, I have never, ever, ever used those terms with my dd.

nutcracker · 12/05/2005 16:45

My dd2 calls her a Fairy Toogle

Dd1 said she is calling hers a Mary

Dd2 rang my dad the other day just to ask him what mommy used to call her bits, i heard him say what down the other end of the room

feelingold · 12/05/2005 16:59

We just say boys have a willy and girls have a mary.

sallycinnamon · 12/05/2005 19:53

We call girls bits their tuppence!!! Absolutely no idea why apart from thats what my dear old ma used to call mine. Can't believe I've just shared that with the whole world! Sounds cute thought doesn't it?!

Preggars · 12/05/2005 20:07

Cute. Keeps in with the "spending a penny" theme too!

wee wee bottom and poo poo bottom.

daddy has a willy.

wavingordrowning · 13/05/2005 19:44

After extensive research, we decided on...wizzle. Which seemed to go rather nicely with willy and didn't seem too twee. Unfortuntately we have since discovered that there is a wizzle (not of the front bottom variety) on Dora the Explorer and in Winnie the Pooh which is causing some confusion!
