Well, yesterday, I saw that dd was desperate for a wee, and got her to sit on the potty, To encourage her, I got a little bowl of water and her plastic Bathstore duck (which has a hole in the bottom), and showed her how he can do a wee. It did help a little as she got some dribbles in the pot, enough of a dribble to put in the toilet, but she still held on until I put her in pants. However, she recognised they were wet, although she said 'I done a big poo' - she obviously hasn't recognised weeing properly yet.
Anyway, this morning after breakfast, again, reading stories to her on the potty, she did a few little dribbles, and I said "Look, you've done a little yellow wee!" as I put it in the toilet. She was interested that it was yellow, (I remembered that had encouraged my ds - obviously kids are fascinated that they can create 'yellow') but she kept getting up and dancing around, obviously desperate, but not quite knowing how to let go in the potty. I got the duck out again and showed her it piddling in the bowl (nice encouraging tinkly noise) dd jumping around getting more and more desperate to go, then I noticed dribbles on the bathroom floor, so I said "Ooo, wee-wee dribbles! Let's sit you on the pot while I wipe them up!" Whereupon, she did a huge wee in the pot, stood up, and said "Look!" I made a huge celebration, and she was very happy. I showed her how it was yellow as I poured it in the toilet, and she said "Again! again!", but realised she couldn't go. It's certainly a breakthrough!
