What's in a name? Suggestions for what to call a girl's "front bottom".

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but couldn't think where else to put it.

Anyway, DD 18 months old, still too early to potty train but developmentally she's obviously learning to speak. So when it comes to it what word are we going to use?

Boys are easy - "willy" is age appropriate and not too crude.

Girls bits don't seem to be that straightforward.

Vagina - too clinical and not actually correct when it comes to peeing.

Vulva - a bit too clinical and odd.

Front bottom - too French and Saunders.

Any suggestions?

I've heard people use "mini" before, though not convinced it's that great

We use penis for a boy, but I don't quite like vulva either. Don;t know why......

I use 'bits' for my 2 DD's.

Lots of people on here use the correct terminology. To those people I would like to ask - do you also talk about 'urine' and 'faeces'? 'Vagina' is such a horrible word, very clunky sounding.

We go with front bottom, mainly because that's what me and my sisters called it when we were kids.

In our house boys have willy's and girls have winkles.

i tell dd to wipe her bits.

cookie is what i called mine when i was little. my dd calls it that too. it's a bit twee, but that's just what it's called in our house!

my sister taught her DD that it was called a tootsie - always made me giggle. Also her DS had a doodlee....

i hate front bottom. In fact I struggle with all the used terms.

sigh. We cant decide what to use to explain to DSs that I dont have a willy.

Boys have 'winkies' and girls have 'minkies' here , we'll get to the correct anatomical names in due course but they just sound wrong coming out of a toddlers mouth.

when you take them to the doctors with thrush or something similar will you be able to talk about their foof with a straight face?

our 2 yr old calls her vagina her bottom and her bottom her bum, it works for us.

although a friend told her 2 yr old that it was her special place!! FFS!

Yes, infact I had to take dd1 to the doctors a couple of weeks ago, with a suspected urine infection. I said she had a sore foofa, and the doctor asked dd1 if she could have a look at her foofa.

Why is that odd?

I have two DSs so not a real issue here but I dont like "front bottom", it suggests that a vagina has something to do with pooing...
I woudl probably say fanny if I had a DD.

Vulva. Anything else is preposterous.
