Hi,

Last night (I was clothed!) my darling two year old pointed to his willy, then said, "Mummy Willy", and I said, "no (!), Mummy has a Fanny"... and to my astonishment, my DH hates the word 'Fanny'!!! Ho hum.

What do you call 'it' to inquisitive children. Am also expecting DD anytime, and obviously DS is going to see me change her a millions times.

I honestly can't remember what my Mum referred to as mine.

We call it a money box

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2005 20:35

God, I wish there was a word equivalent to fanny but there isn't is there? I think we're going with fanny in the absence of anything else but I can't say I'm thrilled with it.

crazyandconfused · 13/05/2005 20:36

we call them by their names vagina and penis I think I must be the only one in my area

WideWebWitch · 13/05/2005 20:38

I meant equivalent to willy, sorry.

PotPourri · 13/05/2005 20:42

Great thread. I have been wondering what ot call it too. No idea what my mum called mine, and she had 5 girls too! I think bits is probably going to be it, in the absence of anything else that jumps out at me. I do remember my mum calling a wee a 'streamy'. Even now I get a shiver of embarrassment about that - HATE hate hate it!

hotmama · 13/05/2005 20:44

DD is only 7 months but I refer to all of her bits as wee wee - like my mum did to me - but this is the front stuff - surely bottom is bottom?

jambo1707 · 13/05/2005 20:45

A girl has a flower

Aboy a tail orplain old willy or wee man

pootlepod · 13/05/2005 20:46

Fairycake

bighug · 13/05/2005 20:51

I am one of four girls, and we always called "it" a "wee" with what comes out of it a "wee wee". Seemed completely normal and logical at the time, but doesn't now, hence i have not used it with my dd. I call it Front Bottom, I think that's fine!

yoyo · 13/05/2005 20:54

We use "bits" too! My mother used to say "Fanny Jane" to us and I hated it.

Rainbow · 13/05/2005 20:54

Mini ha ha. Well it did get shortened to mini or min but I don't know where it comes from. Thats what my boys call it too.

mummyhelen · 13/05/2005 23:47

My dd calls it her Minnie. Seems that is the "in" word for it at school so who am I to argue. Up til then we akways referred to it as tuppence. Oh boys are so easy, they don't have all these weird names for their willies!

passtheprozac · 13/05/2005 23:54

my mother always refered to it as 'nether regions' but shes just wierd.

Aero · 13/05/2005 23:59

We say 'minnie' too! Seems a fairly good equivilant to 'willy'

flamesparrow · 14/05/2005 07:45

I grew up with nether regions too!!

I quite like the word "minnie" - friends say "prim" which I hate with a passion....

So far though she is only 23 months, and just has girly bits (but then, I say to Boy that I have girly bits and he has boy bits too )...

bigdonna · 14/05/2005 09:27

We called it a fairy,my daughter calls it her bits.my childmindee calls it her minnie.my friends little girl calls it her tooney, becauseshe said it looks like two knees.toonees

noddyholder · 14/05/2005 09:35

I have always called it my tufty

Cristina7 · 14/05/2005 09:42

I might use the Romanian word for it ("pasarica", meaning little bird), DD is only 10 weeks old, so haven't talked much about it yet. DS (5) knows of willy and fanny.

Preggars · 14/05/2005 19:49

This is hilarious to read back. I am glad I'm not the only one who was stuck for a name.

I definately prefer 'Girls bits' or 'Minnie' to Fanny.

he herm.

avoid calling it anything whenever possible!
when can't avoid, i use to the kids
nethers
bits
willy
wee wee (front)
poopie (back)

to my dh, all manner of crude and offensive language.

Kiwicath · 16/05/2005 06:32

Blimey!! I'm one of 6 girls with a boy thrown in there for luck and I haven't got a clue what my mum referred to our nether regions as. Hubby refers to mine as "NEVER regions" these days . DS1 definitely has a "willy" and #2 DS when he pops out I guess will have one too. I have a while before girl bits are mentioned.

donnie · 16/05/2005 08:19

minnie ! or sometimes minkie.

starshaker · 16/05/2005 08:23

i call it a flower

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 08:24

we use minnie! i refer to my own as a minnie so why shouldnt jess when shes old enough?!
